    For those who are asking where did the Final Reserve of 18gal(108lbs) of fuel went? The answer is that Final Reserve is already a part of Block Fuel, just like how the crew is included in DOW.
    Block Fuel is Taxi Fuel+Trip Fuel+Contingency Fuel+Alternate Fuel+Final Reserve+Extra Fuel(optional). It is basically all the fuel quantity you have in your tanks

    Hello, I have made this calculation, first of all I subtracted the taxi and trip fuel from the block then I added it to bem plus operational equipment plus pilot and pax plus cargo, result is the same but seen from a quicker point of view because of the short time during the exam, it took to me to the final results of 2588,8 lbs

    mass and weight are not synonims and not even close to be the same.
    one of them is a vector which is variable, dependence on acceleration of the other one, which is constant and scalar.

    Thank you so much for these! Can you make a series where you explain ATC comms and use some real examples from previous videos? Like just regular, comms and whatnot.

      @@VASAviation oh i didn't see this till now-my bad for the late reply...
      Honestly, what would greatly help would be a intro video, and then you could make a series where you cover comms involved in flying in a Class (B, C, or D) airport, and then CTAF, etc.
      And what would especially help would be some practice parts in the video (you act as the tower, there's a silent period, and then some words appear on the screen for what you're supposed to say for example). That's generally what I am thinking...

    Im still watching (around 9 minutes) and Im curious if you'll mention cases when your TOW is lower than LW. Yes, it does happen, and often. But, civil aviation doesnt have aerial refueling lol. So that was one extra thing we had to take into account. Planes coming back with more fuel, and if you had to do a MLG swing test on the groand, and thought, its ok, the jet will come back with less fuel....only to find it now has 250,000 lbs...guess what. Now you have to defuel all of that lol.
    And don't get me started on the tankers. (I think publically its listed at 375,000lbs of fuel but its more...)

    9:04 I guess the Ramp Mass (RM) to Take-Off Mass (TOM) must be considered negligible (even though taxi can be lengthy) because they set the V1,V2 bugs at the ramp, correct? Or do they revise the bugs prior to takeoff?

    • @VASAviation
      @VASAviation  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Speeds are usually calculated according to TOM which already is RM minus expected TAXI FUEL

    • @atubebuff
      @atubebuff 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VASAviation But on the Ramp when you set the bugs you don't yet know what the Taxi Fuel will be. I guess the point is that it doesn't matter much if the entered TOM is heavier than actual (due to a looooong taxi making - TOM lighter). The bugs will just be set for faster which isn't too much of a concern.

    • @VASAviation
      @VASAviation  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Taxi fuel is calculated according to the time you expect to be taxiing from gate to runway
