I found a about 2 second time save. So basically, you click R to redo the first level as soon as you hit the flag. Doesn’t have to be frame perfect. I discovered this by doing a speed run with a bad start, so I redid the level as I hit the flag. It took me to level 2 and reset the timer, hope this is useful if you read it
you are correct, 48 has some room for improvement. ovo's tas tools are very limited, and if you mess up during a tas, you have to reset. this makes longer levels and levels with inconsistent tricks much harder to tas. 48 is not only the longest level in the game by far, but it also has multiple 50/50 tricks throughout the level. (if you were curious) I looked through the whole level extensively, and these were all the timesaves I spotted: (timestaps are going off the level time) general timesaves: 4.47: ground pound could have been done sooner, reducing unnecessary airtime, saving ~0.05s 12.00: it was possible to slide jump 1-2 frames earlier here while still ceiling bumping in the right spot. this saves ~0.02s at the most 16.94: this is the exact time that the gate opened wide enough to fit through, however the player entered 0.10s later. therefore, there's 0.10s more to save here. 19.60: the gap could be dived through 0.10s earlier, same case as prior potential strat improvements: 3.80: a way to avoid this ground pound could save up to 0.3s. there's a separate glitch that makes it possible to fall through hashes quicker, which could save up to 0.2s in addition to the other timesave, although a setup that doesn't die to the rockets has yet to be found. 12.73: in this spot, you can dive right without wallsliding by pressing down and left on the exact same frame. this is not only very risky that far in the level, but it's a very obscure trick that Fade likely didn't know about. this would save ~0.04s 13.80: diving into the button would extend the hitbox forward, reaching the switch (exactly) 0.05s earlier 16ish: using a very similar trick to level 2, you could fall down, before instantly regaining speed. this may or may not save time at all, but it wouldn't save more than 0.15s for sure 17.70: using the prior trick, you could land in a wavedash after falling down, then use a glitch that I refuse to explain at the moment, then wall jump, then the player gets a forceful down push. this would certainly avoid the rocket, and might save up to 0.2s 19.24: slide jumping slightly later would set up for the same trick as prior in this spot
@@sam_underscore Apologies I had had the glitch of falling through the floor and assumed that that was consistently possible but after doing some research I learned that that's not the case and I just got really lucky.
Though something I do have a question about is how do you clip through the walls in some of the levels? I've done a lot of research and can't figure it out
Spikes actually are horrible to deal with. You die when in contact with them for 3 frames in version 1.4.4 of OvO, you you have to have enough speed to go through them in less than ~0.05 seconds
There are some glitches that will make you clip through the walls. This is also a TAS or a tool assisted speedrun which uses tools to make it more easier to clip and stuff like that.
i get that theyre like professionals and allat, but there are things here that dont make a drop of sense, like he literraly went through the spikes like they were non existent
Tool Assisted speedrun. Basically, it uses tools to make the game more optimised without actually changing the code, and showing what is the theoretical "perfect" speedrun. For this game, it's done by playing in slow-motion and splicing the footage of each level together.

wow way better than a regular run. Glitches on 11, 17, 52 are insane.
havent speedran this game since just after 1.4.4, this is so different than what it used to be.
It’s a TAS it’s meant to be fast don’t worry
But it it is different

Glitch, found and not allowed
the best speed run so far
Level 17 has very small time save possibilities
I beat the tas in that level
You need to have a low frame rate like 50 hertz at least I think then I think you can just 1fsj and dive last second
This is great! Though i do wanna say that i think some time could be saved on kevel 48.
How so? We've done rigorous testing and this is the fastest route we found.

hey why don't people use these strats in normal runs I don't understand there way faster.

Bro how do you jump up the side of a wall and just go straight up. I’ve been grinding and I’m only on level 48???
it’s called a uwj. if your near a wall and facing the opposite direction while touching the wall, you can do an unlimited wall jump (uwj).

How do you make a TAS in a game that is in a website?
i get that theyre like professionals and allat, but there are things here that dont make a drop of sense, like he literraly went through the spikes like they were non existent
That’s because they 2 frames in the spike and carried enough speed to touch the spikes for 5 centiseconds and not die.

Where's levels 53-61?
They are only in the Cool Math Games version, which isn't what the main speedruns are done on.

Not cheating, as it doesn't compete with RTA times or leaderboards, and everything shown is possible without using hacks or modifications 🙂
