RE7's save theme is easily my favorite. It sounds desolate and hopeless, but those hopeful chords come in every now and again to remind you to keep fighting, no matter how bleak the situation looks. I imagine the character staring out the window, listening to the sound of the rain and saying to himself, "I'm not gonna die here...".
To me it had tones of sorrowful acceptance of the difficulties at hand. Acknowledging the loss and powering on. "The way out is through," as I like to say.

56:57 One of my favorite themes out of all the RE games. The save room theme for RE7 is one of the most unique themes because it brings a sense of hopelessness and dread with some sparks of hopefulness with each high note that is played on the guitar. It’s as if the music reflects the baker family as a whole. Once a great family that just wanted to help a little girl that have turned into insane monsters that have lost all sanity and compassion. You then get a sense that there is still hope to save them, once you hear those hopeful chords. But as soon as the eerie part starts playing again, you realize that their fate is sealed, permanently.
I love the RE7 theme. I'm probably biased towards it because RE7 is my favourite RE game and favourite game of all time, but the save room theme is amazing. If you haven't, you should listen to Mono Memory's remix of it. That's great.
The way you describe it is exactly how RE3 sounds to me. 7 is great, but no way near as good as the originals or as unique as people make it out to be. But that's my opinion. Good sounding, but not unique.
RE 7 save the franchise when its about to go down At its release I thought it was overhyped But now totally changed my mind I think its of the best horror game of all time Total game changer
RE0 theme is very underrated. It was one of my favorite. Followed by RE3 theme and CVX. The RE0 theme feels like you are safe and sound while RE3 contrast it and sounded like there's no hope left.
RE3 used to be my favourite but now I think Zero is actually my most favourite save room in the series it sounds so soothing and loneliness and feelings of safety. The atmosphere of the 1st save room in the game on the train is a great atmosphere with this save room music playing, and you can hear and see the pouring rain out if the train window.
Agreed. The safe room theme is really nice and the cozy feeling on the train is...well, cozy! Of the 4 Res games I've played I'd also almost put 0 as my favorite. Sitting on a train right now so maybe my opinion is biased :P
I will play all of these games even 30 or 50 years later. Resident Evil has a different place in my heart. I just love every single RE game.. Guys, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Yes there are re games like 6 or survival which obviously not great at all. But I meant I would play all of these games after many years. They will never be old for me. At least for me cuz you may not agree me and I'd respect that.
Same. Heck, RE is the only series where I bothered to beat EVERY mode and difficulty while unlocking every bonus item/infinite ammo. Out of all video game franchises that I've played, it is BY FAR my favorite. Every year, I replay all games (well, the ones I have, which are basically all mainline games and a few spin-offs), and like you, I'll hopefully do so for decades to come.
It's awesome. The closest thing sonically but used in both a VERY different and similar way is the Firelink Shrine in Dark Souls 1. Clearly inspired if you ask me. But it's awesome.
Re7's save place is like a small glimmer of hope for Ethan winters against the horrible monsters he's faced upon, or at least thats what it sounds like to me
1-4 are legendary themes, brings back old memories from simpler times when new games were fresh and exciting for me, no responsibilities, wake up play games till dark, go to sleep, repeat , life was good
I'm proud to say that Resident Evil Village is the first game on Capcom's story that have a brazilian dubbing(Sorry if I write something wrong, I'm not so good at this language).
Resident Evil Revelations 2 music is just beautiful. I can't stop remembering the good times i used to have with this game. Masterpiece of a game seriously. Resident Evil Outbreak music brings me back to my childhood, where i couldn't stop playing it, it's an underrated game and it deserve more attention, i recommend it for all the RE fans.
I just got into Resident Evil, 0 is the first game I played and I still haven’t finished it lol. The first time I entered the cabin with the typewriter, I was surprised. The music was so soothing, I felt completely at ease. I’m definitely going to be using these as lullabies to fall asleep

