    OK, I just heard you say acrylic… I wasn’t sure what it was because it was blue color and you have such a strong accent and I’m a Texas girl. Sometimes I have a hard time understanding you. But that’s OK because I get to always rewind until I figure out what you said lol… absolutely love your channel. You know you’re teaching a lot of really cool techniques. Now, I have used Driftwood to stretch out my silver metal for a design that I am making for a pendant. it’s actually the zodiac sign Taurus, but it’s the bull face…. I just felt it needed to have a 3-D look. And driftwood is very soft and porous and it was easy for me to use my dabbing blocks to stretch my metal out…. OK I wanna go back and watch your video.

    Andy, I have a tip for you!! Ise an inverted cone bur to clean up extra solder inside a bezel, much better than a ball bur to get that meniscus clean! My mentor told me that tip. 🌺 🌺 🌺

      Cheers. I do use those too. I literally grab what's to hand and also will depend on how the solder is sitting. 👍🏼

    Another great video. My wife fancies having a go at silversmithing amd wants to focus on pendants, so I'll be sending her a link to this. I'm looking forward to seeing your proper business stuff. Do you ever do blokes rings? Id love to see you do a video on making a signet.

      I really do think most people can do this. If in doubt as a first peice, it could even be made without the stone. Maybe even as a plain shape. Or still with the recess for the stone, but that space could be a texture.
      I've made loads of gents rings. But signet gents rings are actually the only ring type that I cast from a hand carved wax. Some of the signets I make would just have too much metal wastage. There will be a video which is something to do with signet tops in the future for sure.
      I'm still just sorting my website to tie it all in together. It's just finding the time.
      Thanks again for watching.

    This is my final comment for this video that I watched entirely!!! This pendant turned out exquisite.!!! And with less material… I am definitely going to give it a go… not sure what shape I’ll be using… if you have an Instagram or Facebook, let me know and when I finish, I’ll send you a photo of it… also I’ll be posting this on my Instagram channel. I have over 2000 followers no big deal… but I will definitely be sharing you to all of my followers as well….. anyway I enjoy your videos so much… thank you for taking the time and the effort that you do when posting these really great videos hugs 🤗, Michelle

      No problem at all. I'll do a mini reveal thing in a few videos time. My wife pretty much does all the Instagram stuff, so I don't really see all the messages. But I'll be revealing that anyway along with my website. I think my insta is about 5.5k followers, so not much more. I will try and set up a specific website for this and maybe have a forum type thing for sharing pics. Just getting my head around the best way to do it.
      Definitely give it a go. I'm loving the nice little community that is starting here too.

    If you’re from America and you have a Hobby Lobby Store they sell packages of used leather for $7.99 or go to Goodwill or resell shops and you can buy leather belts there as well that you can cut up. Or actually you’re gonna need a sharp knife the way it’s being done in the video.

      You can even get leather samples on sofa/couch furniture websites. You can normally ask for colour sample and get bits for free. If thinner samples, you can cut with scissors, but may need to cut 3 or 4 and stack them.

    • @metalofhonour
      @metalofhonour  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @kenwalker7160 I can't remember off top of my head, bit generally 2/0 for smaller detail cutting and large cut outs and piercing I use a 2 cut.

    The burr that you’re using inside the bezel It’s just a cylinder round 4 or 5mm burr? I like the way it cleans up the solder… but I have other burrs that I use too…. But I really like the one you’re using….

    • @metalofhonour
      @metalofhonour  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'll most often grab to most suitable burr. But sometimes I'll just use whatever is in the drill and make do for quickness. The cylinder burr is very handy though.

    • @aumi.jewels
      @aumi.jewels 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@metalofhonour I’m the same way when using what’s in my drill too. I don’t have a quick change so it does suck when I have to change bits.

      Good morning. I did indeed say acrylic. In England we call it perspex. Just plastic sheet. I'm pretty sure it's the same as what other countries call acrylic. I'm sure someone see this and correct me if I'm wrong. You can use hard wood even. It's so versatile and a cheap way of doing things for quirky results that look like it's taken much longer.
      Thanks again for watching so much.
