My brother and I still have all our original disks for the Sims 1, 2 & 3. The nostalgia for these games and that time in our lives is amazing. It's kinda of a weird feeling, like a really happy one but then you get a pang of sadness knowing that time of your life is so far in the past.
I literally remember what I was wearing when I bought the sims at toys R us in 2001. I was 10 😂😂😂
I remember Sims Superstar being so much fun but also the most frustrating. I was never able to really accomplish anything in studio town cause of the quick decaying needs and how hard it was to level up in a acting or photographer career.

Girl, I have every boxed game, expansion and Prima Guide for The Sims franchise. In fact, you have inspired me to drag the boxes out of my closet. I just recently watched your video about installing the Sims 1 and it's expansions and installed the game on my computer and it worked like charm. Thanks Cindy.
Awesome! I played ts4 first and now I know how much personality and depth the sims had! I honestly think our lord will Wright is a bit desapointed about what the sims has become...

Man just by looking at those boxes you can tell just how much love maxis put into the game. All of the content, the effort, they really had so much to give
The sims 1 has such a magic about it, a magic I haven’t felt since I played it all those years ago. No modern game can come close to that warm, fuzzy feeling.
Cindy I rarely ever post comments but I just have to tell you how much I love your channel! It always gives me the best dose of nostalgia. Your channel is one of my favorites. I think I have one or two disks of sims 1 somewhere but now I wanna go buy the whole set! Also you HAVE to play bustin out! One of my favorite games of all time! It’s the best on play station 2, I still play mine!
This is making me nostalgic for when I would get new CD games from Wal-Mart. I feel old for saying that I kind of miss holding the games in my hands.
I still remember when I bought TS2 for 1 buck at a garage sale along with 2 Sims 1 expansion packs. They were Hot Date and House Party. At home, I realized, that the packs were not compatible with TS2. I bought a disk of TS1 at a flea market for, I think 0.50-1€. Too bad it didn't run. Eventually, I got it as abandonware. I was impressed of how smootly it ran.
I have all of the physical expansion packs for Sims1 and 2 and that made me want to open my drawer and read through all of the manuals again! Great video👏
man... this took me back so much!! I was a super young kid at the time but I remember buying the expansions as they came out and reading through all the manuals while the EP installed! also, I remember getting that sims 2 sneak peek preview cd and me and my dad watching the video on repeat being amazed at how good it looked!
i found the sims deluxe at a flea market two weeks ago for $1!!! thanks to you i have the oldgames version as there was no way i was getting that cd functioning on my pc lol but i snatched it up anyways for my collection. there's even an ad for the sims online on the back! i was born in 2003 and started with ts3 in 2013, but ive worked myself backwards to ts2 back when you could get it on origin for free. i was born a week after sims 1 superstar came out LOL so this isn't very nostalgic for me but it's so much fun to watch anyhow
I remember that little grey manual from the Sims 1 base game. I read it in the car on my way home from Walmart, where I bought my copy. I was so excited to install the game and play!
I'm trying to find The Sims on my country's equivalent of eBay, but, oh boy. People didn't care for their games! The ones you found are impeccable! Your collection will be beautiful, Cindy! 💗
Hey, this might be a bit of a weird comment but I just wanted to thank you for posting today. I had an incredibly difficult day and watching this video really helped me in grounding myself. Nothing that a bunch of big boxes and old Sims games can't fix, I suppose!
The Sims Hot Date was my first expansion pack, I was obsessed with The Sims when I was a kid, I miss the old days, The SIms 1 and 2 are the best games.
That was Nostalgic! I think I have my Sims 1 games in my parents' attic. There is a really old computer up there as well that the games were loaded on. But It's been years since I last played it. As for Sims Bustin Out, I actually did play that game I had it for the Gameboy Advanced. I remember that it was a lot of fun! There was also another game that I had for Xbox called "Urbz: Sims In the City" which was also a blast.
