  • Most take it for granted that Christians worship on Sunday, but the Sabbath God established was actually on Saturday. How did the change occur, and what do we do about the Sabbath today?

Jesus had sabbath on Saturday. From friday at dusk to Saturday at dusk. The Ten Commandments say to remember the Sabbath and keep it holy. That is good enough for me. There is no 8th day of the week.

Be mindful that this is the only commandment that says “remember” the sabbath day to keep it holy. It later go’s on to say the 7th day is the sabbath day. So from Sunday to Friday do all of your work and rest on the day the lord has blessed us with. We cannot change a commandment 💜

Yes, he came to fulfill the law, and that is what he did. Do you think he left before fulfilling it? He fulfilled the ceremonial laws with his death. It is finished. After Christs death Paul says we are no longer ordered to live under the ceremonial laws anymore. Which is why right after Christs death they all worshiped on Sunday instead of Saturday. A new covenant began after his death. God no longer orders a specific day. That law is gone. You can worship any day of the week as you wish. In fact the bible say's to worship every day.

@@cannotbeshaken7889 And yet the Book of Acts specifically states that Paul KEPT the seventh-day Sabbath and in Hebrews he wrote that there remains a Sabbath rest for God's people. @@LocoMenteClaraOne Acts 20:7- "On the first day of the week when we were gathered to break bread, " (this is clearly talking about a church service, they always broke bread at their meetings of worship. And the first day of the week is Sunday.
Matthew 28:1 (this was before Christs resurrection so they hadn't changed it to Sunday yet, but this shows us the first day of the week starts on Sunday morning at dawn.) "Now after the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week...etc".
Mark 16:1 - Verse 1. "When the sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary bought spices, so that they might come and anoint Him." Verse 2. "Very early on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen." This shows us The first day of the week is at sun rise on Sunday. (again this is before His resurrection so they hadn't changed it to Sunday yet)
1 Corinthians 16:1-2 - This is AFTER His resurrection. So they are no longer saying Sabbath, and instead say, "The first day of the week". - "Now concerning the collection for the saints as I directed the churches of Galatia, so do you also. On the first day of every week each one of you is to put aside and save, as he may prosper, so that no collections be made when I come. When I arrive, whomever you may approve, I will send them with letters to carry your gifts to Jerusalem; and if it is fitting for me to go also, they will go with me."
"Now concerning the collection for the saints". This is a gift to the saints who were in need at that time. It is not the OT required giving of 3 tithes. As you can see it's being commanded to only this church and the churches of Galatia. It says he is coming to get the money and deliver it to Jerusalem. Paul is ordering them to give money each time they attend church, and the church is to save it up for when he arrives.
Colossians 2:16 - It says "new moon or a sabbath day".
Rev. 1:10 " I was in the spirit on the Lords Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice. "The lords Day" in the bible refers to Sunday, the day of the Lords resurrection.
Look at Deut. 5:14 They are being ordered to keep the sabbath. And it say's, "For you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out of there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm; therefor the Lord your God commanded you to observe the sabbath day." Now how could that be any clearer? The sabbath was commanded as a reminder to these Jews that they were once captive and then rescued. The sabbath did not exist before this. It was created for this reason, and not until this time after being rescued out of Egypt. I am not a Jew, so this does not apply to me, I was not captive in Egypt and I was not rescued out of Egypt. And neither were any of the Gentiles back then. You won't find one single verse in the whole bible where God is ordering a Gentile to observe the sabbath. Because the Gentiles were not Gods people at that time, and they were not rescued from Egypt. The OT is the story about the Jews and the old covenant. The NT is for the Gentiles and the new covenant. To interpret Genesis 2:1-3 as a law given to humanity is in error. Though sin abounded, God gave no law until Moses. Paul states in Romans 5:13-14 that there was no law given from the time of Adam until the time of Moses. Furthermore, from Adam to Moses, there is no record in Scriptures of anyone keeping the Sabbath (especially during the period of Egyptian slavery captivity). The Sabbath was not commanded until After they came out of Egypt. Genesis 2, it is called the seventh day and not the Sabbath. It is a description of what God did, not what God requires of man.
Hebrews 4:1 - This is not talking about a sabbath rest. This is talking of a promise. The earthly rest which God promised to give was life in the land of Canaan which Israel would receive as their inheritance. (Dt 12:9, 10; Jos 21:44; 1Ki 8:56) Gods rest includes His peace, confidence of salvation, reliance on his strength, and assurance of a future heavenly home. The verse is explaining the rest which God gives is not something incomplete or unfinished. It is rest which is based upon a finished work which God purposed in eternity past, just like the rest which God took after He finished creation. It is saying, those who exercise faith in the message of God will enter into their spiritual rest. By way of explanation for the statement in verse 3, the writer cites the illustration of the seventh day of creation and quotes Ge 2:2. Then he repeats the last part of Ps 95:11. No where is it saying we all currently need to rest on the seventh day.
Those observing the Sabbath are showing that they are living in agreement with the Covenant. Not observing the Sabbath is to reject the Covenant and punishable by death. Is this what your doing today? No because your not Jewish and you weren't saved from Egypt, so your not under this covenant, and because you'd be sent to jail if you murdered a church member for not keeping the sabbath. It also say's to work 6 days a week. Are you working 6 days a week? Think about all the other sabbath laws that go along with the sabbath. Are you keeping all those laws?
Jesus died on the cross and paid for our sins. After this, the sabbath and all its trappings and strict rules were dropped, as those rules were no longer needed, and church was on Sunday to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are free to worship God at any time any place on any day.
We enter God’s rest when we put our faith in the person and work of Christ. The entire Law of Moses (which includes the Ten Commandments), is obsolete because Jesus Christ fulfills the Law of Moses. Jesus institutes the New Covenant. Jesus death on the cross is fully sufficient for our salvation and our sanctification. Teaching observance of the Sabbath law diminishes the completed work of Jesus Christ. There is no greater truth which we may place our faith than the truth that Christ’s work on the cross is completely sufficient. Our Savior is our Sabbath rest. Our Savior makes us holy. Observance of a day, or any aspect of the Law, will not gain us the righteousness we so sorely need. We embrace Christ alone through faith alone.

