I was hit pretty hard with a ball in the head. Mri and tac were fine, go home. First 3 weeks, worst symptoms.. sleep was a complete mess, several nigjtmares per night and waking up 8 times per night,, lack of balance, nausea, dizziness, digestion problems, feeling like out of my self. After that time, i stayed mainly with big dizziness attacks, ringing in ears , headache and eye pain, and nausea.. an osteopath did a maneuver on my neck that took my main problem, the dizziness attacks.. 7 months now and i have lingering nausea and some headaches... desperate to get normal again... good luck for all of you struggling.. but inwould say, an adjustement to the neck is crucial!! Thanks fot the video

Yes this is so true! I’ve been going to my chiropractor for my back & shoulder are for 15 yrs. in 2019 someone crossed the Hwy line & hit me. Brain hemorrhage 😔. Had some issues like the headaches, balance, but all in all I felt pretty good. In December of that year I fell hard on our deck, knocked out but no bleeding per hospital. After the second fall I had Severe headaches & over all body pain. Noise, stimuli, concentration, memory, balance … I refer to myself as a Sober drink 😵‍💫. So many issues.
My chiropractor is a father/ son… father works on my back & son my neck. All the issues in my head & body were from my brain stem & top of spine were not playing nice., not matched up. After several treatments I began to feel better. Still headaches every day , some days good some days ok & some days just stay in bed. I don’t feel comfortable to drive again, reactions are slow even to talk but I am grateful to be alive. Never give up
My “ computer “ has many viruses 🦠
It’s one day at a time.

      @ProgressiveChiropractic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Unfortunately you're probably right. Many Chiropractors use their license to do a lot of things that aren't based in science, and that are NOT Chiropractic. That's why you have to find the right Chiropractors. Medical research supports Chiropractic. Let me know if you'd like me to share some of it. I'm glad you got help from your post concussion symptoms.

Fixing vertigo n headaches are good. But that's such a small part of it. What about the cognitive deficiencies? What about the personality changes? The impulse control? The loss of communication skills? The dangerous mood swings? The sluggishness? The memory problems?
Will chiropractic take care of these?

    • @ProgressiveChiropractic
      @ProgressiveChiropractic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Chiropractic is meant to correct the biomechanical/spinal part of the injury occurred to the spine that happened when the concussion happened. It also addresses any secondary venous outflow or CSF problem that the injury caused as well.
All of the symptoms you mentioned may or may not be helped with Chiropractic care. We have to look at RESTORING the health and normal function of the body, as opposed to "treating" a symptom.
Correcting the neurological, venous and CSF flow factors with Upper Cervical Chiropractic care may be enough. However, maybe a nutritional protocol to promote healing may be necessary also. There unfortunately may also be some permanent damage depending on the severity of the injury.
It breaks my heart to think that so many people haven't tried Upper Cervical Chiropractic that live with and have accepted that they may have to live with their condition for the rest of their lives.

I still have all of those symptoms, but have hardly gotten any better after almost 2 years, and I've been to a concussion clinic many times, and that helped me get back on track with my life, but I don't actually feel better in my symptoms. Seconding this, I am also in Melbourne and suffering from dizziness, close up blur, and visual hallucinations months after my last concussion (I'd received it before completing healing from the concussion I had weeks prior to it). When I got this second concussion, my vision changed so that patterns looked like they were rushing and moving, and the ground was riding up all around me. I am still perceiving the room as spinning, the ground as rising up all around me, sensations like I'm sinking, and continued close up blur and very minor issues with words moving when I read. I suffered very bad pain on my back, neck, arms, and legs that luckily after weeks of recovery went away, but these other symptoms remain. I've been to numerous hospitals, doctors, optometrists, and opthalmologists, and they all disregard me and almost treat me as of I am malingering. In other words, I am deeply desperate for help and have no idea who or where to turn to anymore. If you have any ideas, if be deeply grateful. To OP, I deeply hope you received the help you needed and are doing better.

Hi Kevin and thank you so much for your video.
To summarize my condition, I have had post-concussion
syndrome for the past 13 months that was caused from a sport related activity.
I have seen numerous general practitioners which, like many others with PCS, did
not get me anywhere. I eventually found a sport physiotherapist with background
training in concussions and through our assessment, she strongly suggested the
root cause of my issues were from my neck and eyes. However, detail on what
type of damage to my neck has occurred or any remedies other than routine
stretches were not told. The most information I have is the upper right side of
my neck “feels tight” (apologies I do not remember the muscle names). My symptoms include: dizziness, “in a fog”, poor concentration, extreme fatigue, disorientation, and short term memory. As well as eye related issues such as dizziness in busy places, reading problems and poor coordination.
Upon any activity to where I aggravate my neck, I am
generally “out” for two or more days with the symptoms as described above,
along with pain in the upper right of my neck. I generally know when I
will have a relapse by the sound my neck makes, which is equivalent to the
sound of a bean bag. When I say activity, I mean a few pull ups, or a few squats
with nothing but my body weight will bring back my symptoms full force for up
to 48 hours or more. Neck pain is present almost 100% of the time during any extreme relapse of symptoms.
This injury has taken much of my active life away. I cant run, do sports, or participate in any physical activity whatsoever without immediate
consequences. I miss living life. Now that I reside in Vancouver, I have been
seeking out medical specialists that were not available in my hometown for this
unique injury. I will be seeing a neuro-optometrist in 2 days to discuss my eye
issues, but in terms of the right specialist to see for my neck related issues,
I am still searching. My questions for you are: does my conditions described
above sound like a case that could be addressed by an upper-cervical
chiropractor? If so, would you know of any specialists in the Vancouver area
that could/would be willing to do an assessment?
I thank you greatly for your feedback

Your case sounds exactly like what could be helped by an Upper Cervical Chiropractor. Call UC Life Chiropractic at 205-386-5433. They are in Victoria, but will be able to guide you on who would be available for you to see. Tell them I had you call them. When you get better, be sure to share this with others in your condition!

Thank you Sir, would UC Life or yourself know any background information on neckdr.com/ ? As I am currently a student, I am limited by time constraints as well as funds to travel to Victoria until the end of my program (end of June 2017). As you touched upon in in one of your presentations, there are good, and there are bad practitioners in any field. Going by distance, Dr Michael J. Foran is the closest NUCCA chiropractor that I could see as soon as possible. But like many others, I am still hesitant to visit an unfamiliar doctor who may be more unfamiliar with my types of symptoms.
If I am able to get in to see a NUCCA chiropractor and I am able to be healed to the point I can exercise again, I will without a doubt spread the word of your specialty to everyone I possibly can.

    • @ProgressiveChiropractic

So I went to a consultation with another NUCCA chiropractor (Dr. Foran's pricing was way above my head) in the Vancouver area and found I had some noticeably large issues with my upper cervical spine and was noted many of my discussed PCS symptoms could be solved through NUCCA chiropractic. However, it will still be another month until I can get in to get x-rays and the full initial assessment. Is there anything I can do in the meantime to strengthen my neck, improve posture and/or relieve symptoms? I feel like my neck is getting worse with time and I don't know what to do about it as I am limited to how much exercise I can do before all my symptoms come back full force.
