Oh my goodness, we are 2 weeks in and I have already done so much tweaking and reducing/simplifying our curriculum and subjects! And it feels so good! I'm sure I'm gonna have to keep tweaking it until I figure out what is really gonna work best. Thankful to know that that's OK. The curriculum works for us, we don't work for our curriculum! Trying so hard this year to make time for what's truly important. I've also started taking one day a week of just rest and time with my family. No housework, or big cooking. Disposable dishes and utensils. It's been 2 weeks now, and it has been a huge blessing! Thanks for a look inside your homeschool week!! ❤
I’m so glad that you have tweaked it to fit what you all need. Sometimes that’s the hardest decision to make. I love that you are taking a sabbath! We were so good about this a few years ago but have fallen off track and that’s my goal for this year. I hope your year goes smoothly and you keep prioritizing that time of rest 💕
I am trying to incorporate my preschooler too. He’s not as interested as he was over the Summer, so we are keeping it simple. Just table toys if he wants to join us. ❤
We spilt up our days!!! I loved having play based learning when my kids where younger!!! My younger kids loved listening to their bible app at the pre school age!!! My teenagers used to dance to pre school songs!!! We can’t do an hr morning basket as it’s too long!!!
Hey Shauna! I've been looking into a literature based history curriculum, and I saw in your previous videos that you were using Beautiful Feet for history, and I'm wondering why you stopped using it? I'm also considering A Gentle Feast for history. But literature based history curriculum is so new to me, so just hoping for some insight as to why you aren't using them now. I saw in previous videos that were really enjoying them... Thanks in advance! 😊❤
I absolutely love them! Right now they don’t have anymore primary history curriculums that we haven’t used (hoping they will creat some medieval, ancient, and modern for those ages). I have purchased quite a few of their intermediate curriculums but it feels like a big change from their primary packs. A lot more reading and more serious topics so I’m saving those for another couple of years before we start them.
It’s our first year and the meetings are just an hour. There are other events you can sign up for but it’s not mandatory. One mom told me all she did last year was the meeting because that’s all they had time for.
I love having subjects spilt up!!!
💯

@@joidavis5210 That is a great idea to use disposables every now and then! I might try that!
@@HomegrownHomeschool Taking a Sabbath every week has been a life changer!
Always love the mom encouragement. We definitely haven't found our groove yet this year. Thank you.
I hope you find it soon!
So great to be able to listen in the car to History! Way to make use of all the time!
I am trying to squeeze every productive minute I can 🤣

I have been homeschooling for two years and I still can't get it together lol.
Lol some years are good and others are more of a “hold onto your seat” 🤣 I hope you find a great rhythm

@@HomegrownHomeschool That's so helpful! Thank you!!
How much of a time commitment during the week is American Heritage Girls? I've been considering having my girls join up next year.

How is it going with AAR? I stopped with my son and switched to LOE but I wanted to use AAR 😅
We really like it. I purchased level three already but I honestly don’t know if we will do level four because the rope is exhausting
