I built my first pit with the octagon shape back around 1977 and used 14 gauge it seems as it was thinner than 1/8 inch plate and each bend was 9 inches. Main mistake was not keeping the ashes cleaned out. I used a center stack and a single ended vent which years later realized the smoke vent pipe should have been on the end not the center.
Have you thought about making a Pellet Grill Conversion kit for people to turn their Regular BBQ Grill into a No-Maintenance Smoker Grill? Those thin metal Pellet Grills cost quite a bit and most folks already have a good heavy-duty grill around already - so why have another grill to find a place for if you can convert your grill you already have which is probably a lot better built.
Hey Allen love your work. I was wondering what kinda height would be good from the floor to the top of the main chamber with the door flipping upwards?
Allen do yall not have crushed concrete company around you? You can also rent a dump trailer from homedepot and haul it yourself get rid of that mud in 1 day.

Yea, there’s plenty of it around, I’m still trying to shake back from paying for the building right now, I’ll get some soon, though.

I think I seen a raccoon run by in your shop 😂
Allen. I tried to send an email to you and it came back. Want a grill built. I will send another without attachments. It will be from Dean Hansen.
How do I contact you in person to discuss a project I have. It's very small and would take about 20 mon. or so.

You are doing a good job, but don't let your dog be in there. Why you are welding. He have eyes too, and they can be damaged. Just like Us