@Cannot Be Shaken... Why are you trying so hard to justify following man's traditions rather than God's commands? This isn't case law, it's God's Law. God made the Sabbath holy at the beginning of time.. for ALL of humanity. It stands as a reminder that He is the creator of all things. When we observe the Sabbath we acknowledge God as Lord of all. Nowhere in scriptures will you find that, as the Lord of the Sabbath, Jesus ever abolished the Sabbath.
Satan wants to do away with the Sabbath because he wants to be acknowledged as god. he wants to be worshiped... and through his "church" he has set up a day of false-worship for himself. Those who fall for this deception are much more likely to fall for his other lies. Don't be deceived any longer!

Your best chance for knowing what the days of the week were originally called is in Genesis chapter one at creation week.
The days of the week today are Latinized for forms of planetary gods. This is why dies Solis, day of the sun, was adopted by Roman Catholicism to call it the Lord's day, the day of the sun/son.
God names the days of the week numerically, and it's still taught as such in Hebrew today in Israel.
It's called Yom rishon, first day.
Despite Christianity's blatant disregard for the Sabbath through synchronization with paganism for the "venerable day of the sun", the record of scripture still remains true. Shabbat is the seventh day of the week, which God sanctified since creation.
Don't look to Latin, look to Hebrew. Look to the scriptures. We are commanded to keep the seventh day holy by God, not the first day of the week.
Worship everyday, but keep the seventh day holy.
Christ calls himself Lord of shabbat in Matthew 12 and Mark 2. He kicks off his earthly ministry reading of Jubilee in Isaiah 61 on shabbat.
Stay safe and have an awesome shabbat today.

When you think about it, why would call Sabbath Saturday? That's anachronistic. Also, the name Saturday is rooted in Roman paganism for Saturn's day. Forgive me, but it isn't Saturn's day anymore than the venerable day of the son belongs to the sun god.
In Isaiah 46:10, the Father says he declared the end from the beginning. And in Isaiah 66, he says that all the earth will come and worship him from Sabbath to Sabbath and from New Moon to New Moon.
“For as the new heavens and the new earth that I make shall remain before me, says the Lord , so shall your offspring and your name remain. From new moon to new moon, and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before me, declares the Lord .
      Isaiah 66:22‭-‬23
Hallelujah! We have so much to look forward to as the weekly seventh day Sabbath is a shadow of things to come with the Lord of the Sabbath ushering them in. Thank God for the weekly reminder of our rest from sin now, and our rest that is to come to this world.

