- Trout fishing in Japan is great fun and very rewarding, but it can go very very wrong! Unexpectedly may I add.
In Japan there are rules and regulations on what fish you can catch and at certain times of year these regulations can be rather inconvienient. Or should I say the forbidden fish become an annoyance!
In this video, we are dont some japanese trout fishing in Hokkaido, hunting for a big trout, sadly we never managed to catch that big trout, but we did manage to catch some other fish!! Trout lure fishing is great fun and a productive way of catching fish! Just not the fish we wanted on this occassion....!

I don't blame you, I wouldn't do anything which ment I might go to prison, especially there.
I knew someone who went to prison in Thailand and that was very bad apparently.

Hi Harry! Excellent video! Your channel has inspired me and my brother to go Fishing in Scotland for salmon and trout. Hoping to catch and eat it (YUM). We saw your video on the river Annan but we don't know the best spot, the rules and we haven't found anywhere to inform us about this. You have any recommendations?
Hi mate!!! Glad it’s given you some inspiration and good luck when you head out! Town stretches normally allow spinning but a lot of tickets only allow fly and spinning when the river is a certain height (check locally!) however, in the UK I would recommend catch and release due to the reduced numbers in the river these days! I’m not being a snowflake on this but just more out of respect 🫡

It does seem all doom and gloom in the UK I won’t lie and it isn’t pulling me back! I won’t lie I’m pretty happy here, I’ve bounced around the world and the UK and never felt as at home and at peace as I do here - looks like I’m staying for a while 🤣 thanks for your words mate!
What kind of salmon was it obv some kind of pacific salmon?
It’s called a cherry salmon, they are similar to the springer strain in the UK - maybe a salmon sea trout cross haha! Hopefully some will appear on the channel soon 🥹
