This video is very special to me. 1) This is the first Emma Blackery video I've ever seen. 2) The albums she mentioned are also very special to me, and they have also changed my life. 3) This video was posted on my birthday.

Emma, I highly recommend you listen to this band called Angels & Airwaves. I'm a musician myself, and their albums (particularly two... Love, and We Don't Need to Whisper) changed the way I look at music entirely. Both lyrically and melodically, those albums are a riveting experience, and some of the songs I've written today wouldn't exist if it weren't for them. You should definitely check them out.

I looooooooove twenty one pilots so muuuuuuch right now. They're helping me get through the toughest obstacle of my life. So much umphhhh to their music
Not sure if everyone here knows her, but the album that changed my life was Tori Amos's "Under the pink". It's just woah. Also I fell in love with Nightwish when listening to "The highest hopes" album.
+Outo ninjalapsi Kana One of the ones for me was Tori's Little Earthquakes from a couple of years earlier (but Under The Pink is fantastic too). Up until then there had only been a couple of solo female artists that I'd liked but that album opened me up to so much, as it is so powerful and emotional. It led me to go back and check the ones I'd missed and made me check out Jewel's Pieces Of You in '95 and that one got me through a tough time and still informs me today..
Iwawes: yes little earthquakes is amazing! I just found that when I was a lot older. My dad had downloaded music to my MP3 player, and that's where I found "Under the pink"
Honestly there aren't many albums that changed my life. The only one I know for sure is Fall Out Boy - save rock and roll. All my friends listened to pop music and I didn't like it. Then my sister introduced me to FOB and holy crap. It's the album that got me through the hardest times in my life. It thought me that I didn't have to like what everyone else liked, that it was okay to like different music. If I hadn't listened to it I would still be in a toxic friendship hating life. It honestly changed my life as well as saving it.
+Don't Cry, Craft. you think that SRAR is pop. you are true about some songs however ABAC is 99.9% pop. FOB are still my top band(no pun intended) I do want them to go back to there older sounds. they could ever merge there old and new sounds, that would be interesting
Don't Cry, Craft I'm not saying they aren't pop, but i'm saying it was different. there were more instruments and more meaningful lyrics (in my opinion) and it was unlike anything i had head. It wasn't the same rhythm or chords as all the mainstream songs. am i making sense?
The Clash - London Calling, The Clash Eminem - The Slim Shady LP, The Marshall Mathers LP, The Eminem Show No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom T. Uriah Heep - The Best of Uriah Heep (Compilation) The Who - Who's Next The Kinks - Ultimate Collection (Compilation) Fucking classics. All shaped me as a person growing up, and some still are.
Some of my favorites (no particular order): 1. In Love And Death 2. Take This To Your Grave 3. Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge 4. A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out 5. If Only You Were Lonely 6. The Black Parade
Albums that changed my life A fever you can't sweat out - Panic at the disco Tourist History - Two Door Cinema Club Inside in/inside out - the kooks The Balcony - Catfish & the bottlemen Nevermind - nirvana In your honour - Foo fighters
When i was about 6 years old, i heard "5 colours in her hair for the first time" and it completely changed the way i looked at music, i remember dancing round to that and "Year 3000" in the living room and my dad took me to meet them both (Tom fletcher is a lovely guy!). But then i was stuck in a rut of pop music on the radio until got to secondary school and i heard "Black Parade" for the very first time, that album has completely changed the way i think and listen to music, this however was the same time they broke up
+Hipster Yoda ™ seriously, one of the most cliche albums of all time? with generic standard chord progressions and a minimal pass as a prog album? it's just more generic trash!
i'm a simple girl, i see blurryface, american idiot, blink 182's self-titled album, riot and three cheers for sweet revenge in the thumbnail, i immediately like
Green Day, Sum 41, and Good Charlotte were the first bands in middle school that I listened to and got me into rock; that really reached out to me and told me, "You don't have to force yourself to like your friends' music". From there the roster kept growing and I would watch Fuse's music video countdowns and write down bands that interest me. Even now I go back to those songs and rock out to "Thank you for the Venom" and "There's No Penguins in Alaska". So much nostalgia!
Albums that have changed my life are: This Is The End Of Control - Cherri Bomb We Stitch These Wounds - Black Veil Brides Put up or shut up - All Time Low Diamond Dogs - David Bowie Yalta - Social Repose Collide with the sky - pierce the veil White noise - PVRIS news of the world - queen Wretched and Divine - Black Veil Brides Sheer Heart Attack - queen Blurryface - twenty one pilots