Unfortunately, many Christians are not aware that after about 360 AD, when Catholicism had gained a foothold of authority, Saturday observance of Sabbath began to become supplanted, although much of the early eastern churches still refused to stop keeping the Sabbath. The abolition of the Sabbath began when Sunday began being celebrated as a day of resurrection. It became known as "the Lords Day". However, "The Lords day" phrase was used 300 years before that, when John wrote the book of Revelation. He, at that time, was referring to the true Sabbath. 'The Lords day' belongs to Christ, as it is referred to as such by Christ Himself (The Son of Man is "Lord of the Sabbath") and in the OT -, e.g., _“If because of the sabbath, you turn your foot From doing your own pleasure on _*_My holy day,_*_ And call the sabbath a delight, _*_the holy day of the LORD honorable,_*_ And shall honor it, desisting from your own ways, From seeking your own pleasure, And speaking your own word, Then you will take delight in the LORD, And I will make you ride on the heights of the earth; And I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father, For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”_ (Isa 58:13-14, NASB 77) - As you can see from the text in Isaiah, God calls the Sabbath HIS holy day. Therefore, John would never surmise or assume it could be any other day. Friday Sundown, to Saturday Sundown is Gods Holy Day - and has been from the day HE Himself first kept it on the 7th day if creation. Immediately after he had "rested", he made a declaration that he "Blessed it" and He "Hallowed it" (Set apart for special use). Note that The Lords Holy Day was in place before the fall of Adam and Eve. This means it was never a "shadow", like the feasts, or other Sabbath days, which were feast days. The Holy Sabbath of God is still Holy, and blessed. That has never changed.
Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts. And by the seventh day God completed His work which He had done; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. *_Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made._* (Gen 2:1-3, NASB 77)

    Today's Lesson:
DO WE STILL NEED TO ABIDE BY THE TEN COMMANDMENTS?
    WHY THE LAWS STILL APPLYS!
Many modern Christians believe that because Jesus kept the law for us, that we no longer have to follow the commandments. They believe that God's Grace revoked his laws.
Jesus made it quite clear in the book of Matthew that God's law is infallible.
“Do not think that I came to destroy the law, or the prophets. I did not come to destroy, but to fulfill.”- Matthew 5:17
Jesus continues by telling us what will happen if we fall away from the commandments.
“Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whosoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven”-Matthew 5:19-20
In Roman's, written after the crucifixion of Christ, the Apostle Paul reminds us that the commandments still apply, by recalling to us what they are.
“Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For
this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.”- Romans 13:8-10
Clearly the laws of God are still important and are valid after the death of Christ. Jesus died for the opportunity for us to repent for our sin, not for us to freely live in it.
The commandments of the old testament are the commandments of the new testament, as God, Jesus, the Prophets, and Apostles have reminded us to keep and obey them.
“Love the Lord, your God, and keep his requirements, his decrees, his laws and his commandments always.”- Deuteronomy11:1 BIBLE FACTS

Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.
      Colossians 2:16-17 | NIV
One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and as his disciples walked along, they began to pick some heads of grain. The Pharisees said to him, “Look, why are they doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?” He answered, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need? In the days of Abiathar the high priest, he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions.” Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
      Mark 2:23-28 | NIV
On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues, and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.” Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God. Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue leader said to the people, “There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.” The Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each of you on the Sabbath untie your ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water? Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?” When he said this, all his opponents were humiliated, but the people were delighted with all the wonderful things he was doing.

passages of Scripture such as Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 16:2, Colossians 2:16-17, and Revelation 1:10 indicate that, even during New Testament times, the Sabbath is no longer binding and that Christians are to worship on the Lord’s day, Sunday, instead.
The early Church Fathers compared the observance of the Sabbath to the observance of the rite of circumcision, and from that they demonstrated that if the apostles abolished circumcision (Gal. 5:1-6), so also the observance of the Sabbath must have been abolished.
The following quotations show that the first Christians understood this principle and gathered for worship on Sunday.
      The Didache
“But every Lord’s day . . . gather yourselves together and break bread, and give thanksgiving after having confessed your transgressions, that your sacrifice may be pure. But let no one that is at variance with his fellow come together with you, until they be reconciled, that your sacrifice may not be profaned” (Didache 14 [A.D. 70]).
      The Letter of Barnabas
“We keep the eighth day [Sunday] with joyfulness, the day also on which Jesus rose again from the dead” (Letter of Barnabas 15:6-8 [A.D. 74]).
      Ignatius of Antioch
“[T]hose who were brought up in the ancient order of things [i.e. Jews] have come to the possession of a new hope, no longer observing the Sabbath, but living in the observance of the Lord’s day, on which also our life has sprung up again by him and by his death” (Letter to the Magnesians 8 [A.D. 110]).
      Justin Martyr
“But Sunday is the day on which we all hold our common assembly, because it is the first day on which God, having wrought a change in the darkness and matter, made the world; and Jesus Christ our Savior on the same day rose .....

