You can tell cleeter does his research about his projects. He definitely learns alot as he goes but he puts in time to gain alot of knowledge on a project before starting.
I think the plastic they sink into would be enough for a while to seal it what with the torque on the bolts, but yeah I'd have put some kind of marine grade sealant on them for the extra peace of mind. Although these jet boats have a bilge pump as Cleetus mentioned ("auto-bilge holder" he said comes with the jet ski so thats definitely a bilge pump to clear leak water) so unless that stops working they won't really have to worry about water.
If I were going to install UHMW on a boat, I would fabricate threaded inserts made from solid aluminum round stock with holes blind tapped for machine screws. Make them long enough to pass through the hull and any structural members above such as ribs. Then weld solid on top and on underside to hull. This would give you a way to attach UHMW, without having to use rubber washers or sealant because the holes are blind tapped and don't pass through, so no leaks.

Might want to think about using Lock tight red thread locker on all them skid plate screws as the vibration of the motor & water pounding on the hull will indeed back them out if you don't ( been there ! )
Ultimate test for these should be ripping through Haulover Inlet.
Yes please.
That's a good way to get the crap beat out of you.
@@insanereindeer4081 but would he be a true Florida man if he didn't do it? Think of the news headlines: "Local giraffe attempts Haulover Inlet during high tide in 12 foot boat."
We had a chunk of that skid plate fold back on our air boat, caught a boulder, and launched everyone overboard... Bonus was we got off work early...
Yeah I keep thinking they should be angled and much higher up.
holy shit hahaha would of thought it would snap with the force and weight of the boat with occupants before flipping
James' wrap is gonna be all black like the rest of his vehicles (other than white buffalo) and ol Cleeter is gonna do a Dale wrap on pike
Cleeter, You definitely need to look for some space out front to build an Aussie Style Jet Boat course, loving our work my friend, Mick and Jackstand Jackie x
It’ll all be worth it as soon as you hit the water. My mini boat is the best thing I’ve ever bought. Pretty much hung up all my other hobbies. All jetboats, all the time 🤘🏻
When you can’t even buy a jetski and Cleetus goes out and get two brand new one for a killer deal then immediately tears them apart nice love it 😂👍🏽👍🏽 also I don’t comment very often keep up the good work Cleetus
Imagine how cool one of these little boats would be with a rotary.
Angel Motorsports rotary!
*Rob Dahm has entered the chat*
with boats and planes "dependability" is king. better stick to pistons.
Boosted boise still needs to build one!
Ok let’s be real who wants to see an LS swap in one them jetskis
Check out Jet ski bros.
Actually turbo Hayabusa will be sick on them. High RPM they will be fast as hell
You should've used colored bolts on the bottom, so when you're airborne it looks fresh AF!! Probolt or similar.
Epoxy or silicone caulk the front end of the plastic underside to make a smoother transition and less drag in the water.
I knew those cut lines looked too precise for you guys. Nice work Ty!
Have a stripper pole installed in James boat when he isn't at the shop LOL
I just snorted out all my cocaine everywhere
Ski pole for ski/wakeboards, 300hp should be fine
@@AdmissionGaming I hate it when that happens.
I feel like you and Matt's Off-road Recovery would along well. You've got the same taste in royalty free montage music.
Guildbrook Farms uses the music they used while "screwing around"
Intro: another episode of how Cletus gets hurt.
From dealing with poly on airboats, working in the sun makes the uhmw softer and more flexible.
You can tell cleeter does his research about his projects. He definitely learns alot as he goes but he puts in time to gain alot of knowledge on a project before starting.
Build a jetboat race course at the Freedom Factory.
I randomly came across some jet boat racing on TH-cam. They're actually legit. Def check em out.
@@matthewmcclain1316 It is crazy when they race on those narrow canal tracks.
@@sam_s_ yeah, that's what I was talking about. Those things are nuts
Man I wouldn't put my hand there.
Cleeter: " you don't think?"
Proceeds to to start sawing. Lol
James:

“Oh this is a thing of some sort!”
So glad you guys have a skilled fabricator on hand .
Yay we’re finally done!!!!! Realizes there a whole second boat to do!!! Frickkk!!!
Drill, countersink, tap, bolt. Doesn't even seal the bolts going into the hull... I smell multiple water leaks going on here brother
Maybe they come with sealant already on the threads?
I think the plastic they sink into would be enough for a while to seal it what with the torque on the bolts, but yeah I'd have put some kind of marine grade sealant on them for the extra peace of mind. Although these jet boats have a bilge pump as Cleetus mentioned ("auto-bilge holder" he said comes with the jet ski so thats definitely a bilge pump to clear leak water) so unless that stops working they won't really have to worry about water.
Jesse Roddick I would seal them too, maybe with some Loctite glue & sealer.
You are pretty “screwed” if you lose 3-4 screws in the water...
3m 5200 is a life saver
If I were going to install UHMW on a boat, I would fabricate threaded inserts made from solid aluminum round stock with holes blind tapped for machine screws.
Make them long enough to pass through the hull and any structural members above such as ribs. Then weld solid on top and on underside to hull. This would give you a way to attach UHMW, without having to use rubber washers or sealant because the holes are blind tapped and don't pass through, so no leaks.
Can’t post during the championship game. You’re killing me cleeter!!
Same... RTR
This video isn't going anywhere
Lets go darth saban, fuck ohio state lmao
Nobody:
Cleet: That's a cute lil ripper there
That's what he will say about his child one day lol
Those are coming together nicely
I water skiid off a 7ft Mini Boston Waler as a kid
It had a 55hp Merc outboard was good for about 40 on the water and could turn on a turtles back
You guys are in for a treat
Wake-board the Colorado Cleet !
You can pull the whole motor out complete. Done many of them. Also there is a coast guard mph governor on those. Hooked through gps etc. and that’s a rotax motor. Completely different from a can am motor
Cleetus: "Some of this stuff is gonna be hard to decipher."
James: "Uh this is a thing of some sort"
James got me dyin' over here
HKS makes upgraded chargers and inter coolers
"A thing of some sort"
Jack stand Jimmy 2021
Cleet you're going to effin love that IBR it's so damn cool! On my ski I go from 50 mph to dead stop in about 20 feet!!!!
Should've done the alumiweld method for attaching them. Must have been hard work making and bolting all of those holes.
The story behind those 2020 jet skis is a perfect representation of the year from hell. What a shame.
James is always the one that’s like “yeah I’m not too sure what to do here” and in 3 and a half hours there’s nothing but shell left with a nitrous kit on the table 😂
"Oh, This is a thing of some sort."
Fucking gold.
Loved how you held up your pinkie for extra safety :D
Nothing beats that good ol cleeter montage music
WHO SAID GIRAFFES CANT FLY. . . 20 secs in hes flying on the freedom swing
Do a Dale Earnhardt schemed paint job on one of them
Love how they teased the whole front of toast is gone
I came to the comments to see if anybody else noticed, that car is going to be sick
That was the only way to go. After seeing how nice the El Camino turned out I can't imagine them wanting to fight with stock sheet metal.
@@otm646 of course not it was a way better choice to build it right the first time than to fight with it later
Serious race car mods for old toast.
RXP-X and RXT-X are bad ass skis. Absolute rippers in sport mode
Cleeter with the carpenter skills, that is exactly how you make those sort of cuts.
Is freedom 500 and cleatus and cars in April open to public?
If it is I'm trying to book flights and stuff now, my work just went full ot so I'm putting in for it off now either way
I would ask for it off and if freedom factory is still closed just go to work

I was going to say the same thing!
Only a matter of time before they find out there’s people with 600hp jet skis
👀
I mean cleetus McFarland drove Mike Finnegan's game over so there's that he knows what is out there🤷♂️
Kyle from boostedboiz rode a 1000hp ski and cleetus is good friends with boostedboiz and watches their videos so I’m pretty certain he knows
Tye has brought the team so far since this video with his fab skills
Guys should come to Hoonah Alaska, if y’all come there around June to Sept. you guys could try the longest Zip line in the world. Awesome fishing there and hunting. Super small town around 900 people there, and lots of logging roads to ride ATVs
