1962 World Cup - Pele played the first 2 games and was injured for the rest of the tournament and he had to be replaced by Amarildo and Brazil again had the core of Garrincha, Didi, Djalma Santos and Nilton Santos and they easily won the world cup with Garrincha showing one of the greatest individual performances in world cup history.
1970 World Cup - While Pele was undoubtedly their Best Player he also had the greatest team of all time of Jairzinho, Rivelino, Torres, Gerson and Tosta who were magnificent during the tournament.

Didier Deschamps is a GENIUS coach... He made the exact moves (substitution & tactic changes) that France needed in 2 consecutive WC finals to fire up his team on the field. Both finals, France was lethargic first half... and then subs were made and the game switched gears abruptly!

I understand Frank's frustration, but for 70 minutes I was convinced that at least half the French team were ill with that virus... not to mention losing 5 starters before the cup even started... Hernandez within in minutes of the 1st game... *and then* players coming down ill right before the final! And *then* for 55 minutes or so played their asses off to come back *twice!* Yes Argentina and Messi were brilliant! So were France ❤