Jesus said himself that in the last days the Biblical Sabbath would still be in effect. The proof is in Matthew 24:1-20 when Jesus was talking to his disciples about the future. He tells them all the terrible things that are going to happen and gives them directions to flee when Jerusalem is taken. Then He says “Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath.”
The temple was not torn down until 70 AD. That was the first part of the prophecy. Why would Jesus tell them to pray in the future that their flight is not on the Sabbath Day if the Sabbath is no longer in effect?

Jer. 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
What foolishness, that the *SDA and their manifold splinter groups reads themselves as righteous and holy people and have become braggarts and boasting of how holy they are, or rather pretend to be!* They see the words, "keep my commandments" and *automatically *say it's taking about them, when no such thing was remotely intended* . Like the Sabbath keeping Pharisees, that betrayed, persecuted and murdered Christ and the Apostles, they see themselves as righteous, while doing enormous wickedness from their hearts.
The entire chapter of Matthew 23 is a scathing rebuke of the Sabbath keeper's self-righteousness over their self-proclaimed holier than thou law keeping, while being desperately wicked.
If any of them were remotely honest, they would admit they are not what they say they are! When pinned down, they will admit they are laden with sin, but ONLY when you pin them down. They are knowingly and willfully deceiving others about who and what they are!
Likewise, they know that the book of Revelation written in 90AD has *nothing to do with the Adventist's preaching anything and their 3 angels message!* Once again, they read themselves into scripture where the scripture says NOTHING about the Adventist Church commissioned to preaching anything! truthful???
When do they come humbly to Jesus and be truthful???
How long do they deceive themselves and the public??
The Adventist church has sent millions of their followers to hell with their deceit and vile false doctrines and self adulation. If you want to be one of the, just ignore this warning like the others.
Well said CHRIST TO the Sabbath Keepers Mt. 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and *Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves*

@@salachenkoforley7382 I appreciate you keeping the conversation going! I am not sure what your definition of "preached the 10 commandments" is, but there are examples of each commandment in the NT.
In regards to Matthew 22:36-40 - On those 2 commandment hangs all the law and prophets. The first 4 of the 10 commandments is how we love God and the last 6 are how we love our neighbor. Therefore I don't see anything different being "preached" by Jesus saying that.
In my opinion, it ultimately comes down understanding what the 10 commandments are and what function they play. We have multiple examples (in the new testament and otherwise) that tell us sin is the transgression of the law (10 commandments in context) AND that we will be judged by that law (of LIBERTY I might add). Please notice how James talks about this subject.
James 2:8 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well; 9 but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors. 10 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. 11 For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty.

The early church abandoned the keeping of the seventh day sabbath to escape being labeled as Jewish. It was a way for the church to distinguish itself from any custom or practice that may be seen by the Romans as jewish. The primary motivation for the abandonment of the sabbath was not the resurrection of Christ. The emperor Hadrian actually outlawed the practice of Judaism right after the Simon Bar-kochba revolt (132-135 ad). This would have put political pressure upon the christians.

Therefore the Christians who kept the seventh day sabbath would be brought under suspicion of being jewish. Revelation 14:9 Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”

When I would doubt and ask again, that understanding was impressed on my mind like a moment of clarity. It was strange and freeing. It does make a lot more sense even the placement of the sabbath command makes more sense as Jesus is the mediator between God and man. In him God's heart to us is revealed in the first 3 commandments and how that should reflect in our treatment of others is seen in the last 5, the 4th being the unity between the two.