Funny how people that used to listen to good charlotte / MCR or Green day (like me) are all fans of twenty one pilots now ! It's we're litteraly all the same with the same tastes lol
+tonyhawk94 some things don't change. even if their sonic and visual styles are completely different, these bands all had a raw honesty that just clicked with their listeners. twenty one pilots and Halsey are the only new 'alternative' artists that has really connected with the issues and human conditions we - but specifically I, myself - experience. it's really the reason why this same 'emo'/'punk' crowd are still here and we all like similar stuff.
+Brittany Alexandra I heard "Rooms" first, then listened to "Somewhere at the Bottom of the River" and "Wildlife," and for a while thought "Rooms" was their worst. Then I listened through it again, and I think I actually 'got' it that time and it just really grew on me. It's just so much more subtle than any of their other works that I think I overlooked most of it on my first few listens.
Albums that changed my life 1. IV led zep 2. Pretty Odd, Panic 3. Enema of the State, Blink 182 4. At the Drive In's self titled 5. London Calling, The Clash 6. The First 2 Suicidal Tendencies Albums 7. Folie, Fall out Boy 8. Freaky Styley, RHCP (*) 9. The Ramones Self Titled 10. Meat is Murder, The Smiths 11. All of Sleater Kinney's Albums are fucking insane! 12. At Folsom Prison, Johnny Cash
twenty one pilots are the reason I am going to learn to play piano/keyboard; as they have helped me to realise what a beautiful instrument it is and how it can tell a story. I really love Tyler and Josh, they honestly mean the world to me. |-/ stay street, stay alive
I went through a huge White Stripes phase when I left for College, I learned all their songs backwards, it completely changed my perspective of music because of how simple it was and the Alternative Bluesy vibe to it was amazing.
My parents a HUGE punk fans. Like Social Distortion, the Mighty Mighty Bostones, Volbeat, and Drop Kick Murphy's type punk and I've always been into the pop princess Justin Timberlake type music until I listened to Signed and Sealed in Blood, a Drop Kick album, and it opened my eyes to their (my parents') mindset and helped me bond with them on a different level. Since then I've been mostly listening to DKM and Volbeat and Flogging Molly, and that's how my family and I bonded, with punk music and concerts lol. I guess Signed and Sealed in Blood helped change my life because I was finally able to connect with my family on at least one topic.
I can't really think of a specific album, but I do know a song that changed my life forever: The Ballad of Mona Lisa by Panic! At The Disco. It's the song that made me emo :D
When You're Through Thinking Say Yes by Yellowcard. I have that CD and listening to it melts my heart. Holly Wood Died is a song that has stuck out to me ever since I discovered them in 09' and I've had it on repeat for months ever since Yellowcard announced their final album. Rest In Peace Yellowcard!
i think it was regional at best by twenty one pilots, the song robbers by the 1975 or under the cork tree by fall out boy that changed my life. and to be fair, gerard way is a gr8 obsession to have
albums that changed my life: •tell all your friends - taking back sunday •silence in black and white - hawthorne heights • i brought you my bullets, you brought me your love - mcr •dear diary, my teen angst has a bodycount - from first to last • the used - the used (self titled) • full colapse - thursday • they're only chasing saftey - underoath • fevers and mirrors - bright eyes • the places you have come to fear the most - dashboard confessional • deja entendu - brand new • from under the cork tree - fall out boy • a fever you can't sweat out - panic! at the disco • from the depths of dreams - senses fail • things aren't so beautiful now - a thorn for every heart • nightmare anatomy - aiden • decemberunderground - afi seriously recommend these to people who haven't heard them before
Save Rock and Roll A Fever you can't Sweat Out pretty. odd. danger days Vessel Future Hearts Collide With the Sky Hamilton original broadway cast soundtrack
Finch - Say Hello to Sunshine. I had just started getting into rock music at the time and I loved their first album, but that album single handedly defined my entire music taste for the last 11 and a half years since it's realise and it has led to me listening to most of my favourite bands I listen to today (Glassjaw, Deftones, Nirvana and, of course, Finch themselves)
THE HAMSTER SONG OH GOD. Also, the albums that influenced me the most were; 1. FROOT - Marina and the Diamonds (2015) 2. Cry Baby - Melanie Martinez (2015) 3.(tied) The Family Jewels (2010)/Electra Heart (2012) - Marina and the Diamonds 4. Blue Neighborhood - Troye Sivan (2015) 5. Chaos and the Calm - James Bay (2014/2015??) 6. Ultraviolence - Lana Del Rey (2014) I don't know if you've heard of any of these albums (well, you probably know about Troye's), but I definitely recommend giving some of them a listen. You've probably heard a song from Marina's album Electra Heart titled 'Primadonna'. It charted #1 in the UK around 2012/2013, the rest of the album is actually very moving and emotional, it talks about the problems of today's society and issues in modern pop culture. 'Teen Idle' talks about anxiety, depression and being suicidal as a teenager. I love all these albums, they hold a special place in my heart. I hope that, if you see this message, you will give them a listen!
Quite possibly the most I've ever related to a video, this is scarily similar to the albums that got me into music and changed me

