@BulanCengizTurkthe khazar hypothesis is antisemitic and not supported by any genetic studies. Israel is illegitimate not because Jews don’t have significant common ancestry with Palestinians, they do, even Ashkenazi Jews, genetics have ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with it. Even if ALL the Palestinians were literally all immigrants from a hundred years before Israel existed, they are indigenous because they were colonized, because they were the people residing on the land which was seized from them in order to set up a colonial settler state for one ethnicity through the mass slaughter and ethnic cleansing of the people there
@BulanCengizTurkthe worst part of this argument is that it legitimizes the very grounds that Israel bases its existence on as if having ancestors reside in an area 2000 years ago legitimizes a colonial ethnostate. Even if Israelis were all literally 100 percent descended somehow from the Jews who were expelled by the Roman state, it would not legitimate their project.

Yeah, colonialism. Because a small ethnostate, whose area is 30 (THIRTY) times smaller than Texas alone, and most of it consists of mountains and desert, is a definition of colonialism.

I'm Israeli and I've been opposing the oppression of the Palestinians for decades now, ever since I started understanding what's going on. I was always in the vast minority in my objection, but I always did have *some* support - or so I thought. Since October 7th I realized that I had even fewer allies than before, as even the vast majority of my "leftist" "friends" are supporting all the bombing and violence completely, with idiotic arguments like "it's all Hamas's fault", "Hamas is the real oppressor in Gaza", "we have no choice but to eliminate Hamas in order to defend the Palestinians", and more such infuriating nonsense, riddled with incredible ignorance about the history of this place and even what's going on right now. Again, this is the way supposed *leftists* are talking, the vast majority are just outright calling for the complete annihilation of Gaza and the deportation and/or extermination of the population there. I've gotten hundreds of death threats for daring to speak out against Zionism and against the actions of my people, and for defending the Palestinians. I've also been ridiculed, shamed, insulted and persecuted - and I don't even have a big following on social media or anything... I've had to break ties with many friends already after being deeply disappointed and horrified with their indifference or support for the genocide in Gaza, and everything feels so dark and desperate and terrifying. The people of the world must understand that Zionism is literally an ethnic murderous cult, that functions as a huge echo-chamber where Jewish-Israelis consume constant propaganda on the media and in general society, and there is a huge mechanism of obfuscation and denial of basic reality. The only way that this can stop is if the governments of the rest of the world, and especially the EU, the UK and of course the US stop supporting this psychotic cult and its genocidal actions. I urge everyone here to spread more information about what's going on in my land, demand their governments to stop supporting Israel, both diplomatically and monetarily, and to start denouncing the horrendous actions against the Palestinians and demand an immediate ceasefire, followed by swift diplomatic actions to achieve peace, equality and justice for everyone living here.
Thank you for your courageous stand. Please be strong but, like the dissident Isreali scholar Ilan Pape did, you might consider migrating to another country if you are still young. I'd recommend a Latin American country - particularly Chile, Brazil, or Colombia.
@@nattycooper6622 I don't know, but what I do know is that the more people and governments around the world object to a genocide, the harder it is to carry it out. I'm sure if countries like the UK and France opposed the Nazis from the beginning (which they didn't, because they were very much aligned in their white supremacist, capitalist and colonial attitudes), then they would have had a much harder time carrying out their atrocities, and my grandfather's entire family might not have been brutally slaughtered. In any case, a significant difference is that Germany was one of the biggest and most powerful countries in the world, while Israel is a very small country (albeit with disproportionate military power), so international pressure, or at the very least the reduction of international support, can have a much greater effect on it.
@@Aquadolphin314Yeah, actually, if only the capitalists wanted to ally with the Soviet Union instead of appeasement, but that is wishful thinking from me and Stalin himself
This was extremely eye-opening. Always wondered why Israel gets unconditional support, and I knew that Israel is one of the main factors in the destabilisation of the middle-east in the 20th and 21st century, but I had never actually connected the dots about Israel existing for the purpose of preventing the creation of an EU style organisation in the middle-east. Think of how powerful that would be considering the geographical location and natural resources. Imagine a unified institution that can restrict the supply of oil at will like what happened in the 1973 oil crisis. The us could not afford that for sure.