The Apostles did not change the Sabbath the Catholic Church claims to have more power than God. No one can change God's law they only think they can. God's law is unchangeable. Jesus came to save us from sin or the breaking of the law including the Sabbath command. Keeping the counterfeit Sabbath means we have not been saved and will receive the proscribed judgement. Jesus never ever said that He was the Sabbath day . It just does not make any sense.

@@brucematthewdasilva9516 You will get lost without Gods Holy Church.

      @Tinisha Sutphin
Yes, the early Christians celebrate the Lord's day, because Jesus is the fulfillment of the law- he is the lord of the sabbath. You SDAs miss the entire point of the sabbath day.
Jesus the New Lawgiver has plenty to say about the Sabbath and one significant thing he does not say. He challenges interpretations of Sabbath law that would exclude doing good on the Sabbath (Matt. 12:12); he insists that man was not made for the Sabbath and that he himself is “Lord of the Sabbath” (Mark 2:27-28); he even suggests that the children of Abraham should be freed on the Sabbath from all that unjustly binds them (Luke 13:15-16). One thing he does not do is to restate the Sabbath commandment, even though he restates the other nine of the Ten Commandments (Matt. 4:10, 5:34, 19:18-19; Luke 12:15).
In the apostolic age, the apostles, commissioned by Christ to teach in his name (Matt. 16:18-19, 18:18-20, 28:19-20), emphasize the new order that Christ’s advent created. In Acts, Christians gather on the first day to “break bread” (20:7); the apostle Paul gives additional instructions for what Christians should do when they come together on the first day (1 Cor. 16:2); and Paul emphasizes that the holy days of old-whether they be festival, new moon, or Sabbath-no longer bind the Christian conscience (Col. 2:16).
Let's for the sake of the argument say you're right- then the early Christians breaks God's law, and Jesus becomes a liar, because he promised that the gates of hell would never prevail against the church. You also imply that the Spirit of God working in the church is a liar. So the option before me is- should i trust you, a member of a church that is founded on the words of a false prophet, or should i trust God's spirit that has been with the church from the beginning, which was founded on christ. I think I'll stick with placing my trust in God thanks.

Jesus' resurrection fulfills the saturday-sabbath. Because sabbath is a mere shadow of what's to come but the fulfillment belongs to Christ:
      Colossians 2:16-17
Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ
      Saturday sabbath commemorates the creation:
Saturday-sabbath was observed by the Jews because it commemorates the creation-that God made everything in six days and rested on the seventh day. When Jesus rose from the dead on sunday that commemorates the new creation. For as in Adam all die, In Christ shall all be alive. We are now the new-holy-alive creation who rose from the dead together with Christ's resurrection. The old creation is fulfilled with his resurrection-the new creation was born:
      1 Corinthians 15:20-22
20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
      Colossians 2:12

First why do you change the bible.
      Hebrews 4:8
[8]Now if Joshua had succeeded in giving them this rest, God would not have spoken about another day of rest still to come.
      And secondly
      Hebrews 3:7-11
[7]That is why the Holy Spirit says,
“Today when you hear his voice,
      [8]don’t harden your hearts
as Israel did when they rebelled,
when they tested me in the wilderness.
[9]There your ancestors tested and tried my patience, even though they saw my miracles for forty years.
[10]So I was angry with them, and I said,
‘Their hearts always turn away from me. They refuse to do what I tell them.’
[11]So in my anger I took an oath:
‘They will never enter my place of rest.’”
Rest ---> Is a Place(The land of Canaan)
      🚫Not a person.
      Hebrews 4:3,8
[3]For only we who believe can enter his rest. As for the others, God said,
“In my anger I took an oath: ‘They will never enter my place of rest,’”even though this rest has been ready since he made the world.
Another promise of "Rest" 🔜🔜 Heaven
If you belive in God 🙋‍♂️ You will enter this place of rest.
🚨Believe is not made manifest in disobedience. ⏬
      Hebrews 4:11
[11]So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall.

