    Hey mate, I bought a Bushwakka Extreme 270 about a month ago. Woulda liked the TruBlue but the budget didn’t allow. I found your previous review super helpful and was vigilant when it came to getting stronger mounting legs. Jonny and the guys were super helpful and even installed it for me at the warehouse.
    Thanks for the reviews, keep up the great work!

    Thanks for the honest and thorough review. Personally I think alucab is an over priced and over rated product.
    I think the new 270 Bush company awning is excellent and appears to be the strongest on the market.
    I also really like the howling moon awning as the poles recede into the arms.
    Cheers
    Mick

    Should also compare the Quick Pitch Weathershade 20sec? Great review 🤙

    Been searching for a 270 and this is the one I would prefer. Cost hurts, plus I want the sides, but your review has helped keep me on track. Just going to have to keep saving. Never seen a sale either☹

      Yeah from someone who was the poor man who paid twice I’d recommend saving up and buying a good one. So far pretty happy with the True Blue, gotta get out in this nice weather and use it more to really give it a good test out but so far the more I use it the more I like it.

    Did not like the flex when you were putting it away. I think that another support bracket behind the hinge mounted back on the rack will fix that issue and some snap on clips riveted to the trusses will solve the leg issue when you are packing it up. Other than that it looks a good bit of gear.

    If you put a piece of hook or loop velcro on the back plate, you will be able to stick the velcro straps up out of the way when the awning is open.

      That’s a nice idea. I might give that a go.

    Keep the zippers at the rear to avoid rattle noise well driving. Tim Bates tip.

      Thanks again, are you still happy with your true blue awning??

    • @JebbreysJibberish
      @JebbreysJibberish  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah still using it. All good except that issue with the bracket placement. I also had to take the brackets off and repaint them as they were getting surface rust and staining the side of the car. I had it setup next to a Bush Company awning my friend had the other day and I must say the strength of the arms on the bush company made my True Blue look like a toy… canvas looked good too. Although I haven’t seen the quick pitch I’d put that is the basket to look at as well. I still love the side walls on the True Blue, they are excellent.

      Yeah used it quite a few times. Taking it camping again this weekend. The walls are amazing. I’m going to do a video about those soon with a bit of a longer term review. So far so good I’ve put lights on it and come up with a cool way to sort out those crappy leg ties as well. It’s definitely not as strong as the Alu-cab but bigger and more flexible. At this stage not going back to the Alu-cab.

    How come you didn’t go with the supapeg version? Their leg storage is a better job.

    • @JebbreysJibberish
      @JebbreysJibberish  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a good question. I didn’t know about the super peg version until after this one arrived and to be honest haven’t had much to do with it although their awnings seem reasonably priced but I don’t know if they are free standing? I would be interested to find out more.

      My mate has the super peg 270 and it's a pain in the ass to setup. You pretty much need two people and it's not free standing.
      These shit all over them from the looks of it.

    How does the awning go in wind, can it stay free standing or do you need to always run the poles ?

    • @JebbreysJibberish
      @JebbreysJibberish  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Look they are supposed to be freestanding up to 25-30kmh but I don’t carry an anemometer around with me so generally put the legs down unless it’s a very short stop in a sheltered spot (maybe down by the river surrounded by trees etc). WA has a habit of gusty winds coming out of nowhere so even with the alu-cab I’d drop the poles especially if setting up on the beach or for an overnighter. It takes 2 seconds so not a bit deal. Makes me relax more. We had a Willy Willy come through out of nowhere at Lake Brockman on an otherwise still day, it destroyed a brand new gazebo in the camp next to us. I’m glad I’d dropped the poles and put some screw in pegs into the pole feet with the impact driver, just to be safe. If I hadn’t of I don’t know what would have happened it was a crazy blow and out of nowhere. I’ve seen plenty of people who don’t but I’d rather be safe than sorry myself.