yes, its never been about democracy and peace. They have worked hard at making the Middle East unstable, putting extremists and dictators in charge and misrepresenting Arabs as savages and a monoculture that is an enemy of and unlike the west
Most Americans (as well as Common wealth countries like Canada and Australia) can't honestly acknowledge that what colonizers who established colonies did to indigenous people in the Americas and Australia (and more) was genocide, the residual effects still being felt today. Would you honestly expect them (neo-libs and conservatives alike) to do the same with Isreal? Acknowledging that Isreal is commiting ethnic cleansing would be a reflection our country's own personal ethics, because Isreal is just playing from the same colonialist rule book western countries have been using for centuries. Afterall, Isreal is a direct byproduct of British imperialism in 1918 when the British sought to establish a "Jewish Nation". It feels surreal learning about Western expansionism and manifest destiny more recently and seeing parallels between those events and what is occurring today.
But the reverse is also true. Israel is build on the narrative that the Jews are the indigenous population of the region. If you follow the same logic (without questioning how valid it is for the state of Israel), you should conclude that the indigenous populations of the US, Canada, Australia, etc, have a right to the land, and can in fact subject everyone else to an apartheid state. {edit: please do your best to understand what i'm saying before repliying, and read the thread: I'm saying that taking the Zionist justification as valid and defending it is hypocritical for a colonial state. That does not imply in any way that _I_ personaly take it at face value}
It's embarrassingly, almost cartoonishly, cognitively dissonant that Joe Biden, who opposed apartheid in South Africa, supports apartheid in Palestine. Israel must leave now.
@@frechjo "Israel is build on the narrative that the Jews are the indigenous population of the region." yes, but in this case "israelis" are lying and distorting the truth, whereas indigenous australians/americans aren't.
@@rhumal Dude, I literally said "without questioning how valid it is" next to that. I'm not saying it's true, it's not, please pay some more attention next time.
I think there's a more emotional reason too, which also explains the average person's support for Israel. You may get to it, in which case I will correct this comment (I'm about 2/3 the way thru your video). I think there's a huge amount of western guilt for 2,000 years of antisemitism culminating in the Holocaust. So when the state of Israel was formed many people in the West went, "oh that's nice, they finally get a place of their own." And of course nobody in the West had to give up a single thing, even though WE have been responsible for the creation of antisemitism. Just a bunch of ay-rabs that had to get out of the way, and who cares about them? Add to that the number of people, especially in the US, who treat bible stories as literal history and you get this bizarre standard that is not applied anywhere else in the entire world.
I mean, theres a massive proportion of Westerners who are supporting all this simply because they are still anti-semetic. Christian Zionists make up something like 85-90% of all Zionists in the world and their entire schtick is predicated on the eventual wiping out of all Jews. I do agree with you however that for your average, everyday joe/jane doe Westerner, it is some sort of guilt. Especially in Germany, as an example. Lets just not gloss over that the entire reason Israel exists is anti-semitism that was prevalent less than 100 years ago. Thats not too many generations ago. Israel itself was formed by anti-semetic Europeans, not as a response to anti-semetism but because they didnt want them in Europe.
The guilt you speak of was induced by mid-20th century propaganda, when television was new enough that the then-young baby boomer generation got completely hypnotized by it and uncritically believed everything the TV told them. Critical thinking has been making a comeback ever since the internet enabled dissenting voices to join the conversation, which is why we see a permanent decline of this induced guilt in the younger generations.
Yes. YES. This is so correct. While watching, I recalled a joke that we used to tell in Israel when I was a kid: who is the boss of the chief of staff of the army? The minister of defense. Who is his boss? The prime minister. And who is his boss? The president of the United States. From the river to the sea 🇵🇸
The president of the United States boss is right wing Zionist fifth column that runs our country and media. It's now crazy right wing cowboys or Christian Zionists. Lets not forget that!
Oh by the way. Look into Third Temple (official organizations to be exact) and it's connections with US-NY millionaires and billionaires (mostly _juice_ double citizenship) to rebuild it (red heifer, resumption of ritual sacrifices of animals and birds; Over ninety ritual objects, items, garments are already made) and prophesies they follow to succeed (war mongering, war itself and desired arab-israeli peace treaty, promised messiah). All of it is closely interconnected with global politics and economics for the past hundred years. Scary.

