Keep your suggestion to yourself and people who are afraid - dont eat. Coz to get rid E. Coli is to overcook it. The national dish will no longer tender. By the way it isnt a new news. It has already report there are E.Coli in the chicken due to the cooking method. Like I said, ppl have a choice for not eating it but dont destroy it due to your health concern.

To be fair, samples should be taken at about the same timing. Eg 11 am when the 1st batch of chicken meat is ready to be served. Bacteria will keep growing when the chicken is first prepared and awaiting to be served. As such the bacteria count for a chicken at 11 am will be very different from samples taken at 4 pm. The chopping board is also a conducive surface for bacteria growth as the day progresses. So many factors will contribute to the bacteria count so to be fair samples should be only taken when such varying conditions are kept to minimum.

Thanks I love chicken rice and this is the most comprehensive food review/comparison I've seen. I want to try your recommendations next time I'm in Singapore!

Gotta respect the hustle. As someone who had to take samples from a cookhouse everyday, your samples might not of good quality. 😅

You're amazing. I love street food while traveling and had my fair share of food poisoning. Maybe my stomach is too delicate but a country like Singapore should have above-average food safety standards.

Oh man never knew that my childhood favourite Bao Mei has 25,000 ecoli.
Tian Tian Chicken rice topped the ecoli list at 490,000. Ah Tai is better than that.
Chatterbox is so expensive but also got 7,800 ecoli.
Sin Kee Chicken rice also on michelin bib gourmand but got 37,000 ecoli.
Ah Boy chicken rice is near my house, good that it's top 4.
New Teck Kee: must try the truffle chicken rice platter.
Evertop Chicken rice: good halal place.

Please submit the results to the relevant Ministry to check the stalls with high count of bacteria; for the sake of public health safety, no joke.

First time watching this video. Ms Angel Hsu, you have done very well. Kudos to you! Being a CCK resident, Ah Boy is my next CR visit. Thank you for your effort and the video. It has helped me alot. My lamentation is that why in places like CCK, Bukit Batok etc (North-west and west) doesn't have good food like in the South and East. I hope that will change in time. I think the residents in CCK should support Ah Boy CR Stall. I will! (Liked and Subscribed)

I was really excited to watch this video. But after watching, I can't help but be disappointed in the way you conducted your "research." How much time between receiving your food and arriving to the lab? Was it the same amount of time for each restaurant? What were the weather conditions of that day? How long did it take to walk to your car after each order, etc.? As we all know, everything around us has bacteria on it, but bacteria multiplies faster in certain conditions. Quite honestly, this may "look" scientific to the average viewer because you used a lab and wore a lab coat. But I wish you would be more methodical in your approach and do this again. If the results are not accurate, you're doing a disservice to these restaurants, their potential customers, and the scientific community.

What should really be highlighted were the stalls that which served meat ranging 4900x the amt of E.Coli above the stipulated threshold. Even an additional 1-2 hours due to journey factors/extreme weather conditions can’t really account for this drastic increase in bacterial count. To put it simply, these stalls had had a large amount of starting bacteria present on their chicken meat to facilitate such rapid growth. I actually did a similar experiment few years ago in a microbiology lab; my professor back then would have immediately reported these stalls to SFA 🥲
