I think Catherine’s Sandringham outfit was perfection! 2 key factors on fashion this year 1. The cost of living crisis+ cold temperatures is impacting the population, recycling and subtle outfits are prudent. Additionally being the first Christmas without the Matriarch HMTQ, this year was very much a ‘family attending church and still in mourning’ not a fashion parade. Finally, the commonwealth is so weary of the H&M Pseudo RF news saturation, I don’t think anyone in the RF wanted to stand out or draw attention, whilst it’s a nice tradition the Christmas service is not an official or public RF event.
I agree, I also loved the hat. I think there may be a style difference between what the UK sees as good and what a US commentator sees as good. Catherine’s outfits over Christmas have been stunning from the burgundy coat dress at Westminster Abbey to the olive green coat at Sandringham. Loved Princess Beatrice’s green coat and hat on Christmas Day but not so struck on Princess Eugenie’s coat. She would look better in coats without belts. Sophie Wessex, Lady Louise and Queen Camilla all looked fabulous. The stars of the show at Sandringham were without doubt the Wales children and it was great to see little Prince Louis, Lena Tindall and Wolfie Mapelli-Mozzi making their debuts on the walk to church.
Why is it Eugenie always looks like a matron? She wears a hair style and clothes that are very unbecoming. The orange dress with black accessories she wore a few months back look like a Jack ‘o latern! If you’re expecting better to not wear a belted coat. The headband and fastenaters need to go on these sisters. Princess Beatrice should have mimicked the fur trim. And I loved the dress on the future young queen but can’t remember her name.
William knows her personal taste and this looked like Catherine in her ‘before Royal Days taste’. I think she might be like the Queen in that the clothes she wears on Duty are her ‘work clothes’. Also, she has to have her own personal style just as any of us would want. Another thought, perhaps the earrings were a collective gift from William & the children. I actually liked them as something more like her old self. She had a bit of a funky style back in pre-Royal days.

As someone who adores hats but does not have the confidence to wear them, I have always loved seeing the beautiful Catherine in a hat. Both Catherine and Sophie looked absolutely fabulous with the wider brim!! Beatrice looked very pretty in the dark green coat and I think Zara is very stylish - love the Tindall family!!

Princess Catherine’s green outfit is absolutely gorgeous! Clothes and accessories were perfect together and she looked stunning in it! I have worked in luxury retail for 15 years (really high end) and I am quite used to see beautiful clothes so I am not easily impressed. I have to say that I see the two British sisters as the Cinderella step-sisters: they are always wearing weird looking and bad fitting clothes.
It’s terrible in the USA and getting worse each week. I don’t think this will end anytime soon so yes, we must become thrifty. The problem we’re seeing is the cost of food, regardless what the media reports, is up as much as 200-400% and still climbing. Our many citizens on fixed incomes can’t buy food at those prices. Those employees unless they’re making a great deal more than they needed to live, are farm ing the same issue. The cost of living has never gone up like this since the Great Depression of 1929. That’s the biggest issue. In time, even those with plenty of money will also be affected as the supplies are dangerously low on everything. It’s become a crisis in the US for many now but likely for a great more very soon. Are you in the US, UK or elsewhere? I’m curious as it doesn’t sound like it’s hit your area or perhaps your income level hasn’t been hit yet. It’s honestly gotten pretty bad in much of the US. The hearing bills are huge too so that’s adding more issues to those on fixed incomes or very little flexibility in their income. Our government is trying to say this is about Ukraine-Russia & while some of that may be true, costs were rising when before that began. Love to hear your thoughts. 🙏❤

I never noticed that. Everyone shouldn’t feel compelled to wear Extremely High & Skinny Heels to be in fashion. Stilts don’t compliment every woman’s look or dress. Also, they create balance, back and foot problems. The f anyone has ever had a problem with their back they can’t stand in a high heel. It’s not just uncomfortable and excruciatingly painful but it’s literally impossible. A medium heel is enough for any woman to feel she needs to wear and even then, depending upon physical issues may not be possible. I’ve never looked at Sophie’s heels as orthopedic. I guess I’ll never wear heels again between pain, after back surgeries and being disgraced if they aren’t high enough. There must be many women who feel the same. I always believed heel height to be an individual choice not a fashion must. Sophie looks lovely. I was definitely surprised by the comment which isn’t typical of our sweet girl.
Another great review. But just as a point of clarification when calling a garment a coat or a jacket … To put it simply, the difference is in the length. At a basic, all-encompassing level, coats are heavy & come down to the hip or longer, while jackets are light & stop at hip length, but there are plenty of variants that ride the line between coat and jacket.

I loved Catherine’s hat at Christmas and I think she was going for understated. Liked the coat didn’t love it - fit was on target as always but would have liked a different green or gray maybe ?
I do think she was trying to do green to Charlotte’s red.

The green coat on Catherine was beautiful & so was the green fur on Beatrice but the hat not so much. Catherine looked stunning in the tartan too. Camilla looked sharp too but the hat would have been perfect without the "mohawk" as you said. Really fun to get a glimpse of royalty with you.

Princess Catherine’s green outfit is absolutely gorgeous! Clothes and accessories were perfect together and she looked stunning in it! I have worked in luxury retail for 15 years (really high end) and I am quite used to see beautiful clothes so I am not easily impressed.
I have to say that I see the two British sisters as the Cinderella step-sisters: they are always wearing weird looking and bad fitting clothes.
Yes, Beatrice and Eugene do choose some odd outfits. Do you remember their weird hats at the Wales’ wedding? They outdid themselves that day. LOL.

It’s terrible in the USA and getting worse each week. I don’t think this will end anytime soon so yes, we must become thrifty. The problem we’re seeing is the cost of food, regardless what the media reports, is up as much as 200-400% and still climbing. Our many citizens on fixed incomes can’t buy food at those prices. Those employees unless they’re making a great deal more than they needed to live, are farm ing the same issue. The cost of living has never gone up like this since the Great Depression of 1929. That’s the biggest issue. In time, even those with plenty of money will also be affected as the supplies are dangerously low on everything. It’s become a crisis in the US for many now but likely for a great more very soon. Are you in the US, UK or elsewhere? I’m curious as it doesn’t sound like it’s hit your area or perhaps your income level hasn’t been hit yet. It’s honestly gotten pretty bad in much of the US. The hearing bills are huge too so that’s adding more issues to those on fixed incomes or very little flexibility in their income. Our government is trying to say this is about Ukraine-Russia & while some of that may be true, costs were rising when before that began. Love to hear your thoughts. 🙏❤

I never noticed that. Everyone shouldn’t feel compelled to wear Extremely High & Skinny Heels to be in fashion. Stilts don’t compliment every woman’s look or dress. Also, they create balance, back and foot problems. The f anyone has ever had a problem with their back they can’t stand in a high heel. It’s not just uncomfortable and excruciatingly painful but it’s literally impossible. A medium heel is enough for any woman to feel she needs to wear and even then, depending upon physical issues may not be possible. I’ve never looked at Sophie’s heels as orthopedic. I guess I’ll never wear heels again between pain, after back surgeries and being disgraced if they aren’t high enough. There must be many women who feel the same. I always believed heel height to be an individual choice not a fashion must. Sophie looks lovely. I was definitely surprised by the comment which isn’t typical of our sweet girl.

To put it simply, the difference is in the length. At a basic, all-encompassing level, coats are heavy & come down to the hip or longer, while jackets are light & stop at hip length, but there are plenty of variants that ride the line between coat and jacket.