Thank you for being one of the few white English speakers to have the guts to call all of this out for what it is. I don't think any of us have any means of stopping this genocide in real time, but it is at least somewhat reassuring to know that we are not insane for standing with Palestine, for feeling the incompensable hurt that has been inflicted upom them for decades now, and for the firebombing that now seeks to eradicate them from our very planet. It makes me wish there was a god, so disgusting people like Joe Biden may one day receive justice. Language and my ability to use it truly fail me in this instance but I know there are people that understand me
Those who could to take real action to stop this are not doing it. Just listen to the speech given by the Hezbollah leader today. He basically says that it is a problem for the Palestinians to sort out, that it was the Palestinians who initiated this by attacking Israel on 10/7 (which is at least partially true, but anyways).
@@minna2911 yes, it is. When he says that the actions taken on 10/7 are purely Palestinian, that nobody else has had part in them, he is saying that his group won't interfere with Israel's response.

In the first 6 days of the war alone, Israel dropped 6,000 bombs on densely populated areas of the Gaza Strip. Since then, Israel has stopped reporting the number of bombs it uses, but the intense strikes continue. Yesterday, my wife and I learned that a good friend of ours lost two members of his family and four of their children. They were all killed by bombs in Gaza. They have yet to be added to the list of victims that was updated yesterday at the UN, which already numbers over 8,300. Of those, 70% are women and children. Three thousand four hundred and fifty-seven children alone have been killed. According to the UN, six times as many children have been killed in the Gaza Strip in three weeks as have been killed in Ukraine during the entire war.” But I will guess by the name that you are Ukrainian in account of all those i’s in your name.. Actually even by per-capita measures the Russian invasion was worse. Less than 1/5th of Mariupol's population survived. Even if the entire death toll in Gaza was from exclusively their smallest city, Beit Hanoun, they're not even to a quarter yet. As far as I'm aware Israel has also kidnapped zero children, while Russia kidnapped *more than half* of the children in the area's they managed to occupy.
@@ASDeckard *Less than 1/5th of Mariupol's population survived* Where does that figure even comes from? Cause you are claiming that a city that had a population of 425k or so people, had 340k or so people killed? That's a number that is close to the assumed casualities of both Ukranian and Russian troops ADDED TOGHETER, so that seems like an insane claim that I don't think anyone besides you have made so far. Unless you are counting displaced citizens as "non-surviving population", which would seem pretty misleading. *As far as I'm aware Israel has also kidnapped zero children* Yea, Israel just bombs them to pieces. Hence why more children died in Gaza in the few dies of Israeli colonial army invasion than in Ukraine over the last 20 months or so.
@ASDeckard Honestly I don’t really get the need to argue which is worse, compared to the need to pointing out the hypocrisy of those who criticize Russia but not Israel; without even getting into your clearly dishonest framing of implying displaced people are dead.

However, I think Bad Empanada might underestimate the power of AIPAC and the lobby, in funding campaigns and "inviting" newly elected representatives to a propaganda tour Israel: why would all that $$ expense be needed, if it was obvious & inevitable to support Israel as US self-interest?
I'm an Egyptian, I consider the Palestinians my brothers and sisters as well, most of us here in Egypt do, but unfortunately we're under an extremely tyrannical government so you won't be able to know that by looking at what our "president" is doing, i wish westerners were aware of how much the people of the Arab world love and share solidarity with the Palestinians and how much they even want their armies to literally participate directly and militarily to stop the massacre in Palestine and defend the Palestinians, nevertheless we are unable to express solidarity in any politically meaningful ways. and that's because of our repressive tyrannical governments supported by the USA with the specific intent to secure Israel, it's main geopolitical ally in the region. If you're westerner reading this, it's time for you to carry the torch of Palestinian liberation from Zionist tyranny, you have the freedom to protest that we don't have. What I love about this video is its willingness to connect Zionism with the other colonial European ethno-nationalists ideologies at the time. People try to detach Zionism from its regional and historical context. By "regional" and "historical" I'm referring to Europe and the 19th Century. Zionism is like all of the other European racial ideologies except their ideology demanded a nation-state outside Europe. That is the ONLY difference. Keep in mind that when Theodore Herzl formulated Zionism in the late 1800s, it was still normal for Europeans to view entire races/ethnic groups as subhuman, erase them, and colonise them. The only thing that actually ended European colonialism was the fact that WW1 and WW2 caused the Europeans to divert their attention to fighting each other and it weakened Europe over all. It's not because people became enlightened. The Zionists on the other hand were able to migrate to another continent that wasn't ravaged by WW1/WW2 and continue the colonial legacy. I believe that Muslims and Jews can live in one state, which used to be the case for 1,000 years. But we cannot live with Zionism since Zionism is race based and not faith based. Case in point, Theodore Herzl himself was atheist so his motivation was racial and not Judaism itself. Nor is Zionism based on morality since a typical Zionists doesn't care how many people die for the goal of Zionism because their sole identity is the "race". Case in point, Zionists never discuss the 10,000 people who have died in Gaza in a single month. Their talking points always refer back to Jewish race and ethnicity but they never refer back to concepts like freedom, justice, liberation etc which are higher level concepts than race and ethnicity. Everything is about the "race", so Zionists around the world (not just in Israel) will unite knowing their actions and support of each other are harmful because their movement isn't based on morality or how good a person actually is it. It is solely rooted in race, blood, and lineage just like the other 19th century European ethnocentric ideologies.
Also note, whilst Israel have weapons to South Africa, they were also kind enough to take South African nukes off their hands when their country fell. That was nice of them!

