beautiful home . the views are to die for also if anyone who doesn't know the area , this is protected from the crazy westerly winds and storms . that is why they use Bantry bay for the oil industry .

Not really. The particular area of Glengarriff is well known for its sub-tropical micro-climate due to it being the point where the warm Gulf Stream meets land. The village park is actually a bamboo park, and most of the gardens in the area contain tropical palm trees which grow very well there. It is also famous for Garinish Island which contains many tropical plants as well as its famous Italian garden which contains many plants that will not grow in other parts of Ireland - again due to its sub-tropical micro-climate. I lived in Glengarriff for four years and experienced first hand that it certainly did not rain as much and also avoided the extreme cold weather happening in other parts.
