I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling with some of the architecture creativity with this game. Maybe it's some of the issues you touched on with needing corner roofs or maybe even just a 1-tile roof point for buildings with an odd number of tiles since you can either limit yourself to even numbers of tiles or deal with the blunt top of the roof. These aren't bad things about the game and the devs have more important things to worry about, but I certainly hope they expand on this aspect of the game a lot more in the future to help spark even more creativity.
Roof on the bottom and then deleting after placing the second one: there's a button you hold to change the placement point. I think for you it's left trigger? On PC, it's the alt button. That allows you to hover over a ceiling piece and have the placement point slope down instead of up. That way you don't have to place two and delete one.
@miasbookblog96 I know it will be a challenge after loosing everything but maybe you can look at it as a challenge to create some new and maybe improve on the ideas you had before. Hopefully you will get good inspiration very soon.

If you turned the setting off it will not deteriorate. Now if a fire pal fights near the wood it can still catch fire.