Brilliant! I hope you do another one on France and why they would even go so far as crack down on criticisms of the Israeli government with new draconian laws. How do you think this helps them especially in the context of their interests in Africa?
I guess the main reasons were already addressed in the video. I'm French myself and I don't think there is much of a difference in terms of interests here, between France and other western countries. That being said, we're getting closer and closer to be a full-blown authoritarian state each year passing, so crackdowns on various issues (like having a chance of retiring before you're dead or unable to enjoy life even a little, for example) are becoming increasingly severe compared to many other Western countries. The only potential "benefit" I can immediately think of in the context of Africa would be the reinforcement of the "war against terror" narrative. This narrative is frequently emphasized in French media as a primary justification for French military operations in regions like the Sahel, where controlling the region equates to maintaining access to the uranium supply for French nuclear power plants.
So glad you made this video as I've been getting a bit fed up of having to explain all this to folk in the last few weeks. You as a Palestinian did you celebrate October 7th like the rest of Gaza people did ? Did you support the actions?
@@franklittle8124 thanks for your support! Why those countries of all places?

But the reverse is also true.
Israel is build on the narrative that the Jews are the indigenous population of the region.
If you follow the same logic (without questioning how valid it is for the state of Israel), you should conclude that the indigenous populations of the US, Canada, Australia, etc, have a right to the land, and can in fact subject everyone else to an apartheid state.
{edit: please do your best to understand what i'm saying before repliying, and read the thread:
I'm saying that taking the Zionist justification as valid and defending it is hypocritical for a colonial state. That does not imply in any way that _I_ personaly take it at face value}

It's embarrassingly, almost cartoonishly, cognitively dissonant that Joe Biden, who opposed apartheid in South Africa, supports apartheid in Palestine. Israel must leave now.

🎯
The guilt you speak of was induced by mid-20th century propaganda, when television was new enough that the then-young baby boomer generation got completely hypnotized by it and uncritically believed everything the TV told them. Critical thinking has been making a comeback ever since the internet enabled dissenting voices to join the conversation, which is why we see a permanent decline of this induced guilt in the younger generations.

1948- After the British Mandate was revoked in Palaestine and Transjordan the Jews were given lawful rights to have a Nation and so were the Arabs. They did'nt want to live together in the same country. Hence the Partition Resolution.
But the Arabs wanted a complete Islamic Land and rejected the UN Partition resolution. They intended to eliminate the Jews. They also rejected negotiation deals and broke a war against the Jews to disrupt the Formation of Israel. It was 5 against 1
This was highly condemned internationally back then. Eventually Help was sent forJews and they got into war too. Without external Help they would have probably been wiped of in 1948 itself. At a Senate hearing, Senator Van Hollen tells Pentagon chief Austin:
“The siege is accompanied by brutal bombing. According to the UN, six times as many children have been killed in the Gaza Strip in three weeks as have been killed in Ukraine during the entire war.”
But I will guess by the name that you are Ukrainian in account of all those i’s in your name.. Your country will be Bosnia 2.0, a devastated country, almost depopulated and completely ruined, all cause you decided to listen to the west, just like they told the Bosnians, “listen to us, you’ll be eating out of golden spoons..”