RE7 save room is haunting. Never understood why many said it put them at ease, it always made me feel more tense and worried that ol' Jack would come through the door and kill me.
@@MrLachapell yeah, but the music just has an underlying tone of dread even if it is to deliberately make you feel safer in comparison to when your out of the room.
@@whispersinvenice feels to me like the safe theme encapsulates the entirety of RE7. You dread having to fight Jack, traveling around knowing that any confrontation is just wasted ammunition and resources, you dread having to open up the estate not knowing what lies around the corner, you dread having to fight the molded, you dread leaving knowing that you are going into unfamiliar territory which is all represented by the humming. And yet scattered about are these safe spots, the “high points” in the game that gives you time to save and reorganise whatever you need to.
RE2 and RE3’s theme will always have a special place in my heart. Very nostalgic. But Re7’s scares me so much and I love it. When the game came out I never understood how people were calmed by it, but now I do. It just made me anxious in general. However, Village’s is just so incredible and I feel like that might take my number two spot right behind Re3.
My first RE was Code Veronica and I remember it being so freakin hard and I always thought it was just me. Turns out there are other people who hard the same issues as I do. Its a game that makes you use ammo and healing items very sparingly. RE7 is my next favorite though. Followed by RE4
To each their own...but if you ask me...it's a game that's constantly killing it's own survival horror vibes with dumb design decisions (Like Jack Baker's constant Daffy Duck laughing or the chainsaw battle...The wife and her constant cackling or the son and his childish antics and how he made a wrestling entrance ramp for the molded...among a few other things that escape me at the moment.
@@Miyakolover I agree with the Chainsaw thing but If you think about it they’re all psychotic and Lucas was even that way before. He trapped one of his bullies in the attic till he died and started rotting. They’re all driven to insanity so Lucas doing that kind of lines up with that. He takes something like the part where you have to put the candle on the cake and turns it from something childlike and fun into a horror show. The wife idrk what to say about her. I think they all represent their own type of horror. Jack is the typical slasher flicks, Margaret is Body horror cause of the bugs and her creepy and disgusting boss fight and then Lucas is meant to be like psychological horror but I can see why you feel that way and its definitely a valid point. Personally there are very few games that truly scare me, I can be unsettled but not scarred. Resident evil can make me feel deeply unsettled but never really scarred. A very very good horror game that actually made me afraid was a game called Cry Of Fear, its free on steam and it is honestly scary as hell. I can only take it in small doses. If you like horror, you’ll love cry of fear
Re5 and re6's soundtracks are so underrated. I really love the desperate escape ending results one, and all of re6's chapter end ones. Also the director's cut safe room theme is so chilling too. And the darkside chronicles results theme alsoo. Gosh i just love them all

I love the RE7 save room theme. It's really quiet, compared to the others. It gives a feeling of hope, dread, fear and hopelessness too. It gives the hope that The Bakers can be saved, but then you realize that the only thing that remains is the dread, fear and the infected Bakers. You start to lose hope again, and continue the journey, knowing that they can't be saved. This theme is just perfect
RE:4 hits my memories the most, that feeling of not isolation, being hunted, or dressing what’s outside…. It’s the feeling of purpose, I have a mission, a life to save, and being home…… This time we’re not a survivor, we’re the Knight on the way to the damsel.
I discovered the series in 1996, I was a child, now my life has changed as an adult, but despite the years, and despite the abandonment of several video games for lack of time, I followed everything of Resident Evil, because it is just the best saga of the video games! Thank you Shinji Mikami for this legacy, thank you Capcom for the future! ^^
I love how in the first game there's still that sound of a glimmer of hope in it's tune. You still know you can escape the mansion someway and survive. But then the whole series jumps to a literal town in disarray, and so the music for RE2 sounds like all hope is lost. There's nothing but dispair awaiting you now. You're stuck in a town full of monsters and it isn't an easy road trip from one door to another this time. I love it.
@@Rations282 Really? That was the best thing? You can save Capcom tons of resources by listening to that here for free though. How about something in-game? Mechanics, design, plot, characters... stuff like that?
I have no idea why, but I freaking love Dead Aim's save room theme. It's so hypnotizing, and ethereal that I could listen to it for hours. Something about it reminds me an obscure sci-fi anime from the late 90's to early 2000's that I would've caught on Adult Swim when I was like 9 or 10. It's the kind of thing I wanna listen to when I'm exploring abandoned buildings or walking outside in a public park alone at like 10PM. Idk. I love it. Also R.I.P. CAVIA.

