Motone Customs Engine Cover Install

Thought I'd make a video my install process to help anyone thinking about doing the wrenching themselves. Process is not hard. Just take your time and familiarize yourself with your service manual. Shown here on a 2016 Triumph Thruxton 1200, but process will be similar on all applicable modern Triumphs.

Ok. Wow. This guide is awesome but glosses over some of the parts that were harder (for me). Taking out those bearings from the clutch cover is where I threw in the towel. Nice job on the video! But, I know where my mechanical skill limit is. 😂

You don’t need to remove the oem bearings from the oem cover. You should be installing new bearings. Keep them in the freezer before install, and heat the bearing cavities of the new cover before putting them in.

The parts guide shows gaskets, I think (my Bonneville does). But I never saw any on yours. Am I drunk again?

there are indeed gaskets for both covers. 1:36 mark there's a note to make sure the surface is clean before installing new gasket. New gasket is already in place at the 1:37 mark. Be careful on the alternate side. The magnet is strong and if your gasket isn't seated nicely, cover could rip it (ask me how I know lol) I found that just a couple little dabs of gasket maker silicone to hold the gasket in place against the engine worked great,

Great video! How many hrs did the whole process take?

Because I was filming with 3 cameras simultaneously, setting up different lighting and shots, and also learning as I was going, it was over the span of 2 days.
That being said, if I did it again, I could probably do everything in under 8 hours. As long as you familiarize yourself (or print out the necessary pages) of your service manual, it’s not bad.

Is the process similar for a Bonneville T100 2020?
