- DeMar DeRozan has headlined Miami Heat rumors during 2024 NBA Free Agency. DeRozan and Miami have had interest in joining forces, but as of now, the Heat can’t offer a contract to DeMar DeRozan that he would sign. Jake Fischer, Yahoo Sports, reported that a sign-and-trade has been discussed between the Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls that would send DeMar DeRozan to the Heat and NBA Free Agent Caleb Martin to the Chicago Bulls. Heat Report host Nic Rohloff reacts to the latest Heat trade rumors around DeMar DeRozan. Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald also reported today that the Heat have had numerous trade discussions with a team with a lot of NBA cap space, but can’t specify the team. “DeMar DeRozan is arguably the biggest piece still on the board. There’s definitely been some talk of potential double sign and trade of him to Miami and Caleb Martin back to Chicago. “According to three people who have had contact with the Heat, Miami wants to maintain flexibility with that space in case an opportunity to add a high-level player becomes available. There have been Heat trade discussions with teams - including one with substantial cap space - though further details are unclear. One of the sources said Miami also wants to see what good players become available in the trade market in the days and weeks ahead.”

I dunno, right now it feels on-brand that the Heat would jump through these hoops to land an older star of yesteryear that doesn’t even really fit the roster.

Tyler at $30 million isn’t desirable for ANY team right now. He isn’t a game changer. If you’re the Heat you just have to be happy they aren’t asking you to add a pick. No one NEEDS him like that. That’s reality.

Way I feel also. I'd gladly Trade inconsistent Duncan over Herro and Rozier. Herro actually shoots the 3 more consistently than Duncan. Duncan is HORRIBLE on defense. Worst on.the Team defensively.

This guy is so dumb it is painful. Jimmy is on his last contract you have a chance to put Derozan next to him by giving Robinson away and you are saying the heat should not push it. I do not think you guys like the Heat or the subscriptions. The worst we can do with Derozan is beat the Knicks and the Pacers in the first round. If we fail to beat the knicks both jimmy and Derozan expires anyway. If we are going to get Derozan we should have traded jimmy to the Sixers and collect as many picks possible. You guys are after youtube likes not the heat getting better. I’m not touching Jaquez or Jovic without getting a real star. Since the best available is Derozan the Heat would be foolish not find a way to get him. Jimmy is not able to get us far without some serious help. A player that can go get a basket not a jump shooter. Derozan is a basket getter and he will strike fear on the opponent. I’m getting fed up with guys like you talking all this nonsense. I would even jump the apron and pay taxes to get a player like Derozan just to prove to my fan base I’m serious about winning. You guys should be putting pressure on the heat to get this guy because we are loosing jimmy no matter what next season for free. Let’s give ourselves a fkn chance with a Derozan rental.

I couldn’t disagree more. Let’s say next year Luka Dončić becomes available and you want to put a package of young players together for a superstar like that or of that stature. How are you going to do that if you replaced a 24 year-old, promising guard with a 34-year-old guy on his last year? What kind of pick haul are you getting for Tyler?
I know it’s easy to jump on the bandwagon of hating him, but as a business person, why would you just throw money away?
