Cleetus I have been in the Navy for 21 years now. Been threw typhoons on a small boy. I am so proud you didn’t try and go any farther into the ocean. At night and especially with changing weather in Florida. Way too dangerous in a small craft. I want to see videos for years to come. Glad you came in and stayed safe and I loved the video.
I've spent a lot of time on the water in small boats in the ocean and so has my brother. So watch the weather, the winds can ruin the seas fast. Tides play a role too and the best shot is to go just before the sun comes up. Its a beautiful thing to be on the water while its rising.
On tonight’s news: A Florida Giraffe was spotted in a Mountain Dew can pulling a massive wheelie across the entire ocean. Such odd behavior from a giraffe in the ocean.
yeah, i knew it was not going to work lmao, them 12 ft long boats would even have trouble on Georgian bay, (lake huron), believe it or not it can get really bad, mostly because fresh water is more volatile than salt, those things are better for small to medium sized lakes or rivers, i plan to get a jetstream instead of a car that way i can speed, no speed limits here unless you are close to shore, plus they just upped all our fines and lowered speed limits locally, bastards
Favorite channel on TH-cam….. hands down. This is how I wind down on a daily basis. Been around since the c8, and I don’t say much, ever. But, I love this channel and it gets me through. Thanks Cletus.
I think back to all the old marathon racers in the 50s and 60s. Running tiny little outboard boats, many sitting on the floor all the way back near the transom. The fun wears off fast with sun beating down and no break from the pounding. At least the machines held together.
All thumbs up for discovering. This was a discovery mission, and you got really far. Not a single shred of remorse or regret, you were out there doing it.

Keep on pushing Cletus!!
On a jetski / waverunner you can absorb the bumps with your legs... Sitting in a hard mounted seat, the only thing between your brain and the hull slamming a wave is your spine.
Almost as stupid as the time my high school buddy and I took his step Dads 10 foot aluminum boat with a 9 hp low profile outboard from Marathon out to Washerwoman light tower about five miles out, great weather but 6 to 7 foot swells. Had to wear a dive mask to ward off the spray to be able to see ahead. (Spring break 1962).

Haha, everyone always says “well least they went out doing what they loved...” as if there passing was peaceful or something. The reality is they are terrified and full of regret realizing they aren’t going to make it.
By the time you got there you probably had a concussion without even realizing it. People that often times ride Sea-Doos and Jet Skies end up with CTE due to concussions from the brain shaking back and forth in your head as you're repeatedly slamming into waves. With that small of a boat and the wake being pretty choppy your brain was shaking around in your head for hours and hours. Doesn't seem worth. Still looked like you had fun though!
using the IC for stretches and canning it when they did the mental math of how the boats were handling were all good decisions.

Today the wild giraffe learns why ocean going vessels aren't 12ft long.
It's about the motion in the ocean 🤷🏼♂️
yeah, i knew it was not going to work lmao, them 12 ft long boats would even have trouble on Georgian bay, (lake huron), believe it or not it can get really bad, mostly because fresh water is more volatile than salt, those things are better for small to medium sized lakes or rivers, i plan to get a jetstream instead of a car that way i can speed, no speed limits here unless you are close to shore, plus they just upped all our fines and lowered speed limits locally, bastards
I've seen the Gulf look like a mirror one day and Hammer you the next
I read a great book by a fella about how he went around the world on a 12' yacht. Great read, is possible, isn't necessarily smart

I think back to all the old marathon racers in the 50s and 60s. Running tiny little outboard boats, many sitting on the floor all the way back near the transom. The fun wears off fast with sun beating down and no break from the pounding. At least the machines held together.
"You think we got this dude?" Words that should never be said on a boat.

So many people talking shit about taking the small boats in the ocean, saying you need a 40 foot power boat bla bla bla. literally thousands of people take small ass jetskis hundreds of miles in the ocean and trips to the keys all the time, personally i have taken a jetski from 1995 through 7 foot swells.
That's living!

this is not only due to the size of the boats. but especially on the shape of the hull which are made to slide over water and not to cut through waves
Comfort sized waves = length of hull in water/7.
These thing are going to be unpleasant in more than a ripple.

Cletus my man give that dry bag more turns or its going to make you a sad man one day. dry bags only work if you roll it tight enough, and enough wraps so that when you fold it over to close water can not work its way back. those two wraps would not even keep it afloat permanently much less keep your wallet bone dry.
