I have lived that mistake. I now buy the fish I want as I find them. Making the loop to see what everyone brought first has bit me in the shortpants twice. There won't be a third time.
The problem with buying online is the shipping. Shipping is just crazy high. I bought a 35 dollar fish from a place in Florida (now New York) that cost me over $100 when all was said and done.
Hi Jason. With the holidays and holiday travel coming up, have you guys ever shared your views on best fish feeders or ways to keep your fish fed if you’re gone for a week or two? Obviously the best is having a neighbor come by each day, but that isn’t always possible!
Just finished watching the replay here in Spain. I buy most of my fish online because LFS don’t stock most of the particular fish I am looking for, or don’t have the quantity I want, or the sex I am seeking or even the size. Fortunately my online supplier has a vast selection, healthy fish, and reasonable delivery.
I recently ordered some snails from Flip and got a handwritten note saying that we are close enough that I should consider local pick-up in the future. For fish, not only is that easier but it is a good savings on shipping too. It was nice to get something like that with my order. I'll be considering some local pick-up for sure when/if those Multis show up on the website. Wish he carried Least Killis too.
I use mostly LFS, however have dipped into online for livebearers/guppies. Locally the guppies just aren't very good. So I tried some online sellers to start off some new colonies of livebearers/guppies - and so far I've been starting off new colonies of guppies and platies, and then turning around and taking them into my local store, sometimes for credit, sometimes for just a donation because they are unsure how well they will sell. I want to see them succeed, I want them to have improved livebearers and if I can help by purposely breeding some livebearers for quality maybe that can help. I'll still buy any high-quality fish from them. Recently got an Angelfish, some Pristella Tetras, and some good looking guppies
I have watched you guys for the last 6 months and only now after listening to you talk about did I realise I hadn't subscribed, I am now subscribed :) I guess it's something you do so often so etines you forget you havnt done it
@primetimeaquatics I have a 29g planted driftwood with a pair of multifasciatus and 2 fry, 4 black mollies and a fry B pleco 3 M snails. Question I have a 5.5 with a short fin male betta and 2 mystery snail can I add him to the 29g I hate to say it but he seems bored in the 5.5 pretty chill betta tho? Water parameters almost same 5.5has slightly lower ph temp 3°f cooler. Just an idea As always your answers are very appreciated. Have a terrific Thursday!!!
Even with all your efforts to be sure you're selling the healthiest fish possible, sometimes the parameters between your house and someone elses isn't a good fit. I bought 3 sterbia corys from you and they're fine. The Venezuelan corys all died. The Electric Blue Acaras I bought are all doing great, as is the current Black Ghost Knife. The first one I brought home went belly up the second I transferred him from his water to mine. Why? It has to be the differences in parameters, right? For those of you NOT named Prime Time Aquatics, my tanks have been running for years and years and years so, while my nitrates are often high (they come out of the tap that way), they have all been cycled for a long time.
I have large aquariums with Lake Tanganyika, Lake Malawi, and Lake Victoria cichlids. I also maintain a SA and Central American tanks so local fish stores just don’t have what I want and I understand that.
Huh... My local shop has some of those chiclids, and another local shop about an hour away from me has even more. Then again, my local shop carries some of the "oddballs" and primarily breeds and sells saltwater fish (mostly clownfish). The second one is decently large, to the point where nearly half the store has mostly equipment and supplies (and an indoor koi pond).
Sad that most of our lfs are on the decline. The big chains are ok, but they don't carry the variety. Sadly for me the shipping on live fish is just to much for me. We do have a smaller chain (petland) in ohio, but the fish health are just as hit or miss as the big guys. The local staff and management is the factor. I do really miss the ma and pa feeling and benefits from those stores of good ol days.
If someone is fortunate enough to find all the many intriguing aspects that truly require dedication to find out whether they possess any of the abilities for growing and propagating hundreds of semi aquatic & aquatic plants , and of the many who are in the hobby for countless reasons. I believe around 1% have mastered the craft. Aquascaping is a great hobby / lifestyle for sure but it's definitely not decorations in a fish tank ...... but then again maybe someone who gets tattoos is just " permanent body decorations " 🤔
If I click on a stream as it starts,, I hit the like button first thing, but If the stream is already going,, I legitimately appreciate the reminder of hitting the like button because I am so busy catching up on the stream subject or am so focused that it slips my mind. I'm with Joanna on the green neons. They are a favorite of mine.
Nothing is more aggravating than having someone say "please smash the like button". As you said, TH-cam has been around long enough that I think most people know about the like and subscribe buttons.
@meminustherandomgooglenumbers it doesn't make it any less annoying though, studies or no studies, people are clever enough to make up their own mind if a video they have just watched is worth a like or not
Sorry I was MIA for a couple weeks but vacation qas all consuming 😂
Glad you were able to get away! Thank you!

Ya, really have to place a large order to start balancing out the shipping sometimes.

We actually havent used too many fish feeders because there is always someone here.
Love Flip Aquatics! Multis are breeding like mad!!

Would you mind sharing who the supplier is? My sister, who lives in Spain, is also having a hard time finding a good selection locally.
@@kitcraft9516 not sure if I can put that info here in the chat but if you give me an email address I will surely forward the info
Just picked up a clown pleco from Petco.

I probably wouldn’t. Once the Multis start filling up the tank the rest may have to come out too!

Watching the replay today. We went to one meeting of our local fish club and they only do auctions. We just want to buy, not bid. =(
Auctions can be fun too. Plus, sometimes you can do a “buy it now” before the auction starts.
Heat and smell don't get picked up on video... yet. 😂
That will be a thing at some point. : -)
What aquatic frogs do recommend for ten gallon tank? cause I’m thinking about getting a aquatic frog
The African dwarf frog!
@@PrimeTimeAquaticsare they easy frogs to care for?
Good fish stores are rare. I have to drive 70 miles to get to a decent store.
I don't even hear the "Drop me a like and hit that sub button" anymore.

For me it's even worse when they do it at the very beginning of the video.
@@beaverc2884 Exactly, how do you know that you're going to like the video before you've even watched it!
TH-cam does studies. People who ask for likes and subs do tend to get more of them. Cuz some people do forget, so just do it as a friendly reminder
😁👍

PetSmart: 14 days 😛
Petco: 30 days 🤯🤫😜
Petco has much better selection of fish and saltwater but with a lesser warranty.😃
OMG THE THUMBNAIL IS FISH PLANET IN DEERFIELD!
Yes!
Ive heard dans fish fast their fish a few days before shipping so waste in the bad is minimal
We do the same before a swap.
👍❤️👍
Lengthy produced intros kill the mood for me. If you agree, please give this a thumbs up.
Very much agree. When I’m searching for something - get to the point!!
Honestly, I forget to like videos all the time. I don’t mean too!
