I'm glad that I found this video! I was just commenting under another video about Cugnot and his invention of the Fardier in 1769 (the original, now lost to history) and 1770 (the larger version involved in the world's first reckless driving/automobile collision incident, now on display at Paris' Musée des Arts et Métiers today). And I myself first learned about Nicholas Cugnot in my copy of Paradox Press' 'The Big Book of Losers' (1997), which commemorates him but - as its title suggests - doesn't exactly _honor or exalt_ him for his invention. 🤔
Poor guy. He might have had more time to improve on his invention and make it fit for its intended role on the battlefields if not for France's downward spiral into the French Revolution being partly responsible for his funding being cut. In that regard, he was simply a victim of bad timing.

How does the inventor of the very first automobile, forget to install 'brakes' (LOL)? Was there a "Recall"? HA HA HA

Who needs a brake in that speed?

@@viktoryleone6098 Considering that Cugnot himself drove the Fardier through a brick wall on its first test drive, apparently _he_ did! 😆
Imagine being the inventor of the world's first automobile _and_ the first person to ever be fined and jailed for reckless driving! Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot was quite the overachiever, eh?