-----But Martin Luther and the Reformers do according to you then. They removed 7 books from the Canon of Scriptures back in the 16th century. Introduced "Sola Scriptura and Sola Fide" and yet both doctrines are NOT found in the Bible.
-----Ellen Gould White also has the power to change the Word of God even thought she's NOT of God:
      Leviticus 23
23 And *the Lord spoke to Moses,* saying:
2 *Speak to the children of Israel,* and thou shalt say to them: These are the feasts of the Lord, which you shall call holy.
3 *Six days shall ye do work: the seventh day,* because it is the rest of the sabbath, shall be called holy. You shall do no work on that day: it is the sabbath of the Lord in all your habitations.
------IT says very Clearly in Leviticus that God of the Old Testament spoke to Moses DIRECTLY to speak to His people "THE JEWS" about His Festivals and The Sabbath.
-----NoWHERE in the Bible that mention God of the Bible or the OT spoke to Ellen Gould White about His 7th day Sabbath.
      (Psalm 89:34 God said
“ My covenant I will not break, Nor alter the word that has come our of My lips”)
-----EXACTLY CORRECT, the Old Covenant was with God and His people the Jews..... According to Paul in his letter to the Hebrews *THIS COVENANT BETWEEN GOD AND HIS PEOPLE IS NOW OBSOLETE AND AGING WILL SOON DISAPPEAR.*
      Hebrews 8:13
13By speaking of a new covenant, *He has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.*
------God made a NEW COVENANT with the Jews and Gentiles in the Body, Blood and Divinity of Christ. He did NOT made a Covenant with the Bible or anyone that reads the Bible like Ellen Gould White and the SDAs.
      Luke 22:20
      New International Version
20 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, *“This cup is the new covenant in my blood,* which is poured out for you.
      Hebrews 8:6
6 But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, *since the new covenant is established on better promises.*

"Jesus Christ said that He is the Lord of the Sabbath mesning He is the Lord of THAT Sabbath day, the One, Who rested on that very first Sabbath day. Meaning, He was the One, Who created in six days."
Agreed, He is the Master "workman" of the Sabbath day but I think you are forgetting the Father in your explanation. The Son does the will of the Father through the power of the Father.
John 5:19, So Yahushua/Iesous replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing by Himself, unless He sees the Father doing it. For whatever the Father does, the Son also does.
      Proverbs 8: 30 Then I was beside Him, as a master workman;
And I was daily His delight, Rejoicing always before Him,
31Rejoicing in the world, His earth,
And having my delight in the sons of men.
Genesis 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. 2 And by the seventh day Elohim had finished the work He had been doing; so on that day He rested from all His work.
3 Then Elohim blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because on that day He rested from all the work of creation that He had accomplished.
4 This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the YAHWEH ELOHIM made them.
The Father made everything through the Son! The Father then blessed the seventh day and set it apart. What the Father does, the Son sees and also does. Doing his days in the flesh He continued to keep the 7th day Sabbath Holy following the will of the Father who made it Holy! In this way He
is also master of the sabbath.
27 Then Yahushua/Iesous declared, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. 28 Therefore, the "SON of MAN is Master even of the Sabbath.
Notice how the workman, spokesman, the living word of Yahweh the Father is linking his being the Son of man with his mastery of the Sabbath here!
Now it is true that Yahweh the Father made everything through him for him so in that sense the Father has made the Son master over all his works but ultimately for His, the Father's glory, to reconcile all to himself.
Yet for us there is but one Theos, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we exist. And there is but one master, Yahushua/Iesous Messiah/Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we exist. - Corinthians 8:6
He was in the beginning with Elohim. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.
7 In the days of His flesh, He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His piety. 8 Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered. 9 And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation, 10 being designated by Theos as a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek.
1 Corinthians 15:24, then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the Theos and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be abolished is death. 27 For HE HAS PUT ALL THINGS IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIS FEET. But when He says, “All things are put in subjection,” it is evident that He is excepted who put all things in subjection to Him. 28 When all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that Theos may be all in all.
Again, the Son knows the will of the Father and does it, which would include regarding Holy what the Father has made Holy. The Father is called by the Son, the true Elohim/Theos/mighty one. While it is true the Father has put all things under the son, the Son is subordinate to the Father. I agree the Son is master of the Sabbath by reason of being the one through whom the Father made all things through, but I also see that the Son does what the Father directs and enables him to do, perfectly! So both are true. The Son is "given" Mastery over all things because He does the will of his Master, the one over all things, the Father.
      Shalom/Peace

