Dear Emma, perhaps you have long ago been influenced by the
medieval German Celtic Saint Hildegard of Bingen? If not she might become one of your favorite sources of inspiration for the things that interests you.
A mystic and a prophet, a "wise woman of the woods" herbalist and nutritionalist, author of many works and treatises, composer of music that includes sonorous melodies and the Divine Feminine perspective, a leader of her community and of the Abess of her monastery for women, and also a determined influencer who successfully challenged and persuaded the Roman Catholic male hierarchy (including the pope).
I'm not certain, but I doubt there are equivalent terms in Christianity for a Wisdom Dakini, bodhisattva, vajrayogini, and even the Tara Buddha . Either way, She is much more than a wise nun who was finally canonized & recognized as a Doctor of the church after 800 or so years of neglect.

Book by Emily Raboteau. it reminds me a lot of braiding sweet grass, both are mothers and professors who talk about underserved populations, environmental issues and other important topics that are uncomfortable and usually overlooked 🙏💜

Thanks for all of these recommendations love! I have read Braiding Sweetgrass 4 times and it truly is my bible as well. It just makes so much sense. Also love your recommendation on sitting with the plant and getting to know it as a form of studying herbalism. I self taught myself herbalism and then took a course after just to find that getting to know the plant actually taught me just as much as studying. Both are needed
