TomPetty was one of a kind. Brilliant songwriter, 3 chords and he nailed whatever suject he was singing about. Anyone could relate to his lyrics, you listen and say," yep, ive been there." He had tremendous insight into people, situations ,and what makes them tick. And, put that insight into a song. Genius with pure talent. One of the few who truly are gifted
He was asked once if he watched shows like American Idol, to whicj he replied," nah, i dont watch game shows." 😅😂
THAT was his brilliance!!! So truthful. Gone way to soon. Miss him and his music. RIP Tom 🙏

I saw Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers back in the late 70’s and that was it I was hooked ! I just loved his music and he himself was such a kind and genuine person! He is forever in my heart and I continue to listen to his songs as he’s one of my favorites! I’ll bet he’s singing in Heaven keeping our Lord happy ! Rest in Peace Tom Petty ! You left us way too soon and you’ll never be forgotten my friend! ❤💫😇🙏🦋🌟💞🫶🏻✌🏼

Ashamed to say that I didn't know much about Tom Petty when he was alive, other than him being a Travelling Willbury. Then Kurt Vile brought me to his music. With new fans like me and old ones like you, he lives on. Peace.
So many of the musicians I respect most talk about how they grew up listening to music in their homes, from classic country, to soul, to funk, to blues, to jazz, hip hop, classical, the American songbook...
Listening to the music of past generations is how we get music for new generations.

And while there are some fine covers on this LP (I mean, look at the material source!) much like Lucky, nobody can sing/perform Petty like TP did. He left us with a void so big, it could crush this town...

Someone had to say it and I’m glad you did. I love Tom Petty and his music I always have and I always will. I own all his records and I’ve seen him in concert 23 times but I am not feeling this record at all and it seems like a cash grab. that is heartbreaking.🎩🎸 Tom Petty will always be my friend. I think Adria has so much to do with that. All of the things they sell now that WE ALL KNOW Tom wouldn't have sold...candles, beach balls n towels, much more that he'd NEVER sell!!
