What’s the difference between shifting pressure and shifting weight? 👇 . Weight shift is the movement of your body mass from one foot to the other (changing your center of gravity), whereas pressure shift is the distribution of force between your feet during the swing. I bought my Downshft board last year and it was a game changer in learning how to shift in my swing. I use it every week even if just for a few minutes just to give myself the proper feeling before I start to practice. Great video 👍
Hi, I appreciate your lessons! Quick question: when I shift pressure down into my lead leg, should it be a purely lateral move, or should I also pressure forward, like into the ball of my lead foot? Thanks.
Getting to my right side is my main focus right now. It has always plagued me because my right leg is noticeably (about 2inches) shorter. It’s amazing when I’m doing a little speed training, when I really get on to my left side I’ll see a 4mph jump instantly in club head speed.
I think the words weight and mass should be used to describe this aspect of the swing, not weight and pressure. Weight and mass are technically more accurate, and less confusing ... in my opinion.
@kerrodgraygolf I see your point but this needs to be emphasized. Better to emphasize that the pressure or loading stays within the inside of the back foot l.....for irons at least.

Good stuff! Was the improvement instant, or did it take you some time to implement it? Thanks for your comment 🙌

When you shift pressure into your lead leg the pressure will be both lateral and forward 👍

Great to hear mate! Keep it up 👍

Right pocket back is one of the worst pieces of advice in golf. It causes golfers to get stuck on their back foot.
Just a way to exaggerate the feel.