NoWHERE in the Bible does it say "it has to be written in the Bible in order for it to be Christian. "Sola Scriptura" is FALSE.
And the Sabbath was changed from the time of the Apostles....until Ellen Gould White read it in the Bible and made you kept the Jewish Sabbath instead of the Lord's Day, Sunday Sabbath.
      Acts 20:7
      New International Version
7 *On the first day of the week we came together to break bread.* Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight.
The early Church Fathers OBSERVED Sunday "The Lord's Day" as the Christian Sabbath.
*On the Lord's own day, assemble in common to break bread and offer thanks,* but first confess your sins so that your sacrifice may be pure." Didache, 14 (A.D. 90).
"If, therefore, *those who were brought up in the ancient order of things have come to the possession of a new hope, no longer observing the Sabbath, but living in the observance of the Lord's Day,* on which also our life has sprung up again by Him and by His death--whom some deny, by which mystery we have obtained faith, and therefore endure, that we may be found the disciples of Jesus Christ, our only Master."Ignatius, To the Magnesians, 9:1 (A.D. 110).
"The seventh day, therefore, is proclaimed a rest--abstraction from ills--preparing for the Primal Day, *[The Lord's Day] our true rest; which, in truth, is the first creation of light, in which all things are viewed and possessed.* From this day the first wisdom and knowledge illuminate us. For the light of truth--a light true, casting no shadow, is the Spirit of God indivisibly divided to all, who are sanctified by faith, holding the place of a luminary, in order to the knowledge of real existences. By following Him, therefore, through our whole life, we become impossible; and this is to rest." Clement of Alexandria, Stromata, 6:16 (A.D. 202).

Yes. There is nothing odd or controversial about the word "mythological" in a religious context. For popular culture, a myth is something that is false. Not so in the religious world: a myth is something that is fundamentally true, teaching about God, origins, and morality. The first 11 chapters of Genesis (as well as some other passages in the Old Testament) is mythological in genre.

"So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter."

      1. If your reason to keep sabath is JUST becasuse God has commanded it, THEN DO ALSO ALL THE CEREMONIAL LAWS HE ALSO HAS COMMANDED. YOI CANT CHERRY PICK.
      2. If you keep sabbath because it is in 10 commandments, well, 10 commandments binds morally, and sabbath is not moral. Jewish rabbi, aryeh kapplan said it is ceremonial.
      3. Christ Himself said that He is the Lord of the Sabbath and sabbatg is made for human not the other way around. And he has given the authority to his apostle to bind and loose.
      4. Christ has really put the new meaning to sabbath as the ONLY REASON IT HAS MADE HOLY BY GOD BECAUSE ITS RELATION TO CREATION EPISODES. Now that God RENEW CREATION THROUGH CHRISTS RESURECTION, I DONT see any REASONAL OBJECTION to observe sunday over sabbath.
THOSE WHO OBSERVE SUNDAY REALLY KNOW THE MEANING OF CHRIST SACRIFICE AND RESSURECTION. and those who dont, SIMPLY dont.

Revelation 18:1-5 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

54 This was done late on Friday afternoon, the day of preparation, as the Sabbath was about to begin.
    Luke 23 : 55 - 56
55 As his body was taken away, the women from Galilee followed and saw the tomb where his body was placed. 56 Then they went home and prepared spices and ointments to anoint his body. But by the time they were finished the Sabbath had begun, so they rested as required by the law.
    Luke 24 : 1
    The Resurrection
24 But very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared.
    Luke 24 : 21
21 We had hoped he was the Messiah who had come to rescue Israel. This all happened three days ago.

The church should admit in humility that it has got it wrong all these years. It was changed to distance Christians from Jews. Let us turn back to the sabbath.

passages of Scripture such as Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 16:2, Colossians 2:16-17, and Revelation 1:10 indicate that, even during New Testament times, the Sabbath is no longer binding and that Christians are to worship on the Lord’s day, Sunday, instead.

Any worship on the true Lords Day * *The Sabbath* was forbidden by law and punishable by prison and death. It was actually made illegal to not work on *The Sabbath* . God Commandments were trampled on and profained by Constantine and Pagan Rome to honor and worship *Sol Invictus* on The Day of The Venerable Sun , *SUN- DAY*!!! He legalized Christianity in 313 but it was only to gain unanimous authority and submission from all classes and chose Christianity to conduct his political propaganda. He believed it was the most appropriate religion that could accommodate and could fit with the imperial cult, *Sol Invictus*. Also check out *Amazing Discoveries* , Constantine and *The Sabbath change*.