I see you saved the best for last. RE3 is still one of my favorites. Remake version of the theme wasn't bad, but it lacked the heavier industrial elements of the original version. And RE7's is really nice too. Makes you feel safe in the bayou.
Thanks for uploading this. The music was perfect for giving you that sense of relief and a moment to decompress from the stress before you once again enter the world of survival horror.
Having started the Franchise with RE5, RE6 seemed like a good game. It expanded on 5 and gave a lot of content. So I quite enjoyed RE6. Now as an adult I’ve played the older ones as well as 7 and 8 and I can see why 6 isn’t a fan favourite. IMO though it’s a a great stand alone game. Part of RE Franchise? Maybe not the best but It definitely can stand on its own two feet as a fun enjoyable game
I started RE by playing RE2 remake first thanks to a friend who shared it with me on xbox series s im so glad i started because i finished every story on in NG2 leon and claire included and played RE3 remake after that and during that time 4's remake released and later when i got done with 3 i played 4 as well i also bought 0 and 1 on pc and 7 and me and my friend both bought 5 and 6 and finished everything on 5 and loved it it just wasnt scary enough tho but it was real fun same with 6 so far we doing Leon's chapters atm. Im also done with RE0 and started 1. I love this franchise a lot glad i started it.
Dead Aim (28:27) and RE5 Results (41:18) are the underappreciated ones that I like the most. Said that, Code Veronica (24:09), RE2 (8:06) and the new Village (59:09) are my favourites of all.
RE 1-8: Hey there, I know you're scared. Come and rest here for awhile. Just breathe... 😌😮💨 RE Gaiden: DUDE, YOU'RE ALIVE!! LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED! 🤪🥳🎉
RE:CVX is my favorite. It gave off the greatest feeling of safety and security. REmake 1 and the original and Zero are close seconds. RE5 Lost in Nightmares is pretty good too but it's a redux of RE1, same for Deadly Silence. RE8 is also pretty good. Some of them are just down right unsettling and do the opposite of what they should. RE1 Director's Cut is a good example. But if you know the history of the DC music, you'll know that it was a lie to begin with so can't really expect a whole lot from it.
I agree it's very underrated. Probably my 5th favorite RE game overall (1st: RE4, 2nd: Village, 3rd: 2/REmake2; 4th: REmake; 5th: Zero). It does have some flaws, but people blow them out of proportion. Yes, no item boxes is indeed annoying, but it's not that bad - you'll only have to make any serious backtracking like 2 times or so, it really isn't that big of a deal. It certainly is a flaw, but it's not nearly as bad as some people make it out to be. The bosses (mainly based on animals) are not the best but I still thought they were okay (the bat was a very annoying fight though, not good, so yeah, a flaw). But when you remove that, the game is amazing. The atmosphere is top notch. The graphics are beautiful, it's the same style of gameplay and graphics as REmake and for that alone it is a stellar game. And I really like the puzzles, exploration, and I actually really like Rebecca and Billy. I like how they develop and start trusting each other and we even get some backstory, in a way it's a lot better than what we get in most other games in the series. It's a really awesome game and probably the last classic RE game we'll ever get, the one that ended that style, and I love it.
@@runningdecadeix4780 Well put, I agree! Personally I didn't mind the absence of item boxes that much, but the bat and last boss were rather poorly designed IMO. However, I'd argue that the puzzles in RE0 are the best, hands down. Overall a great game, I've only played the first 4 remakes but out of them, for me 0 has to take the cake!
RE 0s theme is so amazing, directors cut was the first RE game for me OMG that music makes me want to bawl my eyes out i was so little when i played that game with my mom i had to of been 8 or younger :'(

This video actually makes me emotional I’m about to cry. I miss my dad. He introduced me to resident evil back in the very beginning and he’s been gone ten years.
Then the RE franchise must have a big emotional value to you...he wanted you to feel the same adventure as he felt back at his days. God bless you and your family forever, dude. May we pass on our most beloved adventures to our loved ones someday, just like your father.

