This guy does a nice straight to the point review and installation. But, I got incredibly distracted by him saying, "I am going to go ahead and..." OMG, He uses it in almost every other sentence!
Again, this would be a very good to excellent presentation if it wasn't for that one issue.

Did this require a jumper cable for the existing doorbell chime component? Will your existing doorbell chime component still work? Are there jumper wires included if your existing doorbell wires are too short?

Did you ever get the angle plate? What angle degree did you choose? 15, 30 or 45 degrees?

How are you getting power when the doorbell breaks the neutral and that's it

The motion detection doesn't work for crap. You'll get an alert every 10 seconds even if u block off every single square. Other than that it works fine as a doorbell and camera. Pisses me off that the motion detection app doesn't work.

Does simple safe have a wireless doorbell that doesn’t require wiring ?

Agreed SimpliSafe system is easy to install. It's a good monitoring system but for the poor quality of their video doorbell camera from internet connectivity standpoint.
I did purchase it along with the Video Doorbell Camera but the camera goes offline (no live stream) with a message 'Disconnected from the internet' every 2-3 minutes. SimpliSafe attributed it to my poor Wi-Fi network when in fact I have 5 GHz-600 MBS speed bandwidth along with six Google Nest Wi-Fi routers.
When I complained to SimpliSafe, they asked me to the split the Wi-Fi network into 2.4ghz and 5ghz since SimpliSafe doorbell camera works only with 2.4ghz bandwith (this they do NOT say anywhere). I did the split and connected the SimpliSafe doorbell camera to 2.4ghz Wi-Fi network but in vain. The camera went offline as ever before. They sent me a replacement camera which too had the same 'going offline every 2-3 minutes' issue.
I repeatedly called SimpliSafe and asked for a good solution. They had the cheek to say I should move my internet router (which is about 10 feet away from the doorbell camera) closer to the doorbell camera. That was the last straw that broke the camel's back and I canceled my subscription service. While the rest of the SimpliSafe system works, the doorbell camera does not since it's outdated. Today's doorbell cameras support dual bandwith (2.4ghz and 5ghz) and SimpliSafe lags behind, thanks to their outdated technology.
I am currently using the SimpliSafe doorbell camera without the video recording feature from the web interface (smart app disabled due to my monthly subscription cancelation) though the the camera goes offline every 2-3 minutes but then I am not paying $27.99 for the poor quality of the camera. I can't return the equipment since I am past the product return window.

Unless you have 10k sqft you have too many wifi routers. You can oversaturate the area.

@@edwardbroaddus2855 I disagree with what you have stated. I now have Google Nest Video Doorbell camera and three Google Nest WiFi outdoor cameras and they work very well. Especially, the Google Nest Door Bell Video camera live streams footage without any lag or glitches and I love it. SimpliSafe Door Bell Camera system is outdated since it's compatible with 2.4 GHZ only whereas their other security monitoring system is very good.

What voltage come from the breaker,s box?

    • @crisp1066
      @crisp1066 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Typically 120 VAC that feeds a transformer that reduces voltage to 24 volts to feed your doorbell.

He forgot the small screw that gets installed after the installation and setup are complete.

They also forget to ring the bell to let us know how loud it is. Also are there pre-recorded statements ie not able to come to the door right now etc. Does it speak to the visitor n does it tell you someone is at the door or does everything just glow as an alert by simplisafe? Thanks. J

Simplisafe told me it’s low voltage no need to find circuit? This seems inaccurate and none of the circuits are labeled.

I hate the fact that the thing talks as you’re setting it up.
