England should build the team around this lad, and yeah Bellingham is something else, but Palmer is set to be one of the top 5/10 players in world football. Dump him in as a 10 and work from there in terms of who makes the team and how they play.
How Foden kept him out of the England team in the Euros is a mystery, as is his failing to win the PFA last year.

Jude in a double pivot with Rice, Foden in the number 10 and Palmer in a false 9 position who can interchange with Foden, with Jude coming in from deeper playmaker position.

I think palmer needs to start for England over Bellingham, I feel like Bellingham’s attitude often poor when things aren’t going his way and he goes missing for long periods in big games. Palmer is the exact opposite of this and would be a batter playmaker for England.

You should really only look at non-penalty gaols - npxG over a couple seasons if you're using it to say someone is a good finisher. Players can run hot and cold from year to year. Someone like Messi, for example, overperformed his xG number over most seasons whereas most top (but not uber elite) players hover around their xG numbers.

It's better for such a young player to be underrated or unnoticed than to be talked about along the greatest that have veer played - which by itself is evidence that these stats dont mean much in the making of the greats. Haaland is an outright striker mate, Palmer ain't a striker at all and to put 22 goals just behind Halaand last season is a feat in itself. Don't forget this guy had 11 assists on top of that as well. Since his debut at Chelsea Fc he's more influential than Halaan with 43 g/a, that alone speaks volume.
