I'm sad, at championships last night I waited to hear this, but I didn't want to miss infinity so I only heard a different warm up, but the bass line was amazing too! Great line this year.
My understanding is that "Ad Astra" is Latin, translating into "To the stars." So I'd assume that that's where this one got its name from. And "Bad Astra" is probably just a play on that. I'm just assuming that much.
Very astute! "To The Stars" is the Latin translation of "Ad Astra" and "Bad Astra" is a silly play on words. If you listen closely in the first vibraphone phrase it's a quotation (in minor) of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star."
@gottatryhardernow McM didn't play it in 2010 did they? I was waiting at the finals lot for it but never heard it, unless I just missed it :/ I haven't seen any videos of it though
hah I walked in as they were playing this warmup at 1:46 Best Warm-up ever. I love how every year people claim MCM has the best pit ever. and the year after that it just gets better. I like the way this is going =)
Does anyone know where the name of this warm-up originated?? I've really been wanting to know how MCM came up with the names "Ad Astra", and "Bad Astra."
