There's bugs with this setup in my testing, even without shaders, but made worse with shaders on. With Distant Horizons, the rendering prioritizes LODs over the clouds, meaning that the distant horizons terrain will ALWAYS render over top of the clouds, even when it doesn't make sense to. With shaders turned on, this flips, making the clouds ALWAYS render over top of the distant horizons LODs, even when the clouds are meant to be behind the distant terrain. If/when these draw group issues are fixed, it will legit be awesome, but for now, playing without shaders works well enough as there's not really a way to get the distant terrain to be behind the clouds in normal gameplay without an elytra.
Things they should add: - Variable rain (light rain or really heavy rain) - Blizzards that can dump a ton of snow - Massive hurricanes with eyes in the middle and really intense wind - Tornadoes also with really intense win - Microbursts - Derechos - Really rare red sprites and blue jets

Want this so badly now. Hope that at some point in the future they implement something like this. Realistic tornadoes in Minecraft would be amazing to see in combination with this mod

I love this mod, however, while playing in Survival I realized the rain isn't rain. It doesn't put out fires, fill cauldrons, and mobs still burn even in a extreme thunderstorm. Also the storms last weeks at a time. I installed serene seasons and a thunderstorm lasted the entire summer. Also snow tends to crash the game, If you enter a biome that snows naturally the game will crash 6 times out of 10
I really want those things aswell: Tornado, Hurricane, Downburst, Microburst, Hail Just imagine a hurricane slowly coming towards you while being able to see it the entire time like THIS. With wind/block physics like in the known weather mod.

Yes, it's cool, rare tornadoes, but strong. Imagine you are surviving in your village and then you see a big cloud appear on the horizon and you ignore it and go after the diamonds. You will rise, and then there is nothing left of the village, only cobblestone

You can fix those rendering issues if you go to the settings and turn off culling I think? It’s on by default and you get more lag when you turn it off but it means you can spin around quickly and the clouds won’t disappear
Good question, I’m not very good with red stone though, however possibly using lightning rods and cauldrons with comparators/observers could provide some form of weather forecasting
It’s built right into the mod, no tinkering needed, the only thing is that the weather zones are so massive that you have to travel far to find other weather types. Hopefully the mod maker changes that because it causes for relatively stagnant weather
They should probably scale it down and maybe speed up the movement of the clouds. I dont think the shear scale of these match well to minecrafts scale.

I've been compiling mods for a "realistic" modpacks, and I am debating on swapping out weather2 for this.
Mojang needs to take notes because mods nowadays just completely upgrade the game with just a few features.

The Minecraft weather system is one of the most outdated features in Minecraft and I love how the mod makes the clouds look realistic
