INSTALLING A NEW DEFENDER 90 WINDSCREEN!

Hello everyone,
In today’s video we put the windscreen back on the Defender. We knew this was going to be a fiddly job and considering we’ve never done anything like it before we are very happy with the results.
Using a thin rope is definitely the way to go, but we were perhaps a bit premature in pulling the rope before we had the windscreen in the right position, which then meant using a kitchen utensils (not ideal) to get the last few corners around the lip.
As Ben also mentions in the video, we have finished the painting, so now we refit the doors and start putting the interior back together.

Hey guys! You have to swap your sun visors I think because otherwise your mirror won't fit. I almost made the same mistake when restoring my defender ;)

Rope? Should have used paracord guys, rope is too thick, hence you struggling, you've also fitted the sun visors to the wrong sides, the cutout is to clear the centre mirror and the document holder should face upwards. 👍

Washing up liquid and a bit of water not WD40 boys.
I did my screen in 20 minutes on my own - A national windscreen company changed it recently and it took them 4 separate visits and two screens!
In the end I got a OEM screen - Pilkington plus OEM LR screen rubber and the regional manager to fit it. Apparently the fitters are so unused to screen rubber installs none of them know what they are doing.
Heated and tinted BTW - result but took over two weeks to have fitted.

i did one of these a while ago on my own was an fing nightmare took me ages you need to do it in a hot garage or hot day to get the rubber nice and soft plenty washing up liquid and strong string