SO FUN! Very nostalgic! I LOVED opening the disc's and fondly remember having to install them. If I remember, TS2 base game came with 4 disc's.
I do still have my original disc's at my parents, I believe! But I had no idea they had prima guides for TS1! I have two of the prima guides for TS2 though.
I still have my old copy of Sims 1 but it's for Mac so it won't run on anything I own anymore. And the only expansion I ever got for it was Pets/Unleashed haha! The ghosts in that game used to actually creep me out when I played it at night. I also played it while listening to songs recorded on cassette tape off the radio, so to this day "All Around the World" by ATC still reminds me of Sims.
When I was 13 I found ALL of the full-sized prima guides for the Sims 1 at my local thrift store in PERFECT condition but because I was an idiot child they are lost somewhere at my parents house and I could not tell you where. I am in pain every day lol. Seeing your CDs made me feel so nostalgic,I remember waiting for hot date to come out and my parents asking me if I was old enough to play it ( I was like 6) and assuring them it was fine. Getting the box in my hands felt like Christmas lol
My mum collected almost all the Sims 1 expansions :) She let me play as a kid too, my favourite was Makin' Magic, I loved the little dragons even though they put my house on fire lmao
If you find a triple disk case anywhere else... Either for a game or CD you can pull the broken one apart and put all the cardboard in it it'll be good as new. I did this for my games back in the day.
I highly recommend Sims bustin' out, I've enjoyed it a lot. I think the Sims 1/2 era console spin offs are so much fun because, they take the core of the Sims and put you into a story that's funny and interesting to play.
The only outlier is The Urbz, but that one tries to change a lot more to be hip or something like that.
Also I'm yet to own castaway (it's the only PS2 Sims game I don't own) so can't comment on that spin off but I hope to own it one day.
I loved this video! I’m planning on following your tutorial on installing Sims 1 on Windows 10 this afternoon. I’m super excited, I’ve never actually played it before but I did watch my mom play it when I was probably six years old hahaha
you are missing the unleashed book and yes when i bought my copies of the game i think i payed $10 for one of the 2 expansion collections and got the other two and deluxe in an lot for $15 i payed about $5 per book for the last 3 and the small boxet was $4 (good luck reading it without cracking the spines)
i remember back then my friend had the original the sims 1 in box with cd and his father burn the game on a empty cd to me so i play the game later i few years i buy macin magic and superstar. that was good old times
i have play the sims 2 3 also 4 but this year i have download the sims 1 complete collection and also mods and i really enjoy the game
I have The Sims 1 from EA Classics in 3 boxes. First box is Deluxe Edition with game + Livin' It Up. Second box with Hot Date, Vacation, Makin' Magic. Third box with House Party, Unleashed and Superstar.
Till this day i own the old Sims games. Thanks to you i have the complete collection just installed a few days ago and it runs so good
I still have all my Sims 1 cases/discs from way back when, mine aren't paper/cardboard cases though so mine might be newer editions and not original cos they're plastic cases
also fun fact, Livin Large was called Livin' It Up in the UK and Sims Vacation was called On Holiday
THE NOSTALGIA IS SO REAL! I remember being a teen and racing to the mall in my little geo prism to grab the latest expansion packs when they came out and then staying up way too late to play.
OMG hahaha picture it : the year 2000, I would sit at my desk and look at the box for sims and hot date and imagine how cool it was going to be to play once my parents got me a computer. they said the computer was coming but “in the shop” 😂 - the struggle was real in the 2000s lol

I have some sims 1 expansion packs and ALL of the sims 2 packs physical. And i love the game advertisements in the packgages
I feel 12 years old again when my mom got me Living Large for the holidays and like this video just made me super nostalgic. I still have the first Pets sims expansion and the Vacation expansion but I lost the rest over the year.