@@ASDeckard *Less than 1/5th of Mariupol's population survived*
Where does that figure even comes from? Cause you are claiming that a city that had a population of 425k or so people, had 340k or so people killed?
Those who forget history, are destined to repeat it.

25:44 I love your message here, dawg. I support Palestine because i'm human. That's all.
That's depressing. Thanks though
Love to listen to your honest and fortright videos. Keep it up.
Excellent video. My mother is an evangelical Christian and as such is blindly pro-Israel. I’d love to show her this video but I know it won’t change her mind sadly.

As always, wonderful work
Let’s go! Finally empanada is going to get paid. Also, thanks for the critical content!

I love you direct people to actions not a lot lefties know how to direct audiences to movement
I have been asking exactly this question to all and sundry over the past few weeks. Thanks so much for this excellent explanation.
Thanks, BadEmpanada! Now I understand why we invite Israel to participate in Eurovision.
Yes when you know how Israel began it all makes sense, its also why Israeli football team plays in the EUROs and Israeli clubs play in UEFA competitions despite all Russian football being banned in Europe
This channel and your analysis is a jewel.
Thank you so much. This was both informative and inspiring/motivating to do all we can to make things right.
It makes me sick in the stomach and I feel like fainting every time i find out how much we have been lied to, used. I hear the word Biden, I think of all the days i was knocking on doors and helping people register to vote, ...so many people i had faith in and now I hate myself.
In America don't matter who you vote, everything already set out for you, just the matter choosing which from which. For those don't follow the menu can have a recipe of JFK. You think you got a choice you really don't. The whole system need reform but I don't see how this can happen when many people in charge are so corrupted, same applies to the citizens. The failure and weakness of capitalism.
Thank you for making this video. Watching from Algeria.
The support is disgusting it makes me sick to think my country Australia will just blindly follow the Yanks if they get involved with armed troops.
@@nattycooper6622 If you support Israel that's what you support:
Death for LGBT (Homophobic lynchings and anti-LGBT rhetoric supported by Netenhayu's allies in parliament), Oppression of Women (Netanyahu's undemocratic judicial reforms have greatly restricted women's rights resulting in large scale women-led protests which were forcefully shut down) , No Democracy (Despite Israel claiming control over Jerusalem and large portions of the West Bank, those living there are not allowed to vote), No Elections (Israeli elections are a literal joke because of their corruption), No Freedom of Speach (Netanyahu's government has deployed the military against protests), No Education (Palestinians living within Israeli controlled territories are not allowed to receive standard Israeli education), No Equality (Israel is an aparthied state) - Just Zionism
You forget that Australia is a country bulit of genocide of the Aboriginal people. Not only that Australia was super racist until anout the 90’s where they finally demolished the white Australia policy. And they didn’t do out of good will they did it because they needed a bigger population.
You may be flippant when it comes to the livestream clips, but these videos are so spot on and clear

It's basically colonizers support another colonizer.Americans, British, Canadians, Australians and Europeans. And then they expect people to respect them? No.Why would you? They are exactly the people others need to stay away from and be cautious of.
it is funny cause some people support both ukrane and isreal at the same time which makes no sense to me.😅
Thank you
I’m totally opposed to your political outlook, but hot damn you tell the truth and back it up with facts.
One of the best videos ive seen. It has really explained the situation ao very well. Brilliant!!
Excellent analysis of the situation. Thank you for your coverage and unwavering support for the people of Palestine.
Some of the best media information and points made on the conflict I've seen.
Great video. Could also add there’s the benefit for the Western Right of keeping Israel as a Jewish Bantustan to send its own diaspora populations to. There’s a reason why Israel politically and materially supports right wing parties and paramilitaries (Azov Battalion).
May Allah (swt) bless you for uploading this very informative video that is telling the truth so clearly. It’s so frustrating that humanity means nothing when those leaders wabt to get more power and you are on there way.
Great video!
side note, i aprecciate Ground news for sponsering videos like this one
Holy shit there are still sane logical people in the world.
Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Very informative indeed.

As you say, they're well-meaning its just that they're not as informed as us and they've come across these widespread theories about "the Israeli tail wagging the American dog". It's hard work trying to shift them away from that and onto the materialist explanation. Linking them this video will now provide me with a shortcut. Great work!
One of the best descriptions of the situation in the ME that I’ve heard. I even let some of the numerous ads play through!
Bro I salute you for this , straight up facts
