Do you have a schedule for this homeschool year? How do you feel about how it is going?

I’ve never thought about reserving a room at the library. That is a great idea.

I love that you were able to get such a great room at the library and I’m so happy that God worked in your schedule and that it all lined up for your needs ❤

Thanks for hosting, it's amazing how different everyone's routine is but they all work. I would love to do school in a library conference room.

My have “talkers” and I don’t think I would survive without these 1-2 hours a day!

@@CalmintheChaosHomeschool Amen! That is EXACTLY our reason for my oldest too. The littles still nap, but I need some Quiet Time. 🤫 So glad I am not the only one!

As you were saying how well everything fit for your family my first thought was God was sure at work there! Then you said something similar. E is so very good, isn’t He? I pray you have a great year!

Thank you! Yes! I definitely feel His work in all this is undeniable. Also, my daughter is living her new school and is really tackling all the new things with the maturity I had hoped to see. I’m so grateful that God can help direct our paths.

We have a normal schedule that goes from year to year!!! We are now part of a private school in our local area as we have to be in a school for high school transcripts!!! My work set it up as we have a lot of homeschool families!!! One of my boses is Japanese so he set up an anime class!!! I have one kid in that class and she loves it!!! We have to submit our records and I have kids in a writing class and a pre medical class for travel sport medicine and my older daughter loves it!!! My oldest is in a theology class!!! We listen to audiobooks often when we travel and watch documentaries as well!!! I’m planning a lot for my high schoolers!!! We often start with either Bible or World watch news!!! We have a church homeschool group and we do bread making and other lessons!!!

It sounds like your kids have some super fun classes this year! Audiobooks and documentaries in the car are the best!

We have a schedule, but its more of a block schedule or just a routine. I don't block of times we do things, except for our start time. We start at noon. I have one kiddo who likes to sleep in and the other one rises early, but requires a couple of hours of "quiet/computer time" to be fully cooperative at school time. We all eat breakfast at our own times, but we eat lunch together while watching any videos we might have for our lessons that day and then get into school. We do all of our group subjects first (science, history, read aloud, ELA) then our loop subject which currently are (geography, health/puberty, life skills) then I am done. That usually takes us till about 2 to 2:30 pm. Then they do their independent work (math, vocab, handwriting). Sometimes the kiddos do these during read aloud time. If we are all done with our work before 3:30ish we usually play some sort of game. That's it. Sometimes I feel its too long and sometimes I feel its not long enough. LOL

Thanks for sharing; it was very interesting to see how it all comes together. I have a 10th, 4th and 1st grader. My 10th is the most busy with activities and a co-op day where I find things to do for my littles. I try to get my 10th grader done early so I can take my littles to the park but it’s tough. Still trying to find ways for them to work independently since their ages are spread out.