Hi I saw you channel on recommended as I'm a big Sims fan still. I definitely can remember this indeed and yes I do have my original copies of The Sims and all expansion packs plus most guides. Such nostalgia indeed. I was playing the Sims even though I had Sims 3 I believe in about 2007? I don't know but it was the best I feel for content even with great expansions and so much fun. I feel so damn old now lol. I do enjoy Sims 4 to a point and the graphics improved great, but miss open world and a lot of the expansions from here were more in a sense. Vacation was excellent, loved Hot Date and so much seemed fun then, now with Sims 4 most expansions and other packs seem hit and miss I feel and seriously lacking some content sometimes. I don't know seems much lost, but some packs are still good and many things from the first have returned as you mentioned lime Skeleton Maid/Bonehilda now. thanks for the trip down memory lane.

I used to love the sims 1 when I was younger! I only had the sims on holiday and the sims unleashed expansion packs because they were kinda pricey and my computer was a family computer so my dad would often use it for work! So I was always kicked off of it! What a different time! Hahah! I would just send my families on holiday ALL the time! I would dream of going snowboarding and tobogganing down snow slides! Hahah!
So much nostalgia! ❤ I have the complete set of discs for sims 1 & 2, with all the original packaging & inserts. Sims 1 Makin' Magic was the best expansion pack! Great video! Now I want to collect the prima guides! Would you consider doing a sims 1 let's play to show us the expansions? Would loved to see that! It's been sooo lonnng!
Bustin Out was so fun! I'd recommend trying out both the GBA and console (Xbox, ps2, GameCube) versions because they're completely different but they're both so fun. Not to mention GBA emulators are incredibly easy and smooth. Looking forward to seeing what's on that preview disc!
Edit: also, the versions you have of Hot Date & House Party are rereleases (which look better imo); the originals had different box art.
This was such a nostalgia trip. I remember when I got Livin' Large for my birthday. My very first sims game. Literally. I didn't have the base game yet. I didn't know the concept of expansion packs back then (and neither did my parents, clearly, lol). Needless to say it was a disappointment when the game just wouldn't install, but thankfully we eventually figured out what was the issue
when i was a kid and sims came out i got the first one and was so excited. i didn't realize that i was supposed to keep the case it came in and so i threw it out so i could put it in a CD holder. that was fine until we got a new computer and i didn't have the code for it anymore so i couldn't play it anymore. i was so sad

I loved this! Money was tight when I was a kid, so I wasn't able to buy expansion packs until I became an adult 😂😅 I love expansion packs so much now! I've always been curious how much money EA has made off of expansion packs alone 🤔 like the statistics new movies come out with (budget vs box office earnings)

Idk if the storyline for The Sims Bustin' Out is the same for consoles like the ps2, but it was really good for GBA. It's my favorite!

I still have all discs at back home, unless mum threw them away. I used to spend all my allowance on the sims, and went to all local disc stores almost daily to check if there are any new expansions hahaha
I have all of my original Sims games that I bought as they came out. Pristine still in their original boxes. I have all of the Sims 1 & 2. I didn't buy any of the Sims 3 games on disk, I purchased them all online, so I dont have any of those or the Sims 4.
My parents wouldn't let me get the Hot Date expansion but for some reason I did end up with the Prima guide for it. It was torturous!

Of course I still have all of my original Sims 1 games and guides. I have to play them on a cracked version I have installed on my PC, but I do still have all my discs. And I collected those guides as a kid...they unfortunately don't make any for any games anymore.
I still have my sims 1 game but it’s just the disk, cd case and the paper insert. I wish I had the box it came in. I was never a “save the packaging” kind of person. I wish I was now.

I have the original unleashed ep, I remember when I installed for the first time and it had a simsville video ad and I love it and was really excited for the game, but I didn't have good internet back then, so it took my years until I learnt that simsville was cancelled D: To this day, I'm still disappointed lol

Cindy....didn't you just do a tut on how to get and install sims 1? I did everything, and I LOVE it....with the exception I burnt my house down and killed my couple. Learning to control them. Do you know of a mod or cheat that allows you to have better rang of motion with you mouse when navigating around your sims. I tried the FreeSo and it only does it for online gaming .
I have all my original Sims disks for 1,2,3 and 4 till it went download only. I didn't get hot date as it will an 18 in the UK and I was only 12/13 at the time
