    Ever pulled a tree over with a stump grinder? This machine might be good for that.

    My favorite part of the video is where u say "it's impossible there has never been a tree that size!!" Your voice is sooooo funny there. 😅

      I’ll prolly just get one from your store if that’s an option. But today was a beautiful day! Just waiting at a local hole in the wall for my fried mushrooms and tamales to get boxed up along with my ladies French dip so the destruction can commence. 🤤

    I love the idea of having a huge stump grinder but for my business model, they are simply too big and expensive for me to purchase. I still love looking at them and would LOVE to test one or two of them out. 😊

    I have often thought that the remote controls should have a haptic feedback function...slightly vibrating the remote when a rock or pipe is encountered with the cutting wheel. Might be something to bring up with manufacturers.

    Great torture test. Machine looks awesome. Just a bit too expensive to really make it worth on 90% of the jobs.

    I would love it to have a vacuum ootion to help pick up the chip debris. 115hp should be enough to run a vacuum... lol.

    I really like Vermeer machines more than most others.
    Since you’ve probably ran every machine and or also owned so many…If you could say this about any brand, is there one that is similar to Toyota/Honda in the automotive industry?
    So is there any brand/s that seem to last longer/less with fewer/more (if any) issues even if maintenance isn’t the best/it’s always maintained like a clock?
    Is there a brand/s that seem to hold their value more/less than any other brand too?
    I hope this isn’t confusing. I started just wanting to see if any specific make was super trouble free or maintained value better but then i realized the converse would be even more interesting.

  • @penguinistas
    @penguinistas 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    10:03 amen to keeping the manual controls because I keep seeing postings for guys who remote control units break or malfunction. I always want the manual controls for a backup, even on a remote controlled machine. I also feel like I have a better feel for how the machine is running with manual controls.
    Good point about being able to see and hear what you're grinding. If you seea wire or a pipe, hopefully you can stop quick enough to not break something (we've had near misses a few times).

      The backup controls on my remote machine are not fun. Had a problem with the wireless, and had to run wired. The wired remote is not progressive controls. Of course it happened on a job with a hundred small stumps trying to move a tracked machine around without tearing up the lawn. Real usable manual controls are definitely a bonus.

    Instesd of the dozer blade it should have a snow blower attachment. Dual purpose, 115hp snowblower for snow or chips!!!😅

    Question regarding repairability: does it look like you have easy access to anything that need to be fixed from time to time (belts, hoses, cylinders, filters, etc). I ask because (for example) our Rayco RG66 has 3 big hydraulic hoses that are the biggest pain in the butt to replace (insert favorite cuss words here). And a few other things that are a pain to repair too.

    • @mustangrebuilder
      @mustangrebuilder  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Looks like all front engine parts are easy and all hoses to cutter pump are there when you pull shield open

  • @yourpalal2853
    @yourpalal2853 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    If u owned this machine would you consider switching to green teethnor keep the gen 2 wheel?

  • @davidnation4437
    @davidnation4437 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I thought the power looked great for that depth in damp soil. The swing width looked narrow, but might have just been as wide as you needed to go on that part. I’ll check the specs.

    • @mustangrebuilder
      @mustangrebuilder  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the swing was 71 inch but with looking through the swingout window looks narrow

    That Vermeer seemed way less worth it than a 2-4 year old SC30TX for $12k brother. Man, I’m sure it’s unbelievable but $1xx,xxx. My goodness.

    Interesting you spoke about the exhaust being able to change directions.... vinal siding definetly melts. Dont ask me how I know but i had to chuckle when u mentioned that.

    I bought my 1st grinder in 1994 a tractor mount. In 2000 i got a Vermeer pull behind and traded up in 2006 i bought a Vermeer sc352(i still have that machine it’s a beast for its compact size) in 2015 i bought a Vermeer sc70tx and a Carlton ox. I only ran the Ox for about 2 years breakdowns and parts were terrible. I traded the Ox for a new sc852 the middle brother of this 1152, it got about 1100hrs on it now with zero repair dollars spent to date at 8y old not even a gear box seal. And the sc70tx is a great machine but that CAT diesel is junk! Would love to trade the sc70tx and my 852 for a new gas SC1152. Here in central East Tx i charge on avg about $3.80/inch. But if i can use the smaller sc 352 it’s about 3.25 per inch

    Great review! It’s a heck of a machine! I think the exhaust spins 120 degrees or so not 360. Enough to keep it off someone’s siding. I was really blown away by how much torque it produced at such a low RPM. Have a great week!

    Great video Adam. I would like to replace my rg45 that got stolen with a nother 50hp wheeled machine. I really would like to demo the Vermeer 552 if my dealership had one too demo.The one thing I like about the Vermeer 552 which is similar to the 1052 is that it has a 25 inch cutting depth un like the bandit, Rayco, and Carlton are in the 15 inch cutting depth range.
