I'm only 15 years old, and I'm currently in a trade school learning Modern Automotive Technology, and I wanted to setup my pneumatic tools in my garage. This video is insane, it shows you everything from simple 1 step no brainers to the technical aspects of compressors, tools, and what not. This is the only video out there on the entire topic of Pneumatic Tool Setup.

I just bought an air compressor last year. The instructions were pretty vague, but I knew enough to set it up and to use it. What I didn't know and learned from this video, is that the tool will still be operational when the tank/compressor stops when reaching a certain PSI. I've always used it during and when it stopped, would wait, release air, and try again. lol I'm a total noob, but now I knew better. This will help with future projects as I'm not a particular fan of the noise and always wondered how people in videos were using their air compressor tools and you can't hear the air compressor running. I feel more like a pro now after watching this. I appreciate the use of the proper vernacular so as to also educate. Good stuff.

I'm a professor and had years of training on teaching techniques and approaches, and she is much better than not only me but most, if not all, other professors I know.
If I were her I would consider selling a product line. For example, a "kit" that sells all the fittings needed for an air compressor.

Leah, thank you so much! A friend gave me a compressor with a brad nailer/stapler. I have chairs I'm reupholstering and wanted to use the air stapler but had no idea what I needed. I knew about different coupler sizes but had no idea of the connections and how to fit the hose. You've cleared up a lot for me. And I must tell you, I've gone to both Lowe's and Home Depot and while the clerks are helpful in directing me to the correct aisle, NO ONE has EVER taken the time to show me how to use the equipment. When I asked about purchasing a nailer, the clerk, on that occasion, pointed me to the aisle but then told me I'd have to buy all the other equipment (compressor, etc). Instead of sticking around, he just took off. He had no idea that he might have made a sale if he had just taken the time to actually show me the tools I needed and a quick demo on how to use them. I was so angry, I left the store (Home Depot in this case) and never went back for any of their tools! In the meantime, I've purchased tools as I need them. Your videos have made a world of difference for me!

Bought our first portable air compressor yesterday, at Harbor Freight. We explicitly told them we knew nothing about the product's setup and asked the sales rep to show us everything we'd need to buy to get it running with an air hammer.
Result: They sold us the wrong hose size, and mentioned nothing about needing couplers and plugs. Grrrr.
So of course, (after losing 1/2 a day's work on our reno project) we turned to Leah to figure out what we needed. Thanks, Leah!

bought one last week and asked the guys if it comes with the main coupler and was told no i have to buy one separately only to find one in the packet of the castors. Most sales people don't know the products they selling. They are too lazy to learn about products they no nothing about.

Leah....you're an absolute God-send to us mere mortals. It seems like every teacher out there is more concerned with showing us their endless level of knowledge, as opposed to helping people actually learn. And, make NO mistake....there is a HUGE difference between the two. Thank you for all you do, and knowing how incredibly important the "basics" are. As a music teacher I have a saying I tell my students. There is no such thing as "advanced", or "master" level of anything.....just people who have a complete/thorough understanding of the basics, and those who don't.

Leah, I can not thank you enough for this video. I'm hoping I get an air compressor for fathers day this year, and without watching this video I wouldn't have known the adapter pieces and filters didn't come with the compressor. also didn't know about adding the oil to the tools before use. Thank you so much Leah!!!

Hey Leah! Thanks for the video. See even old dogs such as myself can still learn. I have seen seasoned mechanics waive using Teflon tape simply because they felt it "too much effort" for a temporary setup. I've mentioned that "sealing the threads" from leaks is just one of many reasons that thread tape is important.
There's a natural covalent bond that occurs between two like and dissimilar metals. What that means; an electrical charge passes between the two materials upon contact which promotes corrosion, thread tape helps prevent this phenomena. (MIL-STD-186F)
Most importantly, it guards against "cross threading" or "galling" your threads (damage). I enjoyed your video so keep them coming.

Only use oil specifically labeled "air oil" or "air tool oil". Some of the oil used in air tools gets into the air you are breathing as a fine mist. Air oil is safe to breathe (castor oil I think), while other types of oil (e.g. engine oil) are mineral oil with additives which will be bad for your lungs.
Sorry if this is already covered, I just skimmed this video.

Thanks for clarifying the type of oil to use. It was a BIG help, especially health wise. Had that question on my mind while watching the video. Would have asked Leah or used a household oil. Big mistake ! Thanks again.

    Leah, THANK YOU!
My car tires were low. I went to BJ'S to use their air compressor. Instead of putting air in, it came out. I went back the next week and it was still broken. I drove all the way out to WaWa. Their compressor was broken too. I went to Mavis Discount Tire Store and a nice worker inflated my tires.
I decided then and there I was buying an air compressor. I bought a Kobalt 6 pound pancake air compressor.
I thought everything came with the compressor. Silly me! I bought a 25' Craftsman's rubber hose and Kobalt connector set with a blow gun and air chuck.
Wasn't totally sure how to connect everything together until now. Your video was both educational and enjoyable, thank you for giving me the confidence to set up my air compressor and usd it.
