    Noel I have been a fan of your airline videos for quite a while. I just heard your "Behind the Prop" podcast with Bobby Doss and Wally Mulhearn. It is such a small world, as I am the Chief Flight Instructor at United Flight Systems. I am so amazed at your training videos with us. I hope to meet you in the hallways of the school, I will be looking for you. Thank you for bringing the joy of aviation to the world.

    Gotta get that tail wheel endorsement and go fly a cub!

      In Canada we don’t need a tail wheel endorsement. I had two circuits of tailwheel “instruction” and was let loose- that was more than 30 years ago. So far so good!

    Hooks UFS alumni and current renter here! Pilot controlled lights and PAPIs at 60R is on 123.3! Gotta go to the AFD to find that info 👍 Fly safe and blue skies!

    25 square, engine management, stalls, etc. Nice work. That's why we need high performance endorsements.

    A bit late to this video as I had a "blackout" period on TH-cam so I'm trying to catch up. Great to see you moving into the HP birds. If you've got time in a 172, the whole reason behind the HP endorsement becomes *very* clear when you transition to the 182 and try shoving the throttle forward instead of easing it up. The amount of work your right leg does is *much* different than the 172. I'm told the SR20 -> SR22 transition is similar in that way as well. Other than the slightly higher speeds for the HP aircraft, it's really that Torque & P-Factor that gets your attention with higher HP aircraft. Now we just need to get you hooked up with one of the Commemorative Air Force units in the Houston area and put you in a T-6 to feel what 600 HP feels like.

    Great video Noel. I felt like I was up there with you guys. The camera placements were perfect. Best regards from Oz.

    I’m training for my PPL right now in New Jersey, and just like you’re steep turns, I also keep losing altitude. I thought they’d be the easiest manoeuvre, but no. Happy flying!

      PPC. Certificates are evidence of possesing one or more spercified qualities, licenses are permission and fee collection.

    I know I've been listening when i recognize the voice of the air traffic controller. OMG! You are now a partly official Texan if you are driving a pick up truck! You only need boots & a cowboy hat! I am so impressed that you are a pilot yourself!

    An engine letting go driving down Hwy. 290, not a big deal, you pull over to the shoulder. An engine letting go at 5000 feet - “just pulling over” into the nearest Buc-ee's is not an option! Glad whoever was flying the Cirrus was able to land safely. Another good vid. 🙂
    What 360 camera are you using on the wing?

    The Cessna 182 and it's tinwing cousins are safer, slower, cheaper, and friendlier than the Cirrus. They are also better for passengers.

    still can't believe you are right down the road from me at Hooks Airport. I drive by there daily. Do you ever see any water planes there? They have that water runway

    • @FlyWithNoelPhilips
      @FlyWithNoelPhilips  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! They have some ultralights on floats they use for training. They look very cool, but that water runway seems far too tight for my liking!

    That’s interesting, a separate endorsement… In Europe, could have flown that without a glitch! (Not everything aviation is better in the US 😉)

      @eMMjunaYschion ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't get the endorsement thing either. You have to get a difference training on the aircraft either way and while you're doing it, you learn how the 230hp behave. Simple as that.

    • @FlyWithNoelPhilips
      @FlyWithNoelPhilips  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep absolutely. A lot is better but there are a lot more endorsements required for various things.

    Just curious, do they require instrument rating/ being an IR student to rent the 182?

    • @FlyWithNoelPhilips
      @FlyWithNoelPhilips  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, but you need a high performance rating. Im actually working on my IR at the moment.

      If you can run a tractor with a backhoe and a loader with a third function, then you can fly and operate an airplane like this one

      In a tractor doing multiple things I’m still only going 20mph with my wheels already on the ground lol

    Some pilots just can not feel the plane just like most drivers can not feel the car, For me, it is all about the big pitcher and feel. Along with number but mostly feel. this guy is norviouse all the time, I don't know what I am trying to say, no I do know I just don't know how to say it.

    • @charisma-hornum-fries

      The worst part is that "the feel" of both are harder to get at the more modern they get. Especially electric cars. It's like something is missing.

  • @mytech6779
    @mytech6779 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I can't deal with the wierd radio enunciation from both of you, it's like a plastic surgen implanted fishlips and wired your jaws shut. There are other pilots and ATC on the receiving end that need to readilly understand your calls.
