Thank you so much for posting this footage. While all of these people are strangers to me, the activities and the surroundings all remind me of my own family in those days. Looked like a "down the cellar" party to me - exactly like my family had....and a fun family. Drinking and laughing and games! An ashtray on every table. A bar in a room with wood paneling! SO many things seen in these videos we had in my family home in those days. The "pass the apple" game looked like fun. I don't know what that later game was with the "thing" carried in the knees and passed around - but it looked a little dirty and bet everyone was laughing silly! Great whimsical music to back it all up. I don't know you, Dave- but thanks for the footage!
Thanks for watching and commenting Joe K. I found these old films that my grandfather taped on 8mm reels after my father died. I had them converted digitally by a company called Legacy Box. I put them on here to share with the family that remains, so they may see their elder relatives. My family had a long line of jokesters and pranksters. Always having fun, and yes the older ones chain smoked and drank and laughed a lot. The game you mentioned; they were passing a carrot between their knees. Cool game to play for zero money. Looked like fun. I’m glad you enjoyed this film. Thanks again for your friendly comment✌️
Really hard to see the exact model, but I suspect the car at 11:58 is a 1969 Chevrolet Impala, so this could be from mid 1968 on. Very enjoyable video. I have played many party games, but that "pass the carrot" was hilarious! A new game for this Christmas! Thank you so much for sharing!
thanks so much Dave for doing this. I will now be able to show my sons a video of the their grandpa that they never met and one was named after. They knew how to have fun and loved each other.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I will be posting another video in a couple days. There are 12 in total, most of which have both of your parents in. Stay tuned, and don’t forget to like & subscribe to the channel, lol.
The good ole days when families "tried" to get along and faked it well. I do miss those days, the sounds of women's laughter, kids silliness and men bragging about cars and fishing. Good video, thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching Steven. These were old 8mm videos I found in a chest and converted to digital for the family. The family lived in the Mid-West, USA
@@jimmyjames6267 no worries. I looked at it again and it does look suspicious. My grandma is the lady in the back. She was always full of energy, I guess we know why, lol. Ps, I think they were signing something, but it definitely looked like they were partying at first glance.
They bang on about the 60's , But they were not there, I was, and I tell you, it was the best time to be growing up,
This is what life is like when everyone goes to church on sunday.
You can even smell the wonderful atmosphere, Happy days for sure. Enjoy them while you may, good times like this are hard to come by.
Thank you for your kind words. I wish you many moments of happiness and good times.
@@DavesGarage365 Thank you Dave, That's much appreciated.
Thank you for sharing 😊
My pleasure 😊

Looks like a good time had by all.
Thoroughly enjoyed this! Too bad there's no sound, would've loved to hear the banter, music, etc. Thanks Dave! Happy New Year
Wow, very wonderful thing to see.
Doesn’t look too cold in the outside shots, where about did they live, if you don’t mind me asking?
