That looks alot like the terrain where we take ours in Western NC. We love our Redcat trucks! Thank you for sharing
That was such a small part of the quarry, sooooo many spots for crawling out here. That weekend my brother and I spent almost 4 hours and only stopped because some screws fell out of the c-hubs and the portals almost fell off.
Subscribed. They're on backorder, so I'm waiting for the silver that I ordered. Happy rc'ing!
They have been popular for sure! My brother took his with him to Moab this week so of course I had to pick up one of the last 3 the local hobby shop had and started working on making it a buggy.
@hikingphotog Sounds like fun. I'm thinking of adding a few hop upside like weight up-front, and that Furitek $99 set up. Hopefully, it'll still be available by the time I get my redcat.
You had me at "impulse buy" 😀
I wasn't planning on buying them, but the darn algorithm suggested a few videos and then I saw those boxes sitting on the shelf right next to the first set of parts I was looking at... that price point though, if it had been much more, probably wouldn't have scooped up a couple of them, yet.
World’s best brother!!!
I do my best... some days are better than others.
I made the same purchase yesterday. Great truck
They are great little rigs. Took a couple of them out today and even stock with just tires, inserts, and beadlocks makes a huge difference. Even without all the brass.
😂😂😂 Yep, i wish i could have recorded my reaction! Trucks look great and excellent comparison on the capabilities!
New favorite toy huh... I don't think we've ever killed almost 4 hours at the quarry so quickly.
@@hikingphotog Very yes. New favorite for sure!
Nice comparison.
Thanks! Tomorrows waiting for eclipse activities will be messing around with the stock tires on the soft inserts and brass tires. There will be more videos to come for sure. After I upgraded the other truck we've never spent so much time at the quarry just with a single RC before and those 4 hours really flew by.
Excellent review! I have a stock one right now. Thinking of just starting with the over drive/under drive gears with some of the weight bias mods first. I think the price of brass upgrades will come down once the aftermarket starts making parts. Fun rigs!
Thanks! I figured it would be a good way to showcase what it could do both stock and with some upgrades. I am always weary of the OD/UD cause the stress it puts on the drive train if you aren't climbing. From my experience so far, just good weighted wheels (I'd say at least 30g or more to really help), inserts, tires, and moving the internals lower/forward make a huge difference for the low cost compared to the cost of all the extra brass parts. I've got the stock tires on some decent wheels with the Injora yellow inserts and it seems to be doing pretty well on one of the trucks (between my brother and I we've got 4 of these now), each whole wheel is about 60g, whereas stock wheels are just 17g.
But I am with you on the cost of the upgrade parts, once a few others start making them hopefully they'll start getting cheaper. And I'd like to see some brass full axle housings as well.
Why is Redcat not making an 1/10 LCG 6X6?
As much as they shocked the market with the Ascent and Ascent 18's, I wouldn't be surprised if that was in the works.
