Stones are not symmetrical. They are not even in size. So when cutting a seat for your stones remember this little tip!
It applies to bezel set as well as claw set stones. Make sure the stone always is tried in place in the correct orientation every time. This way you will get the neatest and more accurate seat.

Good tip I’ve been using this technique for years not just for bezels but also for high or low spots on stone girdles and the corresponding prong on prong set pieces.

What is the sticky material you’re using to grab the stone with?

Hello! What is that tool you use to place and remove the stone from the bezel?

hi Andrew i recently bought a new Sievert jewellery torch and it has a new kind of regulator on the hose from the tank, it has got 2 wheels on it top wheel has decrease and increase the bottom wheel has nothing on it but it rotates as so the top one, hope your following me because i am lost already haha, i have tried the torch it works great but i am not sure if the bottom wheel is to lock the top wheel when you put it to the correct pressure or do you just put the bottom wheel down and leave it alone, i have been in touch with the company i bought it from but they can not really help me as there in the dark as much as i am, i was just wondering as in your worldly travels and your experience have you ever came across anything like in that nature, wondering can you help me please, great vlog good tip take care keep well keep safe.

I just read a description of that funny sticky plug shaped thing used to pick up the stone. Can you tell me why it is mixed with charcoal? Thanks.

It stops the wax being too sticky and stops it leaving too much of a residue
