excellent video and explanation -- turning the right hip back and behind as the impetus for the shift back to the lead side -- that's gold, right there
Struggling a bit to tie this up with other advice to keep weight forward and not to shift back- ie Saguto, Franks ,Cogorno ...lol. Seriously, enjoying the videos. Helpful for a beginner like me.
Same with me. I was watching saguto and doing the weight forward. I seemed to be hitting it decent but it just felt weird to me. I like the weight shift style and it felt more natural but I just can't seem to get it right consistently. The weight shift style seems to have alot more timing involved.
Lift the left foot as you take away. When you reach the top of the back swing you immediately press the left foot down , which transfers the weight over onto the left foot? That’s what I find works , am I correct?
Hey! Yes Reverse C is good----hips forward, head back with rotation.....all the greats have done it :) Success leaves clues.... Key is reverse C with weight on lead foot not back
Watch when he swings in slow motion around 1:30. His left knee goes towards the right and then sways back to the left at the start of the shift. Yesterday for the first time I consciously noticed that and I believe that feeling is going to be key for me. I could feel the knee going the opposite direction when my arms were nearing the top. It felt like a little dance move. Try it with no ball just swinging your arms back and forth like a warm up.
Lol I hear ya Richard. Yeah love the guys from AMG---always excellent videos from them! We have used GEARS and we'll say maybe more of that in the future:)
:) See what works best for you! Remember......we are saying shift the pressure in the feet to the right.........but not very much mass of the body. So in reality its not much different but I hear ya
Saguto golf, if u see his swing, it's very short hence his style is keeping weight on right foot and then swing down from the top of the back swing . His style works becos of "short swing". If u do full swing like the pros. Most has to shift the weight and the arms drop then only whip it the club through. If they whip it straight from the top without weight shift then good luck. Thats what all amateurs do. There are more than 1 way to swing a golf club.
Great vid! I struggle with this a bit too. My question is what do you do with the trail (right for a righty)knee? I realized that I was trying to ‘push’ off my trail foot & bank it, which would kind of cause me to early extend a bit & stall rotation.
Hey Gerald....check these out on details of right leg and foot should help! th-cam.com/video/KxvJmqqBwTY/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUhRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIHJpZ2h0IGxlZyByaWdodCBmb290 th-cam.com/video/0vJn7x-wvp4/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUhRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIHJpZ2h0IGxlZyByaWdodCBmb290
There are about three or four videos with you and JT that have helped fit the pieces together. Great work, and you two make a super team.
Appreciate it!!

6:02 As soon as we start turning trail hip we pressure back to lead side. 😮

Lift the left foot after p2, not setup, this will cause you to recenter before top of backswing.
Hey! Yes that generally correct..as mentioned from John I would just say the lead heel up would come a bit later in backswing
Any comments on reverse C?

It's very hard and un natural for me to have my arms going back and my hips moving in a different direction anytime?
For sure its a learned skill that takes some time to learn!

Kudos to you for crediting AMG. Have you considered purchasing a GEARS system? Easy for me to suggest how you should spend your money, LOL.