SAMMME
When Emma mentioned Twenty One Pilots I was like *kabams over to all of their songs* now I'm slightly obsessed🤔
Futct, self titled (tøp) and no phun intended. Those albums for me really got me into what I'm into today and inspired me to do what I do now.
TRAAAASH

OMG BE MY FRIEND
BVB BVB BMTH BMTH TOP TOP
Not sure if everyone here knows her, but the album that changed my life was Tori Amos's "Under the pink". It's just woah. Also I fell in love with Nightwish when listening to "The highest hopes" album.
Anyone*
+Outo ninjalapsi Kana One of the ones for me was Tori's Little Earthquakes from a couple of years earlier (but Under The Pink is fantastic too). Up until then there had only been a couple of solo female artists that I'd liked but that album opened me up to so much, as it is so powerful and emotional. It led me to go back and check the ones I'd missed and made me check out Jewel's Pieces Of You in '95 and that one got me through a tough time and still informs me today..
+lwaves little earthquakes is amazing
+Outo ninjalapsi Kana ERMEHGERD Nightwish... God I love me some Nightwish.
Iwawes: yes little earthquakes is amazing! I just found that when I was a lot older. My dad had downloaded music to my MP3 player, and that's where I found "Under the pink"
The same thing happened to me with Green Day, and they're still my favorite band to this day. My dad even took me to see them for my first concert
Taught*
but like srar is practically pop...
+Don't Cry, Craft trueeee
+Don't Cry, Craft. you think that SRAR is pop. you are true about some songs however ABAC is 99.9% pop. FOB are still my top band(no pun intended) I do want them to go back to there older sounds. they could ever merge there old and new sounds, that would be interesting
Don't Cry, Craft I'm not saying they aren't pop, but i'm saying it was different. there were more instruments and more meaningful lyrics (in my opinion) and it was unlike anything i had head. It wasn't the same rhythm or chords as all the mainstream songs. am i making sense?
The twenty one pilots part had me smiling a lot :) They had the same impact on me

Finding twenty one pilots is a truly life changing experience i recommend it to everyone
The album Wildlife by La Dispute changed my life. I recommend to anyone.
Yes!
+Brittany Alexandra "Rooms of the House" is better, and a bit more accessible.
+Boston Suhr Yeah that one is my favorite as well. I was just introduced to Wildlife first.
1. every top album

3. every p!atd album
4. every mcr album + ep's + other stuff + solo music

twenty one pilots are the reason I am going to learn to play piano/keyboard; as they have helped me to realise what a beautiful instrument it is and how it can tell a story. I really love Tyler and Josh, they honestly mean the world to me. |-/ stay street, stay alive
TWENTY ONE PILOTS FOR THE WIN
YAAAHHHHH
yass |-/
+twistedsister331 awesome!!!
Same, my parents love punk so much and I finally listened to those bands and I love it so much now
I can't really think of a specific album, but I do know a song that changed my life forever: The Ballad of Mona Lisa by Panic!

The smiths yes ah
Finch - Say Hello to Sunshine. I had just started getting into rock music at the time and I loved their first album, but that album single handedly defined my entire music taste for the last 11 and a half years since it's realise and it has led to me listening to most of my favourite bands I listen to today (Glassjaw, Deftones, Nirvana and, of course, Finch themselves)
THE HAMSTER SONG OH GOD.
Also, the albums that influenced me the most were;
1. FROOT - Marina and the Diamonds (2015)
2. Cry Baby - Melanie Martinez (2015)
3.(tied) The Family Jewels (2010)/Electra Heart (2012) - Marina and the Diamonds
4. Blue Neighborhood - Troye Sivan (2015)
5. Chaos and the Calm - James Bay (2014/2015??)
6. Ultraviolence - Lana Del Rey (2014)
I don't know if you've heard of any of these albums (well, you probably know about Troye's), but I definitely recommend giving some of them a listen.
I SEE YOU WITH THE MARINA YES MARINA IS MY INSPIRATION
Shan Webb YESSSS
