    Hi from Long Island. I am addicted to your adventure’s and enjoy watching you guys enjoy life. Two cups of coffee every morning watching your travels. You guys are both awesome. Be well and keep taking us along. Thank you.

      Awesome! Thank you! We are glad you like the videos. Lyn has two cups in the morning "before" we travel!

    I think it's important to note - and certainly informative for your viewers - that Lyn did an 'initial' tie to the mooring ball (~5:23 in the video) with a single line. The V (stbd cleat => pennant => port cleat) should never be the 'final' tie since it creates a chaff point in the line right at the pennant's eye. You can hear Lyn talking about doubling the line (which she does, probably in the next minute or two, but not on cam) - which is best shown around the 7:46 pint in the video. Her final tie, with two lines, stbd/port cleat to the pennant and then back to the same cleat is great. This prevents the line from 'sliding' back and forth through the eye, which, over time, would saw the line in half.

      I wish we had filmed us doing that. Not sure why we didn't. At least we filmed the final result as we passed by on the dinghy.

    Your wife has grown in her confidence handling that ship (too big to be a boat in my opinion). That’s been an interesting development. Thanks for sharing.

    Was that a Roger Out from Lyn @ 10:25? Was very faint so it only gets a 5.3 (out of a possible score of 10).
    Snorkeling on the wrecked aircraft looked awesome…. As did the scene at that chill beach bar. Fantastic. Loved the music, and the video flash effect at the end!

      Blame me, that was my editing that faded her. 😁 Thanks. The music was a bit dramatic at the end but I just use what I am feeling at the time. Same with the effect.

    That's a nice tender. Gotta love a whaler. When towing it, do you try to get it to surf the wake for better fuel economy?

    • @tryingnottosink9107
      @tryingnottosink9107  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, we like it, although it is very heavy. We don't worry about fuel economy with it. I just put it back far enough that it seems stable. I am always afraid it is going to sink.

    It's interesting that the local authorities never pulled that plane up, it could do a lot of damage to another boat at night. I'm sure it's on maps, but still...

    • @tryingnottosink9107
      @tryingnottosink9107  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are several planes in shallow areas in the Exumas. I don't think they have the resources there. Plus, they become tourist drawls. Yes, they are on the maps.

  • @lkeil84

    The mangrove River at Shroud Cay is where we met up with Shenanigans. We saw them later also at Warderick Wells this last season, I think about the same time as your videos. You can check out our one ad only video so far at this link. I posted a video of the Huricane at the harbor we were at, but the owners got real pissed and threatened to sue me if I didn't take it down, so I did. Just been really busy on our house and boat since we got back. Saturday, the marina asked us all to leave by 3 pm Monday since they need a major rebuild. I will repost a video of the harrowing experience the hurricane was there in Charleston on the Ashley River. Got tons of video, I just need to start editing.

    I don't know if she was being serious within the first 5 minutes I heard her say too bad you spent all the money on the cruise ship and it's raining... How much do that boat cost? I mean not only does it take a fortune to probably run....

    • @tryingnottosink9107
      @tryingnottosink9107  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      She was being serious. Our trip lasts for months, so a few rainy days is not a big deal. But if you book a 5 day cruise and it rains it is a shame. She was just sad for the guests. We used to take cruises all the time and weather was important.
