This sneaker comes with a thicker cut of leather than what usually comes on 1s or on most sneakers. Thats why you have to actually break them in. Shattered backboards setting the standard for quality shows how gullible some people are. There's soft tumbled leather on almost every pair of 1s now and somehow people believe nike is giving away the better leather at a cheaper price and more frequently on top of that. I love foamers videos but he got this wrong. Compare a cheap baseball glove to an expensive one. The expensive one usually has to be wrapped with a ball inside, oiled, and some people even bake them. The cheap one feels like it's been used already.
Props to Foamie and Buckets for their content, but I have to agree they missed the mark on this shoe and review. They didn’t seem into it at all.
Two years later and I still ain’t forgot about these…finally got a trade done for a pair yesterday so it’s finally on the way to me ✊

So glad I copped! Paid resell for em that was high but also semi-low but since its an OG colorway thats never been retroed these were a must for me. Everyone saying they are wack are so weird aside from how you feel about the shoe these are an OG's OG and how can you hate on a solid white & gray hightop with a nice sleek design? These are 100% amazing and the prices will only rise if you want em now, you should probably cop. I don't see these getting a super significant drop in resell. Its true though if they had released back in 2016 like the navy metallics or 2017 like the red metallics they'd still be pretty available and you might could scoop em from the outlets eventually. The sneaker game is just outta hand rn Last Dance, Quarantine, Pandemic, online only releases got people fomo and stress buying. Retail therapy forreal.

These hi 85s use a higher quality leather compared to regular Jordan 1 hi....just because a leather is stiffer doesnt make it lower quality, that is the case with these...a stiffer leather? yes. A higher quality leather in comparison to most if not all AJ 1 hi models, similar in comparison with the stiffness on the Dior Jordan 1s. This is a *full or top leather* and in comparison to Shattered Backboards, that leather is top or split, a level down from these 85s...
