Freaking love this movie! Leo is brilliant in it. I really dig all the driving scenes in this one for some reason. I love your story about the first time you saw a Tarantino film, I grew up in Mexico and our town had this place called "La Casa de la Cultura" which was a community center where people could take all kinds of classes (dancing, music, weaving, etc). On Saturday's they would show indie films and that's where I saw Reservoir Dogs for the 1st time, turned me into a lifelong Tarantino fan.

I love it. I saw Dogs at Waterloo, Ontario's Princess Cinema, one of the best art house theatres in all of Canada. It was a short walk from my res on the UW campus, and I'd always buy the yearly membership (for $3!). Fun fact: during the day, the Princess is a strip club.

@@NeilTalks Damn, you can't even get a cup of coffee for $3 any more! So you could see some boobs and then watch a great film, sounds like a good time 😆

      @@junietunes2148 As a 20-year old on a darn tight budget, I wasn't complaining. :)

It's kind of ironic, that you said you have to know your history, or you won't see the Manson plot unfolding, but earlier you asked if Cielo Drive had some sort of significance. People that know their history, understood the Manson portion of the plot, as soon as they saw that street sign.

This movie is not about stunts, the movie reminds me of Inglorious Bastards, where Tarantino takes vengence against villians in both movies. In one, it's vengence against Nazis, In this movie, it's about vengence on another group., If you know the late 60s, than you'll know who this group is.

that movie was wild. i grew up with reruns of westerns etc. so im the last generation that actually watched the stuff that they show in this movie. my kid will have zero context for it while i had mild nostalgia. it made me appreciate the old hollywood more.

It was the last generation where I think there was a real mystique about the whole movie-going experience.

9:45 ... Brad has done a superhero movie, for about .325 seconds getting killed as Vanisher in Deadpool 2... lol But yeah, he has had an interesting career, going more for characters of substance than wow factor.

Like many men after watching this movie, I developed a small obsession with Cliff Booth. Haha

like you, i saw Reservoir Dogs at the Univ of Georgia student theater. they had a different movie playing each day several times. lots of good stuff coming out in those days. also remember Dazed and Confused around the same time.

Yeah, there were some great indie films back then. I immediately think of stuff like Clerks and El Mariachi.

Cool video. Saw this opening night on 35mm. Much difference from the Hateful 8 roadshow in Ultra Panavision 70mm! My family member worked on Django with QT. He insisted on having an 8 track in his new Dodge Charger rental car 😂 She somehow figured out a solution.

"Is that Sharon Tate?... Is this a MANSON movie???". You really weren't paying attention from that hotel in Greece, were you? lol
EDIT: Check out the book Tarantino wrote after the movie was released. It's really good.
Loving your channel btw. LOST brought me here but you've got some great content. GO HAWKS!
