- I posted this video July 2020 and that’s when my account blew up on tiktok! I owe much of my success to Dylan Lemay who works at Coldstone in the states. His videos of Coldstone inspired me to do similar things with Dairy Queen content!

I'd probably end up dropping the cone into the chocolate. I volunteer at a charity shop and knocked over a vase on my first day.
how stressful is it to put the ice cream in the chocolate? looks intimidating
Well I guess it might fall sometimes but it's a thing you probably learn to do
I have never had one fall into the dip. The ice cream sticks quite well in the cone similar to the DQ blizzard stunt. If you leave it in the dip too long it will melt the cone and increase the chances though.

Trust me, you don't know what fear is until you have a large ice cream break off from the base of the cone and fall in the container of dip.
It's usually because the machine isn't working properly so the ice cream is kind of liquidy but you can't tell from looking at the cone. You can't really tell until it happens.
Serious question, why not dip the ice cream all the way without leaving the tiny bit exposed near the base? I've had them served like that and they melt from the bottom of the ice cream making a mess before you can eat your way down to it :/ (I'd rather have a little bit of chocolate on the cone than the whole cone melting from the bottom 🤣)

I think that it might be because the IceCream starts kind of falling (but not fast enough to fall off the cone) while being held upside down. Exposing a small bit of IceCream.
Maybe because it might get on to the cone?
My first day at dq was pretty stressful- no one really trained me that well and i left within a month bc they threw me on ice cream one day and register my 2nd day and i had no idea what i was doing. I was visibly about to go into a breakdown and no one was helping me. Long story short, i dont work there anymore. I worked there for a month.
Same, my dq experience was awful. Didn’t get training, was yelled at for making mistakes/being too slow while learning recipes, was thrown on register with no info on how to use it, and i had to sweep the drive thru. you did better than me tho i lasted 2 weeks 😂
Seriously same, I worked 4 shifts and was like I'm done. Training was an absolute joke and the managers were mean. The last day the manager got mad at us for closing procedures (I had never done closing before) and swore at us a lot. I thought we did good that day cuz it was extremely busy. That was my last straw

"6 Oz but still serviceable" christ I fucking hate the food service industry, I legit get told to throw food away often because it was too big of a serving.
Probably because it has to be between a certain amount of calories or some health nut gets cranky and sues the place
I work at McDonald's and if the fries don't get served within a certain time frame they're all thrown away. :/

What is in DQ ice cream that allows it to stay that firm for that long?
Literally air. Too much air, not sweet and full of pocket holes. Not enough air, it turns yellow and is extremely heavy.

Oh lord. This was definitely not my first day experience lmao. They had me washing dishes and cleaning the front end for my first 2 weeks. I didn't start practicing cones until after that.

I worked at another ice cream store and yes, sometimes soft serve ice-cream will fall out of the cone and into the coating. That's partially what the spoon is there for 😅
i work at dq and it happens often. the ice cream will fall into the chocolate dip and we just use the spoon to get it out and try again. it usually happens when the ice cream is too soft or something like that lol
In my two years working at DQ I only lost 5 cones to the cone dip. And all of those times were when the overrun (amount of air in the ice cream) wasn’t right

I worked there for three days, before quitting lol. They put me on drive thru alone when the high school next door had an event.
that sounds like it would suck :( it seems we've had pretty opposite experiences, they refuse to teach me until its slow 💀 ive been working thete for a month now and still no drive lol

I wonder why Starbucks doesn’t allow nail polish or watches - but they’re ok at DQ? I was told it was health dept rules - but I’m beginning to think it’s Sbux being annoying rules.
I didn't saw the watch when she dipped it into chocolate (but you could barely see the arm anyway), so maybe she took it off? And I think nail polish is often not seen (at least by the stores) as a problem as long as you are wearing gloves while making it?

The fast food place I used to work at did dipped cones for a while and I think 80% of the time we failed them. It was so hard!

When I worked at dq everyone made there cones huge🤣 our smalls were probably 8-10oz but we never weighed them, just made them as big as the person was nice
"A small cone should weight at least 5 ounces but mine is 6, a little bit over but still servable.".
I will only go to her DQ because she gives that extra 1 ounce 😂

I used to work at McDonald’s and the ice cream was always too soft. So when I would dip the cone into the chocolate the ice cream would literally fall inside it. It was so frustrating lol

McDonald’s had us not fill the base of the cone and do swirls to leave the middle hallow. The cones look a lot easier to make at Dairy Queen.

If it’s the right consistency you should have no problem. It’s all about air within the ice cream and having just enough of it for the perfect consistency. If there’s not enough then it’s too wet and runny, too much and it becomes over frozen and not too pretty
