I worked at Chipotle. It's not a secret. The only thing you pay extra for is double meat, guac, and queso. All extra toppings are free. Also, I can guarantee that the employees don't care what you order 😂
Tortillas aren’t free, trust me, I’m a chipotle cashier. It’s a $0.25 per tortilla. Also, you can ask for double portions of beans, vegetables, and rice for free. Just ask, we don’t mind. Asking immediately helps as well because it makes the job easier for us and we’re more motivated to give you extra portions. 🥰
I also work at chipotle and our store makes 10k a day and it’s so annoying when people ask for more rice, beans and ESPECIALLY fajitas because it makes prep and grill work way harder than they have to. May be different for slower stores but just a different perspective from someone who works the “BOH” and “FOH” positions at an overly busy store 😔

You're also invested in the company that you believe in and show up to every day. It would hurt your own pockets and provide a poor taste for the customer base that pays your paycheck if you became selfish and stopped caring while simultaneously hurting the business by causing "shrink" in inventory which will over time force prices to be raised in the future. There are consequences to poor behavior and only upside for hard worth ethic and having high moral standards. Achieve great things and life will become far more rewarding

A regular bowl I can get 2-3 meals. I get Xtra everything except meat in a bowl. Take it home, saute a f-ton of onions because they make everything better then dump in my bowl and extra corn, salsa, n whatever else then put it in some delish wraps ( which I later noticed are supposed to be super healthy 🤷🏼♀️). I get like 6 or 7 grab n go burritos.

Former chipotle employee here. The employees aren’t mad that you’re getting extra food. They’re annoyed that you’re overfilling the bowl/burrito. The location I worked at was super anal about keeping the line clean and when people did this shit the bowl would just overflow all over making it harder to fill & annoying to clean. Yeah it’s part of the job but you could also just be a normal person. Chipotle is well priced to begin with.

As someone who worked there, I can tell you nobody there is pissed about portions you’re asking for. They did however watch us on cameras and will call the store saying things like “your portions aren’t correct” or “the beans look low please refill them”. So just like an I.D. at a gas station, you need to verbally ask me for more on camera to ensure I don’t lose my job in the name of your burrito bowl. We actually like to help out our fitness junkies, celiacs peeps, and food scientists. It’s a great place that everyone can go to pretty much with healthy or gluttonous options. Had lots of fun with the quesaritos and triple-7x wrapped burritos that people made huge and crazy. They’re a very customer service orientated place and it’s fast pace. Instead of being slow af, tell us exactly what you want and if it’s not enough, ask for more. I promise they do not care about keeping all the chipotle for themselves. Y’all need to chill and stop frustrating employees who work fast paced. It’s actually rude and we can tell. You just look stupid tbh.

The best hack I learned was getting the bowl instead of the burrito and just getting 2 25 cent tortillas on the side. They put more food/protien in the bowl it seems. Plus when u order double rice and double beans, I feel like they feel more inclined to put a little more protien cause of how small the normal amount of protein looks in the big bowl compared to the burrito
I work at a chipotle we put two scoops of rice in a bowl and double we put three, every thing else is just one scoop unless you ask for double, we do one scoop of everything for a burrito because it’s hard to roll up otherwise
Former Employee: this isn't hacking the system, you're asking for double rice, double beans, and double chicken. Usually the worker unintentionally levels this out with portion sizes getting slightly smaller to fit in the bowl. If you ask for 2 or more sides in the little portion cups, they may also charge you $1 per side cup. Also as someone else has said on here, I believe double chicken is $5

i currently work there and this video is painful, tell them what you want and that you want more. tortillas are charged, double chicken is not 2$, and you’re almost guaranteed to get a smaller scoop the second time if you don’t start off telling me double chicken. i’m not having customers coming in and acting like this because of some tiktok

Extra chicken is 3.90 each tortilla is 30cent do this and we short you on every sauce, and charge 1.15 if you want more.(In my store) also if were sort on rice or beans your not getting extra (for free). Some mangers go as far as making sure the waight is correct form the Chipotle handbook. Now your bowl is like 14-15 dollars

It would hurt your own pockets and provide a poor taste for the customer base that pays your paycheck if you became selfish and stopped caring while simultaneously hurting the business by causing "shrink" in inventory which will over time force prices to be raised in the future. There are consequences to poor behavior and only upside for hard worth ethic and having high moral standards. Achieve great things and life will become far more rewarding

Take it home, saute a f-ton of onions because they make everything better then dump in my bowl and extra corn, salsa, n whatever else then put it in some delish wraps ( which I later noticed are supposed to be super healthy 🤷🏼♀️). I get like 6 or 7 grab n go burritos.

Former chipotle employee here. The employees aren’t mad that you’re getting extra food. They’re annoyed that you’re overfilling the bowl/burrito. The location I worked at was super anal about keeping the line clean and when people did this shit the bowl would just overflow all over making it harder to fill & annoying to clean. Yeah it’s part of the job but you could also just be a normal person. Chipotle is well priced to begin with.

As someone who worked there, I can tell you nobody there is pissed about portions you’re asking for. They did however watch us on cameras and will call the store saying things like “your portions aren’t correct” or “the beans look low please refill them”. So just like an I.D. at a gas station, you need to verbally ask me for more on camera to ensure I don’t lose my job in the name of your burrito bowl. We actually like to help out our fitness junkies, celiacs peeps, and food scientists. It’s a great place that everyone can go to pretty much with healthy or gluttonous options. Had lots of fun with the quesaritos and triple-7x wrapped burritos that people made huge and crazy. They’re a very customer service orientated place and it’s fast pace. Instead of being slow af, tell us exactly what you want and if it’s not enough, ask for more. I promise they do not care about keeping all the chipotle for themselves. Y’all need to chill and stop frustrating employees who work fast paced. It’s actually rude and we can tell. You just look stupid tbh.

The best hack I learned was getting the bowl instead of the burrito and just getting 2 25 cent tortillas on the side. They put more food/protien in the bowl it seems. Plus when u order double rice and double beans, I feel like they feel more inclined to put a little more protien cause of how small the normal amount of protein looks in the big bowl compared to the burrito
I work at a chipotle we put two scoops of rice in a bowl and double we put three, every thing else is just one scoop unless you ask for double, we do one scoop of everything for a burrito because it’s hard to roll up otherwise

Former Employee: this isn't hacking the system, you're asking for double rice, double beans, and double chicken. Usually the worker unintentionally levels this out with portion sizes getting slightly smaller to fit in the bowl. If you ask for 2 or more sides in the little portion cups, they may also charge you $1 per side cup. Also as someone else has said on here, I believe double chicken is $5
