I tried some China off brand mower, and what a mistake that was.. Got the EGO instead and I have to say, I am impressed. Not sure why some ppl in here are saying it doesn't work well. My mower and a single 10Ah batt can mow 8200 sq ft. I love this thing. I am going to get their string trimmer next.😁

I sell mowers and tools for a living and without having actually mowed with any of these mowers, but having learned many of the details about all of these mowers. I’m almost inclined to go with the Ryobi over the other mowers because it has more available choices of tools that use the battery. If that makes sense!
That is a great point! And it was one of the major contributors to having it on our list. Ryobi is not a bad brand, but we feel it doesn't quite match up with its competitors like DuWalt, Makita and Milwaukie in terms of build quality, and it seems the price point reflects that with their tools, generally. However, Ryobi's garden tools seem to be surprisingly really good. None the less, thank you for contributing your point of view and experience with us.

The only question I have about the toro is how fast can it go? I’ve heard that even on max speed it’s really slow. I would choose the toro if it had speed but if it’s slow I would chose ego.
They don't list their speeds, but from our testing, the Toro felt fine. The EGO was a touch faster, but we believe they limited the speed to help promote the stripe pattern. But it wasn't even a concern to us as no one pointed that out. Some people have their own expectations, you can even see the person pushing the Toro moving at walking speed. If your really serious about buying it, I personally would recommend it. Its a top notch mower! But overall, the Ego is the better mower. The quality on both are great. Actually, Milwaukee does not offer an option of lower Ah batteries. EGO offers 2 x 4 Ah, which is fine for the average lawn. Its price is only $699 today > amzn.to/47MqIDZ - Milwaukee has yet to provide an offer at this price. Also, torque can be negated by air volume above the blade, but we used actual hands on testing to validate out opinion. That is why we didn't get overly specific on torque as its not a marker for success. I hope this gives you more insight into our decision. Thanks again :D
Hello Sir! Thank you for the comment. The Milwaukee M18 Lawn Mower is a good unit, but for its price, its just not worth it. After using the Ego, with all its features and using it for an afternoon, you realize quickly that its the better value. Milwaukee really needs to bring down their price on this unit, otherwise it becomes difficult to recommend. I bought a EGO and wasn't impressed. The bulky design makes it harder to cut around stuff. Also the lowest mow setting is 1.5 inch but really seems like a 2in. If you have warm weather grass that needs to be cut short this won't do the job.
I will stick with Stihl mowers. Quality ease of use and the batteries work with all my other Stihl products. Run time and charging of their batteries are great and a five year warranty to boot.👍🇨🇦👨🦳

That is an excellent observation. However, the protruding prongs are on the top side of the mower, preventing anything from getting stuck in the mower itself. You can literally blow out any debris that happens to wedge it way in. But we agree, we would feel better if the battery compartment have an enclosure. I have a new Toro battery mower, it sucks, drive wheel falls off in 2nd hour, battery shorts, and on-line Toro will not take it back. They do not take items back if you use it for 1 minute! Their rear left geared wheel unbolts itself from the bracket, it self destructs! Two others have the same problem. Their repair dealer literally told me "with Toro, its Buyer Beware". I have a Toro case number, a BBB case number, and a US Consumer Product Safety Commission case number. Save yourself and learn from my mistake, and stay away from Toro.

WARNING: Battery operated tools are for California compliance only, nothing else. In California, most properties with lawns are under HOA's or sprawling condominium/apartment complexes that are professional managed. They have contractors that mow lawns daily for a living. They mow year round since California has a miild winter. Battery operated tools need regular use to get your money's worth out of them. A regular homeowner in middle America that uses their tools occasionally will be very disappointed at the lifespan and performance of the tool. Any store in anywhere else in America is just stealing your money by selling them to you.
Hello there. We appreciate your comment, thank you. However, we do not agree with the opinion that battery operated tools are for California compliance, only. While they may serve towards their specificity of intent, electric tools, even when used seasonally, have already shown to offer cost and time savings over their ICE counterpart. Lithium Ion batteries do not sulphate like lead acid batteries, so they do not diminish at the same rate. Nor do they self discharge at the same rate. Also, the lifespan of electric tools vs ICE is always higher. Yes, ICE prices are always cheaper up front.. But when you include fuel, oil changes and maintenance, Electric will always win in the end. Its just our opinion regarding electric gardening tools.
@@techietechnews It's not opinion, California mandated electric by law. Californians have no Choice on what they buy. That's a fact, not opinion. Battery operated tools cannot compete in the market any other way. They are sold at gun point cause they don't sell any other way.

Assembly Bill 1346 passed long after everyone was already using electric tools, hence the decision to do so. Again, the statement of these tools only being for California's compliance to this bill we believe is incorrect. Being lawfully ordered to buy a particular type of tool is not the same as being told what to do at gun point. Please do not take what we are saying as disrespect. We appreciate your perspective. The law was passed for the reason that consumers refused to make an ignorant choice of buying an inferior product without being at gun point of the law.
My experience with ego is TERRIBLE. The customer service is TERRIBLE. They barely speak english and know absolutely nothing about the mowers. The repair time is FOREVER (over 2 months) and it still won't be fixed. I would bet that all these battery powered mowers are all the same.

Perhaps I will call them myself and ask them some questions regarding warranty and their process. I would never even consider a cordless mower except.... now all the gas mowers are made like garbage. My previous Toro gas mower lasted over 20 years. The new one... junk!

@@barneyfyfe8313 With an acreage of property, I would too. I would not recommend electric for properties of that size when a ride on would be more appropriate. We plan on doing a zero-turn rider mower review quite soon. I would love to hear your feedback on it once it we launch it. It will be a month though, still need to gather the equipment. They work just fine. You just need to pick the right battery size for your lawn. And if your lawn is bigger than one or two batteries, just buy more batteries. The point is that they are perfectly viable. Thanks for your input.
Listen, the selection is interesting, but you must understand that US has not more than 20% of English speaking population and many of your viewers are from elsewhere. These models, on the other hand, are US market specific and don't include stuff that is not available in the US. Then why can't you just bloody say that in the intro or in the title? I'm not even asking you mention the metric equivalents, which are used by 95% pf the world, that just seems a mission impossible for American reviewers. Why, say, Australian reviewers mention ten times they're talking about the Australian market and even give all the inches and pounds pretty much exclusively for American audience, but Americans never do that?

I have the EGO and it does a great job on dry grass, but bogs down on damp, not wet grass. I usually get 2 full mows from a charge.
I went with the ECHO and I am very happy with it, I already have echo products so I have a extra battery

If you want an electric mower that can actually replace the power of gas. You need an 80v system. I have the 80v greenworks and it's awesome.

The Milwaukee m18 is $1100. The 22 inch ego is $1200. It looks like ego tried to one up Milwaukee by 1 foot pound of torque higher
