  • Chinsegut Hill - “The spirit of what was lost and rediscovered” - The last owner gave it the name “Chinsegut Hill” after returning from the Yukon Gold Rush. It dates to 1847 when slaves cleared the land for a plantation. The Antebellum mansion is located near Brooksville, Florida. It’s now a historic landmark, agricultural research station and a retreat and conference center. Chinsegut Hill, sits atop the second highest point in Florida. It’s survived three Indian wars, a civil war, as well as natural and financial disasters. Everyone associated with the house has experienced loss but, in the process, seems to have rediscovered something of equal or greater value. Thank you for the sharing the video. My grandmother's family the Edrington, Hedick and Snow familes bought the "Hill" right after the Civil War. The area was called Tiger Tail Hill... also as Snow or Hedick Hill.
