If the Timemaster didn't get the top spot I'd be very disappointed. Hands down the best residential mower you can get that also finds use even in the commercial space.
If it has a Briggs And Stratton engine, I won't buy it ! Briggs has gone completely down hill since moving their production overseas ! They now have way too many plastic parts on and in their engines ! Like Nylon lobes on the camshafts that end up spinning on the shaft itself ! Rendering the engine useless ! They have these Nylon parts in their engines all the way up to the 22 HP models ! When they break down, and they will, they cost so much to repair unless it's under warranty, that it's just not worth it ! Even the few Lawn Mower Shops that used to fix them, don't want to mess with them under warranty anymore. Because the manufacturer low balls them to the point it just makes the engines "Disposable" ! And if you do get it fixed, by the time you ever get your mower back, your grass is six feet tall and the mower won't cut it anyway ! Briggs engines have turned into just plain "Junk" ! I won't have one ! I am now using electric ! A GreenWorks 80 volt ! It cuts the toughest grass like butter ! I still have a gas mower, but it has a Honda engine on it !
