@@ninersnation3298 Well, compared to 1.5 billion over 5 years allocated to provide misinformation and creates racial hatred to deflect economic and social problems at home and either Republicans or Democrat has to act hostile to win a seat. Why not invite students to come and see for themselves so they know what they are told and judge for themselves. Is that a bad idea? A total of 50000 students all over the world are on the list. US now need to allocate more to misinform.

Yes, it is so terrible that the invitation over 5 years amount to 50000 students. There will be a lot of wonderful stories to tell years later about how fantastic the trip is and learn to cross check information and not accepting what is just being dished out aren't that great?

The best way to counter lies and misinformation is personally visit the country i person and then compared to what has been told in home country. In that way, the future relationships of the country is more solid and not being sabotaged by a few that have the interests of their own and not the Nation's interest in their heart. They will become the best ambassador of friendship too with first hand experiences. Truth is hardest to contain when discovered.

Xi Jinping may be the most pro-American leader of China that the world has known. Cause he lived with common Americans, who treated him well, he knows how good Americans can be and that there is a difference between the Anerican leadership and the common American people. That is why despite pressure of the hawks in the Chinese establishment he still seems to call for calm and restraint despite the provocations and the personal attacks villifying him by the American establishment.
A great leader then.
China's government doesn't waste time worrying about USA's government because American politicians are just useless clowns. China is too busy with BRI, BRICS and high tech manufacturering.
Similar could be said of Putin. Most people have no idea what lies ahead if the hawks took power.
That means ordinary Americans who also value friendship and relationship. That does not refer to American politicians who want to hold on to personal power and wealth and hold to profit personally from their position in politics (most of those in Senate and Congress).
The chinese leader differentiate people to people relationship and those of US politician.
I have been following the progress of China. Like many countries there are problems but in general they are most progressive. I wish the US would get their act together and be more progressive. China is a great example. Win people in other countries by kindness, trade and cooperation. If everyone pulls together we can all reach a better tomorrow. You students are so very lucky.
