That was extremely satisfying to watch! I LOVE repotting and reorganising eyeshadow palette videos! Yes to seeing you using and reviewing the revamped palettes 💖
What a fun video, very crafty! I like watching people take apart and rearrange their pallettes for more personalised use. Kat's video was great, I'd never seen anyone take apart Too-faced before.
I have been doing this for the last month, it is so much fun, and the result is very satisfying to me. I let go all the eyeshadows that I didn't like, and just kept the surviving ones . And now this video of yours showing the potential to minimize collection into a functional one. What I love about rearranging palettes it that you can pull out any palette and immediately works for you. Great video Maaike!!
Have you tried the cookie cutter method for repressing? Where you lay the smaller pan into the larger pan and press down to transfer the product into the pan. It prevents having to add alcohol to the shadow which can change the formula and which some shadows don't react well to
That would be a great method but I don't have a tool small enough to fit into many of these pans. Plus that way you don't get to use all the shadow that's in it. For the JP shades it could work but for the BB ones you'd end up with far less shadow as when you would break it up and repress it.
One of my favorite types of content! This looked like a lot of work, thanks for sharing! PS the J* shadows look so much better in its new consolidated palette; also my heart hurts a little at your getting rid of the Kaleidos Sci fi green shadows but I understand! Our preferences are different
Oh I really liked the Sci Fi Greens palette. It's just that I akready own the Melt Gemini palette and if I want those grungy greens I'd fo for that rather than this. This way I still get to keep the stunning packaging. And in a way I've kept the shades from the Wilderness that remind me a lot of the Gemini.
@@FloatinginDreams I love that you found a way to keep the packaging that you love. Packaging is so important to me, it is a huge part of the happy aesthetic experience!
I’ve quit depotting eye shadow for the most part. It just makes a big mess - but none of mine have been magnetic. Makes a lot of sense to depot and rearrange into palettes that work for you!! I just threw out around 25 eyeshadows that I depotted awhile back - colors that won’t work for me. I don’t know why I was keeping them.
Oh yeah I feel ya! I spent a whole week depotting a tonne of singles way back in the day as palettes became the norm and I was no longer reaching for them. Even after I put them into palettes I never reached for them ever again. Such a waste of time and effort.
A practical question as I’ve never seen a hair dryer used for deporting before: what heat setting do you have your hair dryer on to melt the glue? I’ve only seen the methods that use either a hair straightener (which I don’t own) or a lighter (no fond of idea of using an open flame). Thank you
@@FloatinginDreams Thanks, that helps to know. I have rearranged magnetic palettes like Colourpop but I may give the hair dryer trick a go and do some others as well.
Oh that actually doesn't work very well. Most of it just turns into brown. Mixing shadow if you don't start with pigments first is incredibly difficult. Not to mention the different levels of shimmers and textures that may or may not mix well in the end.
L❤ved this and the good thing is that you ended up with palettes you will like and use more. And the 6 pan Menagerie one looks like a nice soft Spring palette. If I need to glue back any pans, I use photo (not phone glue) glue as that makes for easier removal without compromising stickability.
@@FloatinginDreams yeah i know, but my huda palettes should be .. but I don’t really know how to get the shades out since they are in that hard plastic shell and so tight to endless that there isn’t really a way to get in with a pin 😭
@@jessisfabulousworld2108 I have never heard of magnetized Huda palettes. Those are all glued in. But you often need quite a strong magnet to pull it out. Not just any magnet will do.
It's in the video when in repress the Beauty Bay shade. If you want a more closeup view I recommend watching the Colourpop reorganization I filmed last year.

Thanks! I think it could be a fun twist on my 10 palette review video!

Me neither and I initally hadn't planned on repotting them. But her method looked so easy that I was like: might as well try it!
Such an enjoyable video! It's amazing how much your J Star rearrangement breathed new life into the shadows. Enjoy your new palettes!
Yeah there is just something about keeping only that what you love.
It was so fun watching you reorganisend repress your palette. You really do like your cool tones 😃
I knoe right?!
Love watching your reorganisation ❤

I still have plenty of palettes after this but yes it's a great to keep things around an rearrange older things and put some new life into them.

Very good video!!! You have a great eye for designing eyeshadow palettes!
Thank you!

It does look stunning with the BB shiners in it though! Hopefully those turns out well

LOVE what you did with the JP purple palette! GORGEOUS!

Wow! Amazing!
I love your philosophie. I subscribe.
Needed this. I watched Kats video awhile ago but it was a mess lol she tried. Thank you! I want to combine chocolate and chocolate gold.
omgggg you actually ripped the whole jeffree star palette out like that😂
i'm crying, they are all so beautiful 😭
Yup I said in the intro I would destroy them and destroy them I did.
@@FloatinginDreams a bit fitting? 😉

I used the highest setting. That works most quickly. The glue just needs to be soft enough for you to lift out the pan.

It would be fun to mix some eyeshadows to get new shades and then repress them.

The Too Faced repotting was a bit of a spur of the moment decision. So I just used the glue I already had.
Does this work with every palette and magnet ? Cause I tried it with one on our fridge and it didn’t worked on my huda palettes
Not all paletres are magnetized. Most are glued into place. You can find ways to get those out as well. I prefer using a hairdryer and a pin.

@@FloatinginDreams the highlighters palettes are magnetic but eyeshadow Idk.
What kind of magnet is that? Where did you get it?
It is part of an Inglot eyeshadow palette.
Can you show how you repress the shadows?

Seeing JS palletes being destroyed like that was super satisfying. I'm not sure I know why
I know right?! It was very satisfying to do as well.
… perhaps because of his character? 😉