In 1996 I rented Resident Evil and I still remember seeing the artwork on the display. That night I think I was left with my older Sister who was upstairs, but I decided to play it then with the lights off. Seeing that zombie turn around for the first time and then eventually getting to a save room 1:15. I just sat in that save room listening to the music for about 15 minutes to calm down. The save room theme for RE7 is one of the most unique themes because it brings a sense of hopelessness and dread with some sparks of hopefulness with each high note that is played on the guitar. Guys, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Yes there are re games like 6 or survival which obviously not great at all. But I meant I would play all of these games after many years. They will never be old for me. At least for me cuz you may not agree me and I'd respect that.
I own every single one.
Respect the evil
Is it possible to love Survivor?
I feel like the series will remain in time above any other form of horror media.
My favorites:
RE4's Save Theme and Merchant Theme
RE7's Save Theme
There's just something so nostalgic and beautiful about them.
Sorry, but RE1's OG and remake have to be my favorites. The eerie tone really set up the atmosphere. It gave me the chills.
glad you're sorry
What are you sorry about
apology accepted
I agree, RE1 saveroom theme is my fav cuz it's relaxing
It's awesome. The closest thing sonically but used in both a VERY different and similar way is the Firelink Shrine in Dark Souls 1. Clearly inspired if you ask me. But it's awesome.
Re7's save place is like a small glimmer of hope for Ethan winters against the horrible monsters he's faced upon, or at least thats what it sounds like to me
1-4 are legendary themes, brings back old memories from simpler times when new games were fresh and exciting for me, no responsibilities, wake up play games till dark, go to sleep, repeat , life was good
My favorite has to be re7s, it’s so relaxing
My Favourites
1. Resident evil 2 (OG) 8:06
2. Resident evil code veronica x 24:09
3. Resident evil 3 14:47
4. Resident evil 4 31:13 and 32:45
Great picks, I would also add biohazard at 5
Dead Aim is my favorite save theme
Resident Evil 2002
Resident Evil 2 1998
Resident Evil Code Veronica X
Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil 3 2020
Resident Evil Revelations 2

The save room music for the classic games really takes me back. Now life is just miserable and depressing. But there once was a time when it wasn't.
When you’re here just to listen to RE8’s safe room theme, but you listen to everything else first.
Of course that's how it starts. :)

I'm proud to say that Resident Evil Village is the first game on Capcom's story that have a brazilian dubbing(Sorry if I write something wrong, I'm not so good at this language).
It's also first RE since RE5 which has a Russian dub.
Cool

Super happy to see this. Hooray for Village!

Re3 is the Only one not very peaceful but mostly agonizing
Something about 31:41 that has always gave me the sense of determination to persist in the game; very calming to.

RE7 save room is haunting. Never understood why many said it put them at ease, it always made me feel more tense and worried that ol' Jack would come through the door and kill me.
But why tho lol, to me it's so , relaxing , like a room to take a break
7 will always be my personal favorite, such a masterpiece of a game
same the firsty one i played my dad introduced me to Resident evil in 2017
My first RE was Code Veronica and I remember it being so freakin hard and I always thought it was just me. Turns out there are other people who hard the same issues as I do. Its a game that makes you use ammo and healing items very sparingly. RE7 is my next favorite though. Followed by RE4
I was SO happy they went back to creating iconic save room themes because RE7 save room is just as iconic as the originals

It’s the feeling of purpose, I have a mission, a life to save, and being home……
This time we’re not a survivor, we’re the Knight on the way to the damsel.

RE0 save room theme screams HOPE. So peaceful.
I love it.
RE1's theme just always makes me feel a certain way... Especially the remake's version
Dead Aim feels very nostalgic to me, both in gameplay and the soundtracks.

Idk.
I love it.
Also R.I.P. CAVIA.
Amazing how despite all the carnage, horror and violence we face in the RE games, the devs still find time to use such beautiful, hypnotic music.

Code Veronica and RE2 (OG) are still the GOATS of Warding! when it comes to save room themes and OST!
I love the original and the RE1 remake, so classic!
There's just something about RE3's (PS1) save room theme that makes it so good.
It's so ominous, yet somehow peaceful.
Gaiden's theme is by far the best soundtrack 😂😂
Dead Aim (28:27) and RE5 Results (41:18) are the underappreciated ones that I like the most.
Said that, Code Veronica (24:09), RE2 (8:06) and the new Village (59:09) are my favourites of all.
RE 1-8: Hey there, I know you're scared. Come and rest here for awhile. Just breathe... 😌😮💨
RE Gaiden: DUDE, YOU'RE ALIVE!!
That RE 5 lost in nightmares is insane never heard it before👌🏼👌🏼
RE0 is so underrated the game and the save theme it’s so peaceful and actually has a happy feel to it
I'd love to see more games like this in style and art. But no....sadly there are NONE!!
I do love the re0 save theme, especially when you're on the train and the rain is hitting the window. But I'd be lying if I said I liked the game

Then I had to ask for RE2 when it came out and the music reminded me more of Terminator 8:06 but I still liked it. I brought the game over to my friend's birthday party and we played it until almost sunrise and there was around 10 of us. I still think it was best when played either alone or with 1 or 2 friends.
